First, the setting. What a delightful interior once you get past the rather understated exterior. Comfortable spaces, open, airy, not loud but full of sounds of people enjoying themselves. Second, the service. They are on it, immediately. But you never feel rushed. Instead, you feel welcome and valued. Third, the food. I the relish tray--once a mainstay of Montana steakhouses. But this one has hot, creamy cheese dip. And beets! (Well it is eastern Montana). The steaks? Just one of the top 3 New York strips that I have ever savored. PERFECTLY cooked and so so tender. Unbelievably good. Also loved you can have hashbrowns as a side. And my friend loved the rolls plus the halibut. Drinks? Certainly. A decent wine list. Lots of local brews. And well balanced cocktails. Quality is top notch, the quantity is there. The prices are fair, considering everything. What a place!!

Was with great company so there was no complaining at the table. We enjoyed the place so I would go back and try something different, maybe on a quieter night. To compare, we had amazing, perfectly cooked tender and delicious prime rib the following night in a small town tavern for much less $$.

She dutifully tends to her patrons serving up company as well as drinks. We came in during a heat wave and this wasn't the best airconditoned place. The drinks are plenty cold so you should rely on those. They have the usual array of gambling but I am not so inclined, and therefore I can't tell you if they are any good. There is plenty of light and good music too. They had a few drink specials and I wasn't brave enough to try the $1 mystery shot. The bottles of domestic beers are $3 and that is most reasonable. This will be our usual watering hole whenever we hear the call. I look forward to seeing this place again.

She explained that both gals thought the other was helping us, as 2 tables came in at once & turned out neither was. We said it was all good & we really hadn't noticed, they said that they had tho & they were taking off 20% - well, that alone is worth 5 stars. The service, we thought, was great. We only had water to drink but it was never empty and she even asked about ice. We ordered from the specials menu- Kel got the BIG bison burger with the cheeseburger soup for a side, the soup was the star there. I stepped into yet another restaurant with no windows. What's up with that anyway? And pulled up a stool at the bar. It wasn't long before I was getting to know my neighbors.They said Oxfords has some of the best food in town. A place they've frequented since they were teens. Carol is 69 and George is 68. The bartender was equally friendly and quick on his feet. Took care of me quickly and helped me picked out menu items. I munched away on a Rocky Mountain hot dog and a vanilla shake. Nothing fancy but definitely delicious! There's nothing like homemade ice cream. And they cut the hot dog in half and loaded it up with goodies. I don't know why none of the buildings have windows in Havre. Well, not many of them do. So it was kind of nervewracking to go in, but I'm very glad I did. I had a wonderful experience! The bartender even plucked a picture off the wall to show me what downtown Havre used to look like. Many of the buildings are gone and it doesn't shimmer quite like that of an evening.

Well I get to my room and open the to go box, I told my husband they forgot my veggies. I called to inform them I'm missing my veggies. Who gets a burger/sandwich with 6-7 slices or tomatoes and a handful (it was about 15-20) pieces of pickles??? YES!!!! I am upset that I had to walk back to the restaurant while my food is getting cold. Mind you I hate eating cold fries and it's not the same when you reheat it in the microwave. A family member of mine was over-served alcohol. She fell on the property. Her foot was dislocated,…read morebroken, and fractured. This resulted her being in the hospital for a month. She had 5 rods holding her foot together, then 9 screws and 2 plates. Bartenders should know when to cut people off! She still can't walk until this day! This happened in November by the way.
