Very neat--full cleanup at the end of every day. They were also very responsive and did more than they had agreed to, as we kept finding new areas that needed touch ups. Thomas Restoration came in about 20% cheaper than the other Oak Park premium painter (Ronbo). We tried to get a proposal from another "Oak Park" firm (which is actually just an Oak Park mail drop) and they never even came back with a proposal. Twelve years ago, we had the house painted and went cheap and regretted it. We definitely got our moneys worth with Thomas Restoration. Highly recommend.

We initially had a great experience with Handy Hero. Roman was punctual, professional, and fixed…read moreseveral items during the first visit. We were pleased. However, he couldn't repair one cabinet hinge due to a broken piece and asked us to purchase a replacement. In the meantime, he adjusted the other hinges that were working fine, which made the cabinet doors function worse than before. On his second visit, he said the part we bought wasn't correct, took a sample with him to purchase the right one, and again left the doors misaligned. After multiple calls and messages over several weeks, we've received no follow-up and no return visit to complete the job. It's disappointing because the first impression was so positive. We were hoping for a better outcome and a repair company we could rely on for years to come. Unfortunately, the job remains unfinished and our cabinets are now in worse shape than when he started.

He made sure everything was clean when he finished. His pricing was also very fair--no surprises, just honest work. We're glad we found Roman and will be calling him again for future projects.

From the start, the pricing was very reasonable and completely transparent. Even when additional work or extra care was needed, there were never any hidden charges. Any added costs were discussed with us beforehand and only moved forward with our approval. It feels rare to find a contractor who is genuinely trustworthy and stands by their quoted pricing. The entire team was friendly, professional, and a pleasure to have in our home each day. They took the time to talk through decisions with us and shared their decades of experience whenever we felt stuck, helping us make choices we were confident in. One moment that really stood out was when Chris arrived extra early one morning just to inspect a specific section of our built-in shelving. He told us the alignment had been keeping him up at night and wanted to come back with the right tools to make a cosmetic adjustment. It was one of many examples that showed how much he genuinely cared about the quality of the finished product rather than simply getting the job done as quickly as possible. It's hard to overstate how valuable that level of craftsmanship and pride in their work is. We couldn't be happier with the final result and would gladly recommend Chris and his team to anyone looking for a contractor they can trust.
