My wife called me with the news, and I was concerned that during the holidays, service and parts resources would be limited. I was able to get a fix on my wife's location and immediately reached out to local repair shops, only to find, as expected, that many were closed for the holidays. Dynamic answered the call and provided the most needed assistance. My wife arrived at the location an hour before opening. Once the mechanics arrived and opened the doors, they quickly evaluated my wife's car. The tension in the situation was relieved when the concern was identified and its severity reduced. We cleared the EVAP system error code, and my wife continued her journey home. There were some complications with administering compensation for the services, but we worked them out.

A week ago, I brought my car in during the recent heat wave to have the A/C compressor clutch…read morereplaced. My A/C was still blowing cold--the clutch was just squealing, and I couldn't stand the noise anymore. I supplied the replacement part myself, and after giving them my vehicle's year, make, model, and engine information, I was quoted $520 for the installation and refrigerant recharge. I agreed to the price and dropped the car off. The next day, they called and said there would be an additional charge because they "weren't aware" of the type of refrigerant my car uses. This was frustrating because they had all of my vehicle information before I even brought it in. Suddenly, the new price was $750. I told them I needed some time to think about it and would call them back. About 5-10 minutes later, they called again and said the compressor clutch bolt was seized and that I would need an entirely new compressor. My options were either to replace the compressor or have them reinstall my old one. No pricing was discussed during this call, so I told them to just put my original compressor back on. A few hours later, I called to see if my car was ready, and they acted like it had been sitting there waiting for me. Then they told me the bill was $390. They eventually agreed to $300 cash, but here's the problem: my A/C worked when I brought the car in, and now it doesn't work at all because they evacuated the refrigerant and never recharged it. I understand to an extent paying for labor. But charging me $300 after leaving my car in worse condition than when I dropped it off is unacceptable. Their labor rate is $130 per hour, and the timeline of the phone calls doesn't seem to support three hours of labor. A little understanding, detailed communication, & customer service would have gone a long way. Instead, they earned $300, a one-star review, and lost a repeat customer.

I will ALWAYS take my cars to ABCO because of their honesty and integrity. My car broke down, and…read moreafter taking it to other shops in the area, I was very frustrated by how I was being treated. I took my car to ABCO, and asked Donny to level with me about whether to sell my car or fix it. It was breaking down every few months, and becoming a money pit for me, and even though I loved the car, I was contemplating getting something more reliable. As a woman without extensive experience in automobiles, I was getting the run-around by other shops who just wanted my money to keep fixing the breakdowns. Donny won my business for life for doing two things. First, he leveled with me and told me that if it was his daughter, he would just get rid of the car and get something safer and more reliable. He didn't want to take my money, only to see me more frustrated the next time it broke down. Second, Donny offered to buy my car as a project car since he could probably fix it and get some use out of it, even with its many issues. I absolutely loved this solution! I loved that car, and just knowing that he could breathe some life back into it, and fix the other major issues when they popped up, well...that meant a lot to me. Now I think of this business as a trusted, ethical, and deeply knowledgeable resource for my next vehicle! He and his wife delivered exceptional customer service, and I think of them as friends now. Not the typical experience I had with other mechanics and their shops! Take your car to ABCO, and you won't regret it! This business deserves YOUR business!
