Just be sure to book ahead if you plan to come on a weekend or holiday. We opted for an express tour which is 45 minutes. I wish we were able to join the standard tour which is twice as long, but we booked a bit too last minute. Evan H was our tour guide and he was extremely knowledgable with a great sense of humor. He had such a great amount of fun facts and kept the tour on a really good pace given the limited amount of time, everything we wanted to see, and spacing between us and the tours ahead or behind us. He answered all our questions and made the story telling really fun and interesting. Understanding that he does multiple tours a day, I'm really grateful that he maintains the energy and enthusiasm for the tour and history. That's really tough to do on this type of job. We got to see a lot of the major areas and learned about escapes, riots, how they did things in the 1800's versus the next century. It's really fascinating to learn the broad history of this building and the people that have come through it. Truly respect the individuals that guard our prisons in Canada. The standard tour would have definitely allowed us to see more areas and spend more time learning about specific historic events. But this express tour still gave us a lot to see, learn and experience. Would definitely recommend doing this tour if you're in Kingston or nearby. It's such a fascinating history of our country and so interesting to think how this city evolved over the past two centuries.

I've never had the wine in NY so I was excited to try 5 in one go. They pick up at the Arsonel Wine and Liquor store and drive you around to 5 different places. The bus driver, Jim, was very nice and drove well. I definitely felt safe in his hands. The bus itself was nice. It had an on-board bathroom and was actually a really smooth ride for a bus. They were able to get you a good lunch/brunch buffet on the tour which was awesome. Jim seemed to have a good rapport with the owners of the wineries and that was super! This made the experience that much better. If you're into wine and need something to do on a Sunday, I would absolutely recommend this tour. :)

It was amazing to see how well the trip was coordinated between the Upper Canada Playhouse, Mackintosh Inn, and several other bus companies and organizations. The bus arrived on time at the Louis Street lot, where there was plenty of free parking right in the centre of Brockville. The bus driver was very courteous and professional, and we were able to get front row seats which my sister needed as she gets bus/car sick easily. The coach was very comfortable and warm and the driver helped everyone get in and out as needed. The buffet at the Inn was organized into different scheduled seatings with the various groups arriving at different times. Aside from the deadline to board the bus to get to the play, we were able to leisurely take our time to eat and chat, and the food was plentiful, homestyle, really delicious and well prepared. Every single person in the room was a senior, so the menu was designed to cater to (mainly white) older people from the local area. The playhouse was fully booked with the numerous groups on their tours, and we had an enjoyable time watching the show, with plenty of time for a "pit stop" before boarding the bus for a relaxing trip home to Brockville. Although the weather was a smidge snowy and sleety, the driver was confident and careful. When we gave a small tip upon arriving at the Louis Street lot, he seemed surprised and was very thankful. I totally recommend this company and also a big shout out to Ashley at the office for being so patient with my phone calls to book. This was my first ever "senior's bus tour" and it really exceeded my expectations. The cost was $135 per person inclusive which was totally worth it.

My boyfriend and I took a trip to Prince Edward County and a wine tour was a high priority on our…read morelist. I checked out a few options, and PEC Wine Tours gave you the most bang for your buck. We did a half day tour that would bring you to at least 5 wineries. We were staying in Picton and were advised that there was no problem picking up and dropping off at our location. Cathie came to pick us up in a limo. She introduced herself and explained what the plan was for the day and gave us a map of the area. She was cheerful and friendly throughout our tour. We picked up 2 more couples and were brought to 5 wineries. Each one gave us a unique experience; there was a carbon neutral winery, one with an outdoor sculpture garden, another one with delicious cheese accompaniments and more. Since we were making good time, Cathie even took us to a 6th winery! We had a great time, and ended up buying a case of wine and some meats, cheeses and crackers from the different wineries. This was an incredible experience! My husband booked this tour for part of our vacation. I was a…read morebit apprehensive as I have a tendency to get seasick but hubby explained that he talked to the tour company and they would make sure to stay in as calm waters as possible. I was still a tad leery when I got on the boat (which was a pontoon boat, as it was going to be a little more stable per the captain). I felt bad cuz I know hubby really liked the older "antique" boat but he was happy as I made it through the tour without even feeling queasy. Huge win for us both! (and probably a win for the captain as well, lol) The tour was incredible - Captain Ed knew so much history of the islands and we feel that we got a better experience than the mass public tour boat that was going around with a the loud speaker. If ever in the area again, I would not hesitate to book again with Captain Ed!
