A beautifully decorated space right on Lake Ontario. This place has an upscale yet casual feel with great food, drinks, and a wide range of options. We ordered the Drake Burger with fries and drinks on a Thursday afternoon. There were a few tables full, but it was off-season. I imagine this area would be packed in the summer months! The burger and fries were good - my mom's absolute favourite. This place is definitely somewhere to check out if you're in the area! Give it a whirl!

I remember my first ever getaway was visiting Prince Edward County, and Drake Devonshire was one of the must-visit restaurants on my list. It is located inside Drake Devonshire Inn, with lots of rooms for staycation in PEC :) There isn't a lot of parking at the Inn, but you can certainly park on Wellington Main Street, and walk down to the restaurant. I've been coming back to this restaurant ever since. I do recommend coming here during the day for breakfast/brunch/lunch because you will get to enjoy the amazing water view! Night time is romantic too with the glowing, warm and rustic chic decor :) Most recent visit was in April 2022. We had a nice corner table at the back of the restaurant. Order cocktails to start, and shared the following: - Duck wings is a must-order! Dressed with maple syrup, and comes with a Sriracha-spiked buttermilk ranch dip! - The mushroom pappardelle was very creamy and had lots of mushrooms! Unfortunately, this dish was a tad salty for me. - Highly recommend the hazelnut chocolate tart. It was not too sweet, and the drunken cherries was a nice touch! I definitely want to come back for brunch another time. Until next time :) . . . The All-Ontario, Road Trip-Worthy, farm-to-table Restaurant Series (2 of 17)

Hip nouveau spot in on-trend Wellington, Prince Edward County. The ambiance is fantastic, a hive of nightlife amidst its pastoral surroundings and a luxurious view of the lake from an equally luxurious terrace. We reserved the last table of a Saturday night at 7:45pm so considered ourselves lucky for a coveted seating time with a same day booking. There happened to be what looked like a wedding party in one of the dining rooms so we expected the kitchen would be busy. My three star rating would be four if it were not for the service. Food, atmosphere, and even the staff themselves were all pleasant and deserving of a solid testimonial. However, when a party of two orders two drinks, one appetizer, and two mains and the restaurant gets two wrong, that translates to a meagre grade of 60% (see how I did the math there?). On top of that, service was slow, which we understood and accepted but there was more to it. Two couples seated after us were served before us. One even had paid the bill and left before my wife got the main she ordered. My drink order was mixed up - fine, they fixed it promptly. But then my wife's main was wrong while my steak arrived perfectly cooked. So now i'm being polite and not starting my meal and my wife is wondering if there was just a serving mix up and her dish is coming imminently. But no such luck. Her dish took a full 10 minutes more and by then I was halfway through my meal, which she insisted I tuck into before it got cold. Her main finally arrived and it was very good. Our server was nice enough but took very little ownership of the errors and made no effort to compensate us. Comping the bread we ordered would have been the least they could do. But no, our mediocre service experience was just an acceptable casualty of a busy night at the hottest spot in the County. The Drake Devonshire is a lovely space in a stunning setting serving really good food. How they serve it and how you experience it is a crapshoot...and the house always wins.

I loved my breakfast here so much and the view of Lake Ontario, that we came back twice! Food was delicious and the atmosphere is very trendy. Service was a little slow, but it didn't detract from the overall vibe or experience.

People come here for the views. The food isn't it. Especially considering the prices and the lack of an actual proper mains for people to eat. I got the steak frites. I asked for medium well and I received rare. The saving grace was probably the server who didn't catch an attitude when I asked for him to take it back to the kitchen to have it cooked again. My friend ordered soon and she asked for a slice of break on the side. The server charged us for a basket of 8 with extra SALT! We literally had to scrape the salt off just to eat it. I wouldn't consider this place as an option for dinner. Not much food selections and if you don't eat pork, it makes it hard to even order a pasta dish. Waste of money.

Best brunch spot in Wellington. Right on the water, you get a fabulous view of Lake Ontario while eating. We were a large group but they were very accommodating and given there were so many of us, the time it took to get the food and drinks out felt reasonable. I got the nitro espresso martini and it was fabulous, either a very smooth taste. The chicken and waffles was the star of the show. The crispiness of the juicy fried chicken paired very nicely with the fluffy waffles. The syrup was balanced out nicely with the dill ranch. The only thing I wouldn't do again is get the fries. Though they were good, $9 for what felt like the quantity of a small McDonald's fry wasn't worth it in my opinion.

Our "coup de coeur" of our trip. Amazing ambiance. Can fit boho chic to chic styles. The musician was awesome. We sat on the outdoor terrace and the view is amazing. A must for our next trip back. Food is amazing. My fish and chip a little too greasy tasing wise, but the rest...just perfect. Great food without pretentiousness.

My girls and I came here for brunch after our trip to PEC. It was great! Great views, good food, cute patio. The price is approximately $18-30. They have a cocktail menu, and a good brunch selection :) parking is located alongside the Main Street, which is approximately 5 minute walk to the front. To start we ordered the scones, which were definitely worth coming back for. So please do order this as it is a MUST try! Crispy on the out, soft on the inside. Ouuf. A hint of blueberry with almost a hint of lemony poppyseed taste! MMMM!!! Complimented with cream and berry jam. I ordered the salmon eggs Benny - the eggs were cooked to a medium perfection, and the smoked salmon complimented very well with hollandaise sauce!! Mmm. The hollandaise sauce was a little too salty/buttery for my liking, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. The home style fries are also a great touch. My girls ordered the fried chicken and waffles and yummy! Crunch perfection, and a big portion of each! Would definitely come back if feeling for a patio with a view. Tip- make reservations ahead of time as it does get packed quickly!! (Especially if you want a patio seat)

This place is a little overhyped! We sat on the patio on a Saturday at around 5pm. The cocktails were delicious but the food was a little disappointing because it was served lukewarm. I had the eggplant balado which was tasty and surprisingly spicy. The menu seems overpriced. I would not return and I would highly recommend East and main bistro across the street as an alternative!

Classic Drake breakfast

As a party of four, we made reservations three weeks in advance and booked the 8:45 am slot. The only slots available on the booking site were 8:30 am and 8:45 am for Saturday and an 8:30 am slot on Sunday. We had heard and seen lots of positive reviews for the Drake. When we arrived, we marvelled at the artwork as we walked to our table on the patio. Many of the tables were full at this time, however after 9:30 am, many of the tables were empty and we weren't clear if it was even necessary to make a reservation ( I would suggest calling in to confirm if you can do walk-ins during this time. We ordered an earl grey tea, two classic Drake's, folded egg sandwich and the eggs benny. In the classic Drake breakfast, it was a lot of variety. The bacon and the home fries were not crispy. As a result of the home fries not being crispy, it tasted very starchy and was not seasoned well. The positive on this was the delicious sourdough bread and sausage. My partner had the folded egg sandwich. He was unable to finish all the arugula as he found it too sharp for his liking. He said the egg sandwich was ok. Overall, you're really paying for the novelty of dining at the Drake, which initially feels exclusive as a result of lack of reservation times and limited seating area. The food was nothing to rave about. After our meal, it was nice to sit by the water and skip rocks, but the experience was definitely not worth the price tag.

A very cozy restaurant inside the Drake Hotel, with a nice interior as well as a patio with a great view of the lake. The food was good but the County Lavender Sour drink was the most memorable for me. It looked super pretty and tasted sooo good! Usually drinks with lavender are too overpowering but this one was perfect. A must visit when in Prince Edward County.

Dining with a view of the Lake! Drake Devonshire probably the nicest restaurant in the area. The outside area has a nice set up along the lake front. And if you prefer, the main dining room area has huge windows and set up like a sun room and you won't miss the excellent view. Service here was attentive. Our waitress was patient and accommodating. Food is a hit but for sure is a little pricey for what we got. I would not come here for cheap eat but more a treat or if you want to impress your date. Highly recommend if you want to have a more exclusive experience in PEC.

So let me tell you about this place....it started out weak. Our server "Maxwell" seemed less than interested in providing service. It took about an hour for us to begin to get the service we wanted. And then the food came. Let me tell you the food was outstandingly delicious! The eggs benny was beyond scrumptious. The ham...the perfectly poached eggs...the arugula, all delicious! It came with a house sausages, they were off the scale delicious. In fact I feel confident in saying they were the most delicious breakfast sausage that I've ever eaten. Then to top it all off, it was the Blueberry Scones. They were fluffy blueberrieie & delicious. Included were the blueberry jam & whip cream. All fantastic! This is definitely a do-over. P.S. the house Caesars are pretty damn good.

I had no problem finding this location. It's across from a gas station that is still being built. There was plenty of parking. I am a platinum elite member, so I got points as my welcome gift. I got my room cards and was shown where the elevators were. I love TownePlace Suites because you get a kitchenette. My room was compact. If you like roomy, perhaps this place isn't for you. It was roomy enough for me. However, it didn't have a luggage rack. It wasn't a big deal, though. I ended up placing my luggage on the floor and unpacked that way. Anyway, the kitchenette was stocked with an entire full bottle of dishwasher liquid soap. This is rare and a first for me. I have either been happy with a tiny bottle or had to ask the front desk for a bottle. I loved the generosity! I fixed myself snacks and made my smoothie drink with my personal blender. Breakfast is served downstairs. Otherwise, you can always make meals in your room for variety. I slept extremely well. I was on the top floor, which was quiet. The bed was comfortable and spacious. I watched TV from both my bed and the sofa. I was extremely comfortable. The washroom was clean. The shower was great. The water pressure was perfect. Housekeeping did a great job with my room. I was pleased. This hotel is within walking distance from Shoreline Casino, which is next door. You can roll out of the bed and then roll dice at the casino in two minutes tops.
