I've known Scott for years, and he is excellent at what he does. He worked on several foreign cars, and our Porsches, and I would highly recommend CDI, Scott and his partner. They're wonderful. one thing I was amazed by was I took a Prius over and nobody could figure out what this noise was coming from the right front of the car. Scott and I took a quick ride up the road and came back and he immediately knew what it was and fixed it!!! read more

Always great service. My A/C was broken and now it's ice cold. They did my timing chain and front suspension at very good prices. My e30 is so happy now! read more

When, during your cross-country roadtrip in an '84 Vanagon Westphalia is interrupted, just like that-- it is always like this, with cars with people; we, ourselves, are probably too old, in our middle 60's, to have undertaken this trip at all, sans air-conditioning, with our sweet eight-year-old dog-- on Hwy 90 in Fingerlakes region of New York (so close to making it all the way across!), the sudden loss of power indicating something grave, you are thinking, like the main drive belt, & you pull over (plenty of room for a tow-truck, just in case), & toss out all the luggage in back because underneath it is the old engine & you have *two* spare drive belts & can do this repair yourself! Only you can see immediately that the belt is fine. You start the car again: no gears to shift into; we lost the clutch, you are thinking. Then the superb tow-truck driver at Farmington Towing (shout-out! sorry I forgot your name; see: "mid-60's), suggests I call CDI in Victor while he's up-loading the van & Mike, co-owner, answers the phone & says, "I don't even have anywhere to *put* your car & we're booking out three weeks from now & one of our mechanics is on vacation, but, sure, bring it by." Apologies for suspending the punchline for so long, but, after renting a car (shout out to the local Enterprise & Caleb) & thinking we'd be spending the next week exploring the Fingerlakes for the next week (we're fine with that: see "mid-60's), & spending the night in a sweet & vacant yurt (shout-out Plum Point Lodge), Mike at CDI has, overnight!, determined that the clutch cable & assembly are actually fine & that what need repairing are the CV joint & boot (so doable, especially when, as owner, you have a thing for old vw vans & have spare parts in abundance!). Mike has our van back on the road in 24 hours (backup on the lot be damned; he's committed to "getting us back on the road" to complete our cross-country road-trip)! Robert (shout-out: a mechanic who works with Mike) identifies an axel issue (that would have been big trouble further down the road) as well, so they fix that, too. All this to say that CDI Auto Repair in Victor, NY, is one of those magical, necessary stops along the road you didn't even know you needed to encounter. Now writing from Maine just a couple of days later: my grandfather was a great & honest auto mechanic; I know them when I happen upon them. (Shout-out also to Garrett at C & G Auto Repair in Hanksville, UT for his own skillful & timely work to keep us going). Yes, we highly recommend CDI-- among the best auto-repair experiences we've ever had. Skillful, humane, most excellent! read more

Scott at CDI and his talented mechanics went above and beyond for me. I had the very painful experience of blowing a head gasket and needed to have my engine replaced. Again, painful! Volvo dealer was quoting outrageous rates and they already had the car more than a week before I had even gotten a quote...(and I had prepaid them $800 them to take it apart to assess the damage). I was into three weeks of car rental as well. When I found CDI, they handled my job with a more reasonable rate, fit me right into their schedule and did an excellent job. I couldn't be more grateful. Kudos and to Scott and his crew at CDI. Honestly, they could not have been better!! I don't look forward to car repairs, but any future work that needs to be done, I will definitely be going to CDI. For fair, honest and excellent work, they are the real deal. read more

Purchased a car (Alfa Romeo 4C LE) from Mike Lombardo. I am a very picky buyer and ask a lot of questions with requests for lots of documentation and Mike was always extremely responsive. Purchased car remotely and so a lot of faith was placed on the reviews, documentation, Mike's character, and the fact the car had some factory warranty remaining. Received the car and the condition was as-described and beautiful. I would not hesitate to deal with Mike again. read more

Great overall experience. I brought my wife's 325i in for new struts and a bunch of other maintenance work. In addition to the struts the bushings on the supporting rods were replaced, brakes flushed, oil changed (full synthetic), spark plugs, snow tires mounted, general inspection, NY inspection and alignment. The total price was $1679 (about $850 in parts) which I thought was fair. Scott and his crew are really professional and we will certainly be returning in the future. read more

Brought my 2017 VW GTI into CDI to get shocks/lowering springs installed and an alignment. They did an amazing job at a fraction of the price of other garages. I will definitely be back to CDI to get other work done on my VW. Would definitely recommend CDI to anyone looking to get work done on their car. read more

I broke my BMW 135i during the week. I had to have it towed the shop. They wasted no time figuring out what was wrong and fixing it right away. You can tell they know the importance of a car in your daily routine and I am very pleased with the out come. read more

My husband and I were in the market for a gently used car (we were a single vehicle household for too long!!). We searched EVERYWHERE!!! We went all over upstate NY whether it was online or actually driving out to the dealership to look at cars. Can we just talk for a second on why "the price is the price" these days at dealerships?! Why do they refuse to negotiate?! Annoying. Anyways...we found an '08 VW Passat wagon on their website and drove to look at it. It was a great looking car, drove nice, had a lot of bells and whistles. I loved it. We both loved it. We went in, talked about it with Mike, made an offer, he made a counter, we met in the middle. Done deal within 5 minutes. Whaaaaat?! Easiest transaction!! They even had a set of snow tires that came with the car that they gave us (no additional cost!). If we could, we would buy cars from them everyday. They are so easy to work with and did I mention how nice they are? Seriously...they talked to us like we were friends and not just a sale. Hands down, best place to buy a car. They are also a garage and they do a TON of business...specializing in imports. We will definitely be taking our car there for any work that it needs and if we are in the market again for a car...this is where we will be going. No question. read more

Really nice owner. I had a Lexus LS 600 that I usually serviced at Dorschel. I took it in to dorschel bc a check engine light came on. Dorschel hit me with a 9,500 estimate. Scott at CDI looked at ECU codes and said he could do the job for 8 something but recommended that I not perform the repair bc the LS 600 had many parts that aren't shared by any other Lexus. His opinion was get rid of the car. I now get my work done at CDI and have been happy since. read more
