Others could have gone in a different vehicle, but we all wanted to be together. - They were approx. 20min late picking us up (but they were able to pick us up and drop back off at our airbnb location which was awesome). It was a difficult location to find so I can't fault them too much on that, and they ended up making up for it with an awesome wine tour and taking us to an extra location since we went through them quite fast (probably because it was rainy and terrible weather, so we got a lot of the wineries to ourselves). - I was disappointed that they picked us up in a mini-van. I thought it was going to be a little more roomy like the photo of the small bus on the other review, so it kind of changed the "party" mood. - Wine tour guide was awesome- fun and very personable. -Great locations and we bought a ton of wine (would love to do again in better weather so we can really enjoy the vineyards). Skip this place unless you don't mind ridiculous tasting fees. I have tasted wine all over the world at some of the finest wineries, including small boutique producers and have never paid this price. The only reason I tasted here is that I was dumb enough not to look at the prices and too embarrassed to back out once the tasting started. There are other small wineries in PEC that produce better quality wines that don't have that homemade backyard taste and they charge $3-5 for an ounce tasting.

We arrived at 12 pm and there was roughly a line of five people ahead of us and heaps of people leaving the store with pizza boxes. The parking lot was busy. While in line, we met the owner Anthony. Based on our conversation, one could tell that he is passionate about what he does and enjoys it. He spoke of his training in Italy and that he is one of the few Pizzaiolo in Canada. After hearing this, we ordered a bottle of white wine (Vidal) and a calabrese pizza. Their patio was full and the owner set up a table with his chairs from Tuscany by the entrance/exit to the kitchen. He said that when the restaurant is sometimes full, he used to bring out his own furniture. The pizza was phenomenal. Anthony said that he wakes up at 5 am to start on the dough, but was unable to share his secrets on how great the dough was. It had more of a phyllo texture and the meat was delicious. Overall, we very much enjoyed our experience learning about the history.

We came in for a quick tasting of their wines and the hosts are clearly knowledgable about their wines. They offered our large party 4 different wines for tasting at $7 per person, and it comes with a nice discussion on the flavours to be expected and a bit of background about the wines and vineyard. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, and it's easy to see why there was quite a bit of traffic at this vineyard. No reservations are necessary but it's best to check with them if you have a very large group. Note that they have very friendly Goldens roaming the fields a bit (they are the "Branch Managers"), definitely adds points to the already 5 star review!

As we left the dock and headed out into the SENECA River, Annette gave us a history of the Erie ( now called "Barge") canal. Our captain contributed a few stories to make it even more interesting. As we glided down the River on our pontoon boat, we saw sea birds both at the rivers edge and in flight. As we got ready to go through the Baldwinsville lock, the lock tender gave us some info on the equipment. This is the oldest operating lock in the system. After going through the lock, we stopped and picked up lunch from a man working for the Angry Smokehouse. We had a delicious lunch on the return trip. The crew couldn't be more gracious and we had a blast. There is a bar on board the boat, which made trip even better! Check out the website for the list of tours available.
