I've been coming here as regularly as someone who doesn't tend to his health often can for the last ten years. Ew I'm old. But they're all very good, generally good natured folk who know their stuff. There hasn't been a point where I wanted to leave due to gross incompetence (I'm looking at you, Heartland Medical). They field all my stupid questions without making me feel foolish. Big fan of Dr. Brum & Dr. Bergman, but all of them seem qualified & friendly. Under the building is the podiatrist, whom I also have had the pleasure to deal with, and he's also a peach. My brother John had been sick for the past week I called and spoke to Paulette Caruso on the phone who works at Victory Internal medicine and asked her to get my brother John in as he's been very sick. She contacted the doctor and made him an appointment for 10 o'clock this morning. She's very caring compassionate and was able to accommodate an appointment for today it's hard to find good help these days and I appreciate the willingness for her to go above and beyond to get him an appointment. I appreciate her very much and obtaining an appointment for him on such short notice very understanding on the phone very knowledgeable and the appointment was done less than five minutes. My mother has been going to Dr. Kopstick for almost a decade. He has been her primary care doctor and he's alright. His front desk has always been rude but today was where they crossed the line. The gave us the run around to make sure our insurance was accepted and we did all that they asked. I made three different phone calls to Humana and their office and Paullette from their office said we were good to go. Then we get to the office and the blonde receptionist bluntly says, we don't accept this insurance. I clapped back real quick because I had someone from Humana call their office to confirm just an hour before. My mother has a PPO - she is not playing around so I was not about to let her or her supervisor, Dawn, turn us away because of their own laziness. I get the Humana agent on the line (who was phenomenal) and we together now wait there for another hour for Dawn and her front desk to get their act together. After 75 minutes, we had enough and are about to walk out when they say "Wait! the doctor will see her". I asked is it cleared up? The blonde in the front says "I don't know". Apparently their boss Dave now magically had the power to let my elderly mother see the doctor. Why didn't they do this when we arrived? I didn't want my mom to get now get a huge out of pocket bill so we walked ourselves right out of that mess of a business they think is a medical practice. A note to this office - you are exactly why the American healthcare system is broken. You make insured citizens of this country feel like they have to beg for an appointment to see a mediocre doctor. If you hate your job find a new one. Don't punish patients for your own misery. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The staff is rude and don't know what they're doing. They lost my blood work results. Couldn't get through on the phone. You get put on hold indefinitely and no one picks up. Literally had to show up in person and force them to call the lab. I was told the doctor would go over the results and call me. No one ever called. Signed firms requesting my records to change doctors. Still trying to get them. I am beyond disgusted. read more

I am so disappointed with this place the lady at the front desk answering the phone was told to help me out before the doctor checked me out and she was eating a bell pepper with cream cheese while helping me. I am only reviewing the ancillary staff. The doctors here are great!! The front desk on the other hand are rude and have no idea about organization. I am currently sitting here waiting to be seen for and hour and a half and every time I ask when I will be next, they say soon. Come to find out they lost my chart and were unaware I was still here even though I checked in and paid a copay. The front desk is ridiculous! The doctors are great they need to revamp the supporting staff which are horrendous. read more

This is a good practice but be careful which doctor you see...The office does bloodwork on site, calls you with results fast, is very flexible with being able to get you an appointment on short notice. Dr. Brum and Wortman are good...Dr.Kopstick and emmers are not good...I went to kopstick a few times and had bad blood labs with a few red flags and everytime he just brushed it off and said youre fine dont worry.. I brought my father there this week to see kopstick days after my father was in ER and saw a specialist..Kopstick said dont worry its no big deal he will be fine come back in a week if he's not better....well 3 days later my dads back in ER. Kopstick is too laid back brushes everything off , says everything will be fine, when there actually is a health concern that isnt just no big deal. I went to kopstick a few times because he was who they had available and I always just gave him benefit of the doubt that he must be good since this is a good practice, but never going to him again after this. Went to emmers once too and he wasnt that good...saw Brum and Wortman before they are good doctors. read more

I gave internal Med 1 * only because I had to, to write a review. Today is my mom's 12th birthday in heaven. My mom was a member of HIP which meant all her specialty doctors were under one roof. My mom saw her cardiologist, orthopedist any doctor she needed she saw. My mom transferred to Internal Med her Dr was Dr Emma and any doctor that was available on the day of her appointment. When my mom transferred over to the group she came with prescriptions from her previous Drs. My mom was on the medication Coumadin a blood thinner because she was a cardiac patient. The Drs at internal Med continue to write scripts out without asking any questions. Maybe one question could have been why are you on blood thinners coumadin? My mom had a hernia and needed surgery so that meant that she had to come off the blood thinners in order to have the surgery. When I told Dr Emma about her being a cardiac patient he told me straight out she wasn't . I started to panic because why were you giving her Coumadin if she was not a cardiac patient. Then why was she on blood thinners???? PS after two surgeries for hernia surgery she went into cardiac arrest and died. I saw Dr Brum with a dig bite which was bleeding as he looked at the bite he said what do you want me to do? I don't know maybe ask when my last tetanus shot was and maybe clean it out. I also went in with terrible back pain was told I had shingles I was handed Cymbalta which is a terrible drug and very hard to get off of. I'm still on it because I wasn't aware of difficulty you have weaning off the medication. A very busy practice almost like an assembly line. read more

Both offices , HYLAND Blvd , and Victory have the worst office staff of any Doctors Offices. They BOTH do not answer the phones , they NEVER call back and if they do it's a full day or more later. If you are waiting for results or a referral to your insurance they ignore your calls and messages. The staff is very nasty unorganized and extremely lazy. The nurses are all very nice and the total opposite of the front desk staff. It really is unbelievable how nasty the receptionists are to the patients . It's our fault as patients , we let them get away with it cause we think there's nothing we can do. Right complaints anywhere u can , speak the truth maybe things will change ! read more

I only have good words for everybody at Victory Internal Medicine. The staff is always very attentive and respectful and always ready to help the patient. This people here don't kn what their are doing I came with my wife to get the imnigsratipo examen en they send us to the especies lab to get the test done and on top of that they forgot to ask for some test that she need so I end up faxing it to then the others test and they los the fax pls staff is not friendly. read more

both the doctors and all the staff @ victory internal are both attentive & respectful of all your medical needs. i cant say enough about how yesterday toni ann @ the front desk helped me navigate thru a difficult problem..she even gave me a copy of the fact & made shure it was received....she took the time to give the other heathcare provider my insurance info & #s even though the other officce was clearly rude & unprofessional...thank u sooo very much. & thanks to all the other staff who work so hard & for long hours ...amanda & micheala who do my vitals & draw my blood( & believe me...i am not easy)...to victoria who makes all the appointments referals & makes sure the prescriptions are where they need to be & on a timely basis..& to the rest of the girls /nurses on staff that i dont know or cant remember their names // but believe me i know them by their smiling helpful faces***again i thank you... and to all drs on the staff here...as i have seen u all on occassion(unfortunately)...& cannot give u enough praise for always being there...if every practice was like this@ victory internal where care is only a phone call away , there would be no need for these urgent care places. and as for those negative reviews that have been posted-- - i think those people were at a different drs office...cause the staff & drs here are nothing but caring... & dont blame victory internal for the "glitches" of the new phine system that "mount sinai " installed....call mt sinai ....they implementes there mandatory system ...not the drs & staff here. and anyway...when u leave your message ..the staff returns your call usually the same day, & definately by the next!thank you for your service read more

Follow up on billing department. They are located in Manila, Philippines. Prompt 0 after long recorded message. Went to music then after 2 min. 25sec. music faded to dead air 9min. later mucic returned for 4 min. then in 4 min. music gone then in 1min. music returned for 1min. then went to ring and answer by person who requested 13 digit account# & billing date. On phone from start to finish 19min. 20sec. Person was polite, understandable and concise. Had my records access at this international location. Problem called about was bill sent out 2 days after they received payment from insurance carrier. Told to disregard the bill received. read more

After waiting an hour past my appointment time, the tech was unable to draw blood from me. She told me she was in the vein and it wasn't bleeding.. Really? Total incompetence. The only reason I went was for follow up,bloodwork... Thank goodness I wasn't really sick... Time to change doctors. read more

Melissa the NP is excellent! Unfortunately, my original PCP closed his practice abruptly and my files were transferred to Victory Internal Medicine. However, the staff at this practice said it will take 3 weeks for them to be made available to me! So I had to have all of my bloodwork redone. Had a very hardtime explaining my medication regimen to the doctor without feeling like I was being questioned. Office staff was very rude to me when I explained that I was basically going in for duplicate testing. Melissa the NP is really the only one I trust there. read more

Had a really bad and painful ear infection. I asked the lady on the phone who was the rudest most insensitive person i ever had the displeasure of talking to, to please squeeze me in. If you like uncaring doctors and being rushed in an out like cattle this is the place for you. I was there yesterday and asked about strep throat. I was feeling sick they did not test. Went to the doctor again today and tested positive for strep. I am asthmatic and this could have turned into a very bad situation. I will be looking for a new doctor tomorrow. I tried Dr. Emmers and Dr. Kopstick and give them both 0 stars for compassion. Never again. read more

I love all of the doctors, PAs and nurses, but some of the administrative staff could be improved. The phone etiquette is where they are most lacking. I dread having to call to make an appointment as I know I will get an attitude and will feel frustrated. If I didn't love the doctors and haven't been a long time patient, I'd hang up and find another office. I worked at a similar office as a teenager with far less useful technology plus I am an Executive Assistant in a business office, therefore, I have personal experience with this job. The practice has many doctors and 2 offices, but there's never a spot available when I need a quick follow-up appointment. The scheduler seems irritated and doesn't offer what is free. They ask what works for you then just a flat nothing available. It's like pulling teeth to get something booked. The Hylan office is better than at Victory. The girl at Hylan who sits to the right has always been a sweetheart since the early days at Amboy. If I'm actually sick, I won't even bother calling and will just go to an urgent care. The last time I did, they must have stuck me in at the end of the day, and I could hear the receptionist and nurse complaining that I was there as if their afternoon was ruined. I was literally in and out for a prescription. Also, I continuously get a bill in the mail from 2 years ago that wasn't submitted to my insurance properly. I have called to rectify to no avail. read more

Worst office ever. Rude receptionists. Don't even try calling unless you want to be on hold for 40 minutes at a time with no answer. rudest people ever, drs are great but its not worth going through to get to them... the staff is extremely rude at the front desk, when i call to make an apt they're chewing their food through the phone and they have no patience for anything. when i actually go and sit and wait for the dr all you hear is them complaining, talking loud and gossiping about the patients that called and I'm sure they do that after they hang up with anyone if they're saying it in front of your face about the others, they're obnoxious rude and just really nasty. trust me you don't want to deal with these people they have a real negative energy. they have no problem giving you attitude and they'll fight with you because they need something to talk to the others about and it'll make them feel validated that the staff agrees with one another because they're all the same miserable people! read more
