Feels weird, 5-starring a car dealership. Bought a lot of cars over the years, and it's always…read morestressful and unpleasant. It's always high pressure and shady sales tactics. This was different. No "lemme talk to my manager..." BS. No starting out the conversation with "So what can you afford for a monthly payment?" or any other sleazy, underhand crap you expect when buying a car. Also wasn't left alone for extended periods of time drinking crappy coffee while they figure out how to screw you and try to convince you you're getting a deal. I know I'm salty about dealerships, but can you blame me? Everything was quick and painless. I got the price I went in expecting, npo wasting my time with nonsense. I even reserved my review for after the first service appointment. Bet even that was smooth as silk. Dropped the car off in the morning, they drove me to work, then drove me back after work to get my car. To be fair, I haven't had any problems with the car yet, so we'll see if they stay 5-star in that case, but here's hoping.

This once great establishment gets worse and worse by the day…read more - I once had to wait until way past 8:30 pm on a Saturday to get an inspection and new tires put on. I dropped it off before noon and they said it would be ready by 6 pm. - They pray on older people that don't know any better with high up front charges to diagnose and then use every line in the book to pay out of pocket instead of use their warranty. My girlfriend's A/C stopped working and they wanted $575 to diagnose the problem. The service manager said "things like rocks can damage the condenser and that's not covered under warranty" After a free visual inspection they coincidentally stated that a rock most likely damaged the condenser but they need $575 to do a full inspection. - "o rings are a wear item and not covered by warranty" - Van Bortel Victor Service Manager - I've started doing my own oil changes now because they take so long. - Air pressure in the tires are constantly set way too high. This has happened more than once across multiple vehicles and I have an industrial calibrated pressure gauge. My only thought on this is they do this to wear the tires faster to get more money out of you. - My co worker has a Subaru WRX STI and one of the members of their service team took his car on a joy ride and red lined it so much that the reset boost gage was maxed out. - Their service department is terrible and after buying six vehicles from here, 2008 WRX, 2013 WRX, 2013 Crosstrek, 2022 WRX, 2023 Impreza and 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness and I will no longer buy from this establishment because of their horrible service department.

Only you can see immediately that the belt is fine. You start the car again: no gears to shift into; we lost the clutch, you are thinking. Then the superb tow-truck driver at Farmington Towing (shout-out! sorry I forgot your name; see: "mid-60's), suggests I call CDI in Victor while he's up-loading the van & Mike, co-owner, answers the phone & says, "I don't even have anywhere to *put* your car & we're booking out three weeks from now & one of our mechanics is on vacation, but, sure, bring it by." Apologies for suspending the punchline for so long, but, after renting a car (shout out to the local Enterprise & Caleb) & thinking we'd be spending the next week exploring the Fingerlakes for the next week (we're fine with that: see "mid-60's), & spending the night in a sweet & vacant yurt (shout-out Plum Point Lodge), Mike at CDI has, overnight!, determined that the clutch cable & assembly are actually fine & that what need repairing are the CV joint & boot (so doable, especially when, as owner, you have a thing for old vw vans & have spare parts in abundance!). Mike has our van back on the road in 24 hours (backup on the lot be damned; he's committed to "getting us back on the road" to complete our cross-country road-trip)! Robert (shout-out: a mechanic who works with Mike) identifies an axel issue (that would have been big trouble further down the road) as well, so they fix that, too. All this to say that CDI Auto Repair in Victor, NY, is one of those magical, necessary stops along the road you didn't even know you needed to encounter. Now writing from Maine just a couple of days later: my grandfather was a great & honest auto mechanic; I know them when I happen upon them. (Shout-out also to Garrett at C & G Auto Repair in Hanksville, UT for his own skillful & timely work to keep us going). Yes, we highly recommend CDI-- among the best auto-repair experiences we've ever had. Skillful, humane, most excellent!

On 2/3/26 I called to report that I had a check engine light on in my Certified Pre Owned 2019 Ram…read more1500 (from my e-torque system), my remote start was not working (likely due to the CEL), I needed my yearly NYS inspection, and it was my opinion that my truck was suffering from the very common exhaust manifold crack/leak that has plagued the new generation Ram trucks. They were able to get me in first thing in the morning on 2/5/26. I wanted them to check it out and address any concerns as it is still within the original factory powertrain warranty, and I also have a CPO warranty and an additional aftermarket warranty (surely one of these would cover any issues). The service advisor approached me in the waiting area to let me know that there were no stored codes or indications that there was an issue with my E-torque system. He also mentioned that I needed a new engine oil pan (to the tune of $2,000), Rotors and Pads on all 4, wiper blades (to pass NYS Inspection), and they did not hear/see any issues with my exhaust manifold (a culprit of the famous "Hemi Tick"). I had them install new wiper blades and inspect my vehicle. I asked my service advisor if he could see if the oil pan was under warranty, and was immediately told "they won't cover it." I paid my bill and went outside to my truck. When I got to my truck and started it, the ticking noise was very apparent so I went and got the service advisor to show him. He grabbed the shop manager to come and listen as well. Immediately the shop manager says, "he's right the manifold is cracked, we need to get the vehicle in to repair this." I went back inside and the service advisor stated that he would get the manifold on order. I contacted RAM Care to discuss whether or not the oil pan was covered under any warranty that I had on my truck and was informed that they would cover it and that I needed to give this dealership a reference number. This for me was strike one. I asked the advisor to advocate for me and was dismissed as it didn't seem like it was something he wanted to do, so I had to take it upon myself. I notified the service advisor that I had spoken to Ram Care and they gave me a reference number and told me that it would be covered under the "Corrosion Warranty". He was surprised as he's "never heard of such a thing". Once again I was assured that they would order the parts and get my truck fixed. At this point, I went to whom I believe to be the General Manager of the dealership to express my disappointment in the way that this was handled. He spoke to the two men in the service department and vowed to make this right. Chris was the service advisor that would help me from here on out. Two weeks later, and no communication from the dealership as to when I could expect the parts to be received in order for my truck to be repaired. Ram sent me multiple emails asking me to rate my latest service experience at Victor CDJR. I was honest in my survey. I did not give the service department good ratings. The dealership was clean, the waiting area and amenities were sufficient. I rated them well in this aspect. I noted that I would likely not recommend this dealership to others as this experience has certainly put a bad taste in my mouth. Now, here's where it gets interesting. On 2/20/26, Approximately 4 hours after I submitted my review to Ram (corporate), I get a phone call from the service advisor, Chris. "We've received the survey that you filled out and I've talked to my boss. At this point we are going to part ways with you. We are confident that we cannot make you happy. Whichever dealer you take your car to is welcome to request the parts for your truck from us." All because I filled out a survey honestly. No phone call from any management of this dealer. If this is the way that customers are treated for being honest, I will gladly spend my money elsewhere. Never in my life would I expect such a childish response from any dealership. My vehicle is still not repaired, and I'm on the hunt for a dealership that values their customers.

Throughout this period, I called every few days for updates, only to be repeatedly lied to. They claimed they were working on my vehicle when, in reality, it hadn't even moved from the parking lot. Fortunately, a friend who lived nearby kept me informed about its location, confirming that it sat untouched for a month. And I'm not even being dramatic it actually took that long. I asked the dealership for a loaner vehicle to get back and forth to work, but they consistently told me they had none available. I was left with no choice but to use Uber and some days just call in sick, which cost me a lot of money given that my commute is thirty-five minutes each way. The situation became so frustrating that I had to involve the manufacturer, Chrysler, which is unbelievable in itself. Finally, when they ordered the part, Chrysler's customer support team contacted me to confirm its arrival. However, when I called the dealership, they denied having received it. I knew they were lying because the manufacturer's email included a photo of the part being delivered. To make matters worse, I hadn't even had the vehicle for a full year, and it's a lease. I strongly advise against bringing your vehicle to Victor Chrysler or buying a vehicle from them. They are a terrible business, and it's astonishing they're not out of business given all the negative reviews they have. And it's funny because when I was on the phone with them and when I finally picked up my vehicle they asked if I could give them a perfect survey. GTFO
