We particularly love the ginger and plum, and peach and lavender. We are glad we brought them home. Thank you Caroline for setting up our breakfast table so beautiful two mornings in a row. Honestly, there are not many B&B provides such quality and heart-felt breakfast with this reasonable price. There are 3 guest rooms in this 1862-built house. All are well maintained and cleaned. The linen for the bedding is soft and good quality. The bed is comfortable. Most importantly, it has free wifi. For those who are allergic to cats, please note there are several very friendly and layback cats in the house. However, I guess they are all well trained because I did not see them wandering on the guest room floor once. We will come visit Grove Cottage B&B again this Summer :)

We drove down to Sandbanks for the day which took us all of 10 minutes. Then we did some wineries which were no more than 10-15 minutes away. The main strip of Picton is about a 3 min drive away with plenty of dinner spots available. Wellington is only 15 min away where there are more restaurants farmers markets etc. If you're a couple, I highly recommend asking for the room at the front (Queen bed, ensuite, large window at the foot of the bed). Very romantic and if the weather plays ball, waking up with that window open, birds chirping and the morning light pouring in is incredible. We will be back!!!

Cribs is what you're after! Cribs is made up of two large homes converted into a modern, multi-suite hotel mere steps to the Drake and other restaurants in Wellington. The hotel has a fire pit and beautifully appointed communal kitchens, if you're traveling with a group using a few rooms. Most importantly they have luxurious king sized beds, fancy cable TV and disco showers. Yes, you read that correctly.

It's located right off the 401 and surrounded by places to eat within walking distance. The room was a bit dated, but in good shape. The beds were comfortable. The shower had low pressure, but showers are hit and miss. I had the complimentary breakfast, and it actually was a small step up from a continental with bacon and eggs offered. They gave us maps and directions to touristy things in the area, like the wine- and beer-tours through Prince Edward County. We had a fun day toutling round the area to celebrate our wedding anniversary, thanks to those maps and directions. Downer: it's in a stand alone building, away from the downtown Belleville core. We usually hit the area just south of the 401, where all the fun and glitz and glamour of Belleville can be found. This CAA outlet is a bit of a drive. We had time on this particular date to drive around, so ok. At least now we know where it is.

The other room is downstairs and the bathroom is shared, but has the walk out and lake view. The hosts are great and super friendly and they were more than happy to accommodate the dietary restrictions, just as gluten-free and vegetarian. Breakfast was wonderful and having it in a beautiful setting with a pretty amazing waterfront view, just really adds to the feel and mood of a quick weekend getaway. The pricing was extremely reasonable, and while Avanti isn't in the heart of the action, the location was still within driving distance to most of the major attractions in Bloomfield and Picton. Avanti will probably be my Bed and Breakfast pick for when I come to PEC for a weekend getaway.
