I can vouch that Victoria Williams uses a trusted, organic and natural-looking hair augmentation process since I have been a satisfied client of the Victoria Strands salon for about 3 years. When I first met her, I had grown out of a full weave with cap that covered all of my head - that was really my first experience with a full weave having recently experimented with tracks. I had originally tried "traditional" hair weaving because my hair had been thinning out over the last year or two due to stress and other factors. The full weave, I thought, would give me some thickness, versatility and allow my natural hair to grow. Although I liked that look initially, I did not feel comfortable having my entire head encased and covered. It was also harder to shampoo and keep my scalp clean. Vickie educated me that having a full weave can put stress on my hair and contribute to hair loss, particularly at the top of the scalp where the weave cap was placed. She mentioned that her strand-by-strand method is totally organic, would look very natural and would allow my weakened hair to grow since my scalp would be able to breathe. She was totally right. The areas of my scalp where I suffered thinning have filled out noticeably. My natural hair is much healthier and stronger all over. I am extremely picky when it comes to who touches my hair since I am a career professional; my hair needs to look top-flight at all times. Thank God I found Vickie, because she changed my life! Believe me when I say Nothing else out there comes close to perfection like her process. She not only does a fantastic job, she educates you on how to take good care of your hair. Let me just say, that now, since going to her, I'm able to wear my own natural hair. I went from having short and damaged to long, thick and healthy hair thanks to Vickie. Here's the truth: Yes, her technique will cost money, but nothing comes for free. Her pricing is nothing different from what others are charging, so trust me when I say it's worth the money because it's 100 times better than all those other techniques in the market. You're paying for the best. Yes, it is a lengthy process, but you have to keep in mind, she's putting the hair in strand by strand, so it will take time. She takes her time to do the best job. Yes, you can keep it in for a long time (I had mine in for over 6 months easily!! I believe I ended up taking it off after 8 months). If you take care of it like she tells you, you will have no problems. Yes, you will have to get it tightened up. You have to remember the rows grow out along with your natural hair, so when your hair grows, the row moves so of course you want to get it adjusted. Yes, hair gets on the floor and moves around, but what do you expect when she's working with loose pieces of human hair. Yes, she's the only one doing this process, but she invented this method, so why is she obligated to reveal her method to others? Yes, she is very kind and accommodating with peoples time. She has a good heart and wants to help people. People come to her for help, some in desperation (like i was) and when you leave you feel very grateful. She is NOT greedy. First and foremost, Victoria Strand is a method that is very unique and proves to be beneficial to women no matter what their racial, ethnic or cultural background. Women no matter what her shape, size or color experience difficulties with hair. Vicky's work is a testament to her hard work, artistry and passion. With that being said, it is not a cheap process...but it's well worth the price. Currently, she is a one-woman-show; which only means that her dedication and time is what you're paying for along with this process that helps women feel comfortable while trying to restore the health of their hair. Her work space is cozy, with a warm atmosphere. It feels nice to be somewhere where you can be comfortable with your hair stylist and not feel like your on a "weaving assembly line" like most salons. When you get your hair done by Vicky there is a feeling of security, privacy, and a touch of exclusivity as if you're the only person in the world that knows of this rare gem of a find--even though she has many clients. It's just upsetting that one woman is trying to ruin her business single handedly with that horrible review, which is not even putting down the process, but personally attacking Vicky. If you have any personal issues with a person, just hash it out with the person...don't mess with another human being's LIVELIHOOD! That's just uncalled for. I personally would not know what to do if for any reason Vicky would no longer be able to do my hair as a result for this person's selfish actions. I am just one of many satisfied and loyal clients of Vicky, and would like to see this bitter battle come to end--starting with Yelp.com's interference with this ridiculous "filter". Debbie H I was fortunate to find Victoria Strands two years ago. I had been using another process by another famous salon. I realized that my hair wasn't growing, my hair was matted and breaking off. Some times I wasn't able to get appointments based on my schedule . I've never had these problems with Victoria Strands. When I chose to go to Victoria Strands for a consultation, I was not only impressed with her honesty, level of professionalism and integrity, I made the decision to have my process completed that same week. The first time I went for the process, I took my 91 year old mother with me. My mother sat with me for 10 hours until the process was completed. My mother actually complimented Vickie on her skill of adding hair and said she was happy that I had finally found someone who understood how I want my hair to look. During the hours my mothers spent in the salon she was offered food and drink and offered ample space to stretch her legs. Vickie, showed her concern for another person, she is not someone just interested in MONEY, as so may other salons. In the two years of my going to her salon, it has been a very friendly, clean and warm atmosphere. But the most important aspect of my going to Victoria Strands is my hair it is much more healthy and it looks GORGEOUS. My husband likes the style the color but more importantly, he thinks my hair has grown. Because the process looks and feels so natural. Like many of Victoria's clients I have struggled with my hair for years. Due to many reasons, my hair was in bad shape. Every morning was an ordeal that often ended in tears. After being refused extensions twice, being told that my hair was too damaged to hold up under the process, I started my research..... and I found Victoria. It wasn't just as simple as seeing her web site and booking; I researched!! On Monday, May 6th my life changed. First, I was nervous about spending so much time with someone I had never met before. It takes me a while to feel comfortable around people. There was no need to be nervous. After all of 5 minutes, you feel like you've known Vicky forever. It's like you're hanging out with one of your girlfriends. I was nervous it would hurt. No need; there were times I almost fell asleep. I was also nervous that it wouldn't look "real". There was no need for that either, the color and texture blended perfectly! Because I had such a long ride home I decided to have my own hair dresser cut my hair the following day. I believe the Victoria Strands process is one of the best hair weaving techniques in the country. It's not the typical braided, sew in or glued hair weave techniques. Because the process is so intricate, its very costly and time consuming. But the end result is well worth it. I've suffered from Alopecia most of my adult life and going to a traditional salon is dreadful for me. Victoria salon was very private, clean and comfortable. Therefore, the 500 mile drive or the round trip flight is well worth it and her studio is located in a fabulous area, with great shopping & hotels in walking distance. She did receive calls regarding her services, but nothing any different from any other Hair Stylist, which I didn't mind, it gave me an opportunity stretch or use the lady room or check in with my family. The atmosphere is very enjoyable and her spirit is beautiful and her talent is extraordinary. She have changed and touched my life forever, therefore I'm forever greatful. I will be faithful customer until the end. My hair is fabulous, it look so natural, I'll tell anyone you will love it and it's well worth it. For Donna C, its obvious you loved her process too and was a loyal customer for two yrs, I just wonder what really happened. I wonder was the economy a factor. This is not at all funny in any way! It' s actually sad to see such slander from one person and sounds rather vengeful! As a client for 5 years, I have not run across unprofessionalism, yanked out hair, spending the entire day there or unsanitary conditions. What is correct, is that it is a one person operation, so you are told that the full process will take around 8 - 10 hours. Yes, when others learn how to do this healthy, Light weight, no glues, natural looking process, it will revolutionize the extension process as we know it! It's as organic as it gets! I'd suggest one come get a consultation, see photos, see the quaint shop and speak to Ms. Williams pesonally. As for kids, damaged hair from the glues, braids, fusions, lace fronts, all damaging, or anyone having gone through cancer treatments and wigs don't work for you, VS is like a magic wand. The talent, artistry, patience and individual attention is not to be disregarded! And, yes, when one works up to 10 hours straight, there is something called labor laws allowing one to eat and take bathroom breaks, even in a single proprietor operation. we all know, you get what you pay for! And for my money, the time it last before getting it redone, is far less expensive than other places that do extensions. So, overall, I'd rate Victoria Strands a 5 + and higher when she gets someone else to learn this awesome method! read more

In October 2010, I visited a well-known hair salon for a perm. To make a long story short, my hair fell out in patches. With my birthday quickly approaching, I went online to search for a good "weave." Instead, I found Victoria Strands. Nervous, I went to her clean studio, with its warm atmosphere. The studio was apparently designed with the client in mind. Vickie professionally examined my own hair and determined that she could help me with her system. She quickly announced that she "doesn't do weaves" and that she developed her own process. She peaked my curiousity. Well, the finished product is amazing. The hair is light-weight and moves naturally. Vickie washes, conditions and styles my "hair" every two to three weeks (of course, I wash it on my own in the interim). With the weaves I have tried, I could have never put so much stress on the process! At first, I thought the price was kind of steep, but the look that is achieved by this process is well-worth it. The first time I saw the finished product, I almost cried--really! My own hair has grown tremendously because the Victoria Strands process allows my own hair to breath and grow. All I have to say is that I met Donna C and she is basically crazy She is someone who tried to pull a fast one and got snagged. I know this because I was there. I have been with Vicky as a loyal client for 2 yrs. Before Vicky I was miserable. I was seeing someone else and the results were horrible. I found Vicky by calling her salon and I spoke with one of here clients blindly. I think that is the best way to get an honest review. Since that time I have received so many complements on my hair! I have truly been blessed. As for the price you pay for what you get. Now Ladies, you know we could be dirt poor, but when it comes to our hair we will get blood from a stone. My hair is now healthy and I will soon be able to remove my extensions. The sad thing is that I don't want too! As for her place its clean. I absolutely LOVE,LOVE,LOVE the VS process! I am very meticulous about how my hair looks. I would not step out of the house if I thought my hair did not look natural. That is the kind of person I am. With that said, I have been a loyal customer of VS for about 2 years now. My hair got damaged, (actually broke off!!) when I used to frequent one of those Dominican "hair salons". Ok...I was being cheap!, but they used to blow it out pin straight, until eventually, thinned out and broke off from all the heat and unfit chemicals they would administer. I've had this process done multiple times, its the most natural hair weave i've ever seen. It's done in a private salon, it's very detailed and intricate, therefore be prepared to sit for sometime, but it's so worth it. Its really my slip-up!! I had hair extension from this very worst salon. I had Brazilian hair extension and the hair is nothing more than full synthetic junk. It is NOT human hair and the wefting was horrible. They refuse to refund my money even after I complained them about synthetic hair. Hopefully nobody else gets ripped off by these guys! read more
