When I asked a simple question about the flat iron temperature--something I've asked other stylists--she snapped and accused me of bringing "negative energy." I was shocked and felt belittled just for being curious about my own hair. She also denied the discount we had agreed on via text and wanted more money. After I showed her our messages, she told me to "pay whatever you want." I ended up Venmoing her $500 just to avoid conflict. I left with a headache from the treatment and feeling really hurt that I spent that kind of money and was treated so poorly. If you want a stylist who is kind, professional, honest, and respectful, I recommend going elsewhere.

I researched and learned about Cezanne which is a better and safer alternative because it does not have formaldehyde. Also, the smell was more aromatic. I visited cezanne-hair.com and Mona's salon was on there. Her office is located in Old Georgetown Office Park. From afar you won't see her office number because it's on the lower level. My appointment started with a hair wash followed by a haircut. Mona informed me that my hair was in dire need of a cut and that I should be getting it trimmed every 3-4 months. I decided on getting a straight haircut to make it look fuller rather than layered. After she put the Cezanne treatment into my hair, I sat for 25 minutes for the product to set in. Afterwards, she straightened my hair. Once Mona worked her magic, my hair was super shiny and smooth! I'm ready for the summer heat and frizz and it will be nice to be able to get up and go. She recommended only washing my hair once or twice a week and rinse the other days and to only use sulfate-free products. Mona is very personable and it was lovely learning about her. I am impressed how much she has accomplished since being in the states for nine years. She is talented at what she does and her salon is lovely. Highly recommend Mona.
