During my dental procedure my wife observed staff chatting about their personal lives with one another the entire time she waited for me.They then proceeded to claim the office was understaffed. As a child my mom would take us kids to a dentist who must have had a secret love for causing pain. He would drill my cavities without the use of Novocaine. He probably didn't have a pain fetish but, he was definitely too cheap and in too much of a hurry to bother with numbing teeth before drilling them. Needless to say, going to the dentist must have been a hidden fear of mine considering that I have been to the dentist 5 times in 25 years. Thanks to Aspen Dental I have now visited the dentist 12 times in 2 1/2 years. The free exam and x-rays were a nice surprise but, not compared to the pleasant and cheerful staff. Everybody treated me with respect and made me feel comfortable. The dentist who did the exam made sure that it was painless and explained, in detail, in a way I was able to understand exactly what my teeth needed. The staff up front did a great job finding a finance option that suited me. Not once did I feel embarrassed about my condition, all of my questions were answered and explained thoroughly and their knowledge of dentistry was impressive. My teeth are now in good condition and I look forward to my appointments thanks to the great staff at Aspen Dental.

Then the problems began. As I was leaving they promised me they would call me with information that I needed to run the treatment scenario by my insurance. On my way out I also requested that they email me so I would know for sure the proper email to use. I received no such email but I did then proactively email them information that they had requested to their business email. A few weeks went by; no phone call; no email; no communication whatsoever from them. Then, a few months later, I called. The person on the phone didn't acknowledge that I had sent the information I requested. They stated that no such information from me had been received. They also didn't acknowledge their promise to me to provide me the codes so that I could exercise my due diligence and run everything by my insurance. The pleasant (I am being ironic, she was rude) woman I spoke with told me that they were still waiting for information from me. I then informed the pleasant woman that I had the information they needed and requested - again - for them/her to email me so that I could respond with the information they said they needed. (Remember, my prior email was ignored - or never received maybe?) The woman I was speaking to laughed at me derisively for requesting that she be bothered (not an exaggeration, it was a literal "guffaw") with proactively emailing a potential customer. I didn't respond to her disrespectful tone or haughty, derisive laugh and pleasantly requested again that she email me first. She said, essentially, "sure, whatever." (Paraphrasing.) I did not react to the provocations of the receptionist/admin since I did really like the doctors. Of course you know the end of the story. The boss - pardon me, I mean the admin - did not email me. Maybe she's an undercover billionaire boss who runs the practice for fun and not profit; and she doesn't do things for lowly customers. Who knows, regardless, that's what happened. I wasted almost $200 out of pocket (my co-pay), drove quite a ways from my home, and had the pleasure of being disrespected multiple times. I am glad, however, that the admin felt powerful and got joy by being an mischievous gatekeeper. Low quality people enjoy abusing their power. Bottom line, if you can get past reception without losing your cool and get to the doctors (who are actually very pleasant and professional) you might consider this place. But if you are not a masochist then maybe consider a place where the staff CAN be bothered to be nice, professional, and considerate.

I called 3-4 other recommendations and unfortunately, it seems many endodontists in Dutchess County don't take insurance. I have good dental insurance and Dr. Pai was recommended and on my insurance company's "in network" list so I made an appointment. I had nothing but a pleasant experience with the receptionist (Anne Marie) each time I spoke with her. I was originally given an appointment for a consultation a month away, but there was a cancellation and she was able to get me in sooner. She verified my insurance benefits and confirmed I had no copay for any of my visits. There were some long wait times unfortunately for some of my appointments (afternoon appointments). Dr. Brunetti-Pai opened up my root canal twice and cleaned it out, but unfortunately, the problem persisted. The appointments all went smoothly and I had no pain. She referred me to an oral surgeon, also luckily with good reviews and in network, who recommended an implant. If I ever need an endodontist, I would definitely return here, but fingers crossed I don't.

She had a bad tooth, cheek swelled up one morning, we figured it was an infection and made a same day appointment with Tru Dental. Dr. Sung for our first time meeting, came in to see my daughter. She took 1 quick look at the tooth and swelling and told my mom and I she wouldn't send in for oral antibiotics that my daughter was in need of antibiotics through an IV. She was aggressive and shouted at both my mother and I. My husband takes my daughter to the ER that day. The ER told my husband that Dr. Sung pretty much pushed the problem elsewhere and that my daughter was nowhere close to needing an IV. The ER prescribed my daughter oral antibiotics. My daughter had her tooth pulled today by another pediatric dentist who was amazing in Hopewell Junction but Dr. Sung wrote the wrong tooth down in her referral letter. I will never send any of my kids there again and I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone else. On the bright side, being that my experience was as disturbing as it was with Tru Dental, we found a place for our 3 kids that was warm and gentle.

A few weeks ago I visited a dentist and was told I needed a number of things done - 11 cavities, 1 crown, a night guard (even though I told this dentist that I didn't grind my teeth, nor did I preference one side while chewing), as well as a deep gum cleaning. The total charge out of pocket was going to be 4k after my insurance. I decided to get a second opinion from Dr. Gasperini. Dr. Gasperini was so kind and gentle and explained everything that he was going to do before doing it. I never had any of those awkward moments where my mouth was left open needlessly. Very aware of the comfort level of his patients. In the end, Dr. Gasperini told me I needed only one filling! Only one filling! I trust this doctor completely, and have found my new dentist.
