Also, there was snacks and drinks have similar prices to concert and events food and drinks. For the 3 hour tour We took a morning tour. It was not very busy so there's a lot of space to move around. The most popular spot was the very front (bottom level). It's calm though it might be a little long for some. For the 5 hour tour: We took an afternoon/evening tour. Despite how busy it is, it was cool to visit and step foot on Boldt Island. Also, make sure you know which boat you were on as there will be multiple tour boats from other companies in the area. The Island and Castle were larger than I thought. The achitecture and interior were gorgeous and impressive. From what I remember, I think the gift shop accepts both currencies.

In particular, we wanted to go on the 2.5 Hour boat tour and loved the beauty, history and the locals enjoying the water too! The second portion was visiting the Famous Heart Island where George C. Boldt, millionaire proprietor of the world famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, set out to build a full size rhineland castle in Alexandria Bay, on picturesque Heart Island.  The grandiose structure was to be a display of his love for his wife, Louise. The structures on the island were amazing! I personally LOVE architecture and history so this was a fantastic experience! Had it been Pre-Covid times, we would have been able to disembark from the boat and explored the island, as the Americans were doing. But because it is technically on the American side of the St Lawrence River, and because of the pandemic, we could only admire it from afar. We can't wait for warmer weather so we can go back and visit!

Very nice staff and captain, very welcoming Good for if you like sightseeing and bird watching (many different birds) (swans,geese,ect) They have another tour that's 5hr long sadly I couldn't do that tour due to the tour boat being under renovation or something. That was the tour they would take you to the castle near by. The cruise was clean, and it didn't smell inside the deck which was nice They had a bar where you could get beer, fountain soda, and snacks They had a bathroom on boat, the cruise itself for when we were actually on water was nice they have a top deck where you could be (which I was) was nice, it was windy but that's expected. It's simple math and these are estimates of course are based on the average operating cost I found after extensive research sort of. Vessel Initial Cost 7.1 million dollars Operating Cost per year 6.1 millions dollars x 40 years = $244,000,000 Total Estimated Cost $251,100,000 or $179,000 per resident over the 40 years that the Wolfe Islander III has been operating. I've been to Wolfe Island it's beautiful they have great pastries, hayfields and 88 windmills, couldn't they have built a bridge by now? The Island is approximately 48 square miles the ferry schedule requires about 23,506 round trip crossings a year transporting 717,954 vehicles, 1,716,816 passengers, 13,605 motor bikes and 21,971 bicycles. A $5.00 toll each way per vehicle would net almost $1,400,000 a year after expenses and probably greatly reduce the traffic, this doesn't take into account walk-ons.. Just as a comparison to cross Long Island Sound from Bridgeport, CT to Port Jeff, NY on the ferry is $56 each way with one passenger. I know everything isn't about money but common sense should at least be a consideration this is a big beautiful boat weighing in at more than 890 tons loaded - traveling at 18 knots it's a awesome ride I hope to do it again soon the price is definitely right....

Best bang for the buck we got on our multi city family vacation tour…read more I booked one night here a few weeks in advance. I immediately got my confirmation booking. It's right off the highway which made it as convenient as we needed it to be since we were not playing tourista and only needed to meet family at a resto reunion, no access to downtown on foot required. The room was super clean and quiet, the quiet being the result of my ask to be as far away from noise given the 2 queen bed rooms still available when I booked. The bathroom looked newly renovated and equally spotless. We were given our 3 keys and it was the most comfortable night we had of the 3 hotels we stayed at (here besides our Ottawa Best Western and Montreal Hotel Alt.) Breakfast was the good old classic chain hotel continental standard. I really had to give the whole layout the once-over to make sure I could get exactly what I would like given their offerings. I really had to work for my 2 decaf coffees! One pod in the room, and get someone at front desk to brew my a.m. one. These guys are smart and know where to keep costs down while keeping the most important things in good working order! I believe one other recent change is that the bathroom products are Dove instead of some "premium" brand previously. Fine with me, I use a lot of Dove at home bc I think it's great stuff. My favourite part is where the price I was quoted at booking is EXACTLY what I'm told I owe when we checked out, and that's an important part of why this hotel is the only review with 5 stars compared to Best Western and Hotel Alt (by Germain.) I will start looking for Holiday Inn chain hotels instead of BW or Germain from now on. My only beef is with the mandatory IHG vacation time sell pitch you have to listen to and fob off sales talk for if you want extra IHG loyalty points. Won't ever bother with that again since I don't travel so much and hate rewards incentives instead of up front cash costs anyway. 100% recommend Holiday Inn Express based on this and previous stays at other locations.

It was an amazing experience going on a boat ride in thousand islands. You can choose from 3…read morepackages: 1-hour, or 3-hour, or 5-hour ride; each one with a different route. We thought the 3-hour trip was the most suitable one for us since it's not that short that you miss a lot of the islands and not that long to be tiring. The 5-hour boat ride will drop you off at the Boldt Castle so that you can explore the castle at your own pace. The islands are very beautiful and it's nice to pass by the cottages and mansions and learn more about some of them. The guided tour is specifically helpful as you learn more about the history as well.

After I read some discoraging reviews on Google Maps, I was scared to try them. I was recommended this place and was then on the phone with the front desk, Elyse. She sounded very sweet and helpful. She didn't have any rooms for three but she thought of getting me a Queen and adding a cot on the side. I was so happy to hear her accommodation. So on I went to look for this Hotel. I found myself at the corner of West and King and lost. I called her again, and she came out to look for me and wave me down. I was so impressed already. She found me and directed me to the parking lot in the back. Some Logistics: I paid $179 after taxes for a one night stay on a Monday evening this past week. The interior reminded me of a rich man's house in the 1800s. The terrace was just an amazing place to sit and have some tea and a conversation. The common/living room was very warmly decorated and inviting. The WiFi is free and showed decent signal in the common room. It got a little flaky out by the terrace. I lived in 204 and the bedroom really wowed me. It felt like a hostel but a hotel version. You feel like you're walking into 1800 era royalty bedroom. There's a small bathroom with toilette, bathtub with shower head and a sink. In another small room, a separate sink and mini fridge. In the bedroom area, there's a tv, some wardrobes and a pretty funky mirror. There's enough plugs around the room for all your electronics, (maybe 10 all around, really impressive for some house built in the 1800s). Elyse, the Front Desk Attendant, showed us the room to make sure all is well. She moved the cot right out of the storage room into my room. She even offered us complementary tea and coffee and whether we'd like to have it in our room or down in the living room. And so I couldn't say no and enjoyed my green tea in the living room while checking in to this place on Facebook over their free WiFi =) . It came close to 10:30pm and she had to lock up the place and end her shift. We still chatted about each other while she finished closing up. Had a rather intellectual conversation over her Philosophy research and the definition of happiness. We later spent the rest of the night on the terrace and bid farewell to Elyse as she went home. My heart sank a little to see her go =(. She was such a great hostess. The cot was fairly comfortable. I didn't have much problems with my sleep other than it was a bit warm in the room. I should have turned on the AC before passing out on the bed. Morning came, and breakfast was waiting for me downstairs. We had breakfast together out on the terrace. It seemed like there were a total of 7 tables and 4 were taken. A complimentary light breakfast was offered in a very nice set-up on an antique tray. It came with an english muffin with your choices of jams and cheese. Coffee and tea and orange juice was on my table. After breakfast, I handed in my keys and made my way to my sister's convocation at Queens.=) Concluding statement: All in all, I was very impressed with this Hotel and their service. The room is only 10ft X 10ft. No closet or drawer space for belongings. The bathroom is incredibly small with no counter space for toiletries and the air conditioner is so noisy that it woke both my husband and I all night. Earplugs are required. At $400 per night I expected better. After about 4 or 5 successful stays I will not be returning, nor can I recommend it to anyone.

Service With a Heart -…read more Recently visited a Service Ontario location and witnessed first-hand how a manager responded to a situation involving someone who had clearly been without shelter for quite some time. The manager took the time to speak to them and went above & beyond to put the individual in touch with someone who could ensure they were taken care of. The staff at the counter and front desk were equally kind and attentive, and the service I received was on par with what I witnessed. We need more people like this!

I visited Service Ontario to change my provincial health card and driver's license from NS to ON. I…read morefind the general information on the website confusing, so I armed myself with my passport, proof of address, birth certificate and every form of ID I could think of so the experience would go smoothly. This location gets busy, so expect a wait. But, the employees are all very friendly and helpful. My only disappointment is that I could only get my health card transfered; for driver's license I need to visit a road test centre, even though Service Ontario issues car related things like license plates etc. Note that if you do come close to closing time, as long as you get in the door before close, they will serve you; you'll just have to wait a bit!
