We did a half day tour that would bring you to at least 5 wineries. We were staying in Picton and were advised that there was no problem picking up and dropping off at our location. Cathie came to pick us up in a limo. She introduced herself and explained what the plan was for the day and gave us a map of the area. She was cheerful and friendly throughout our tour. We picked up 2 more couples and were brought to 5 wineries. Each one gave us a unique experience; there was a carbon neutral winery, one with an outdoor sculpture garden, another one with delicious cheese accompaniments and more. Since we were making good time, Cathie even took us to a 6th winery! We had a great time, and ended up buying a case of wine and some meats, cheeses and crackers from the different wineries. It was a difficult location to find so I can't fault them too much on that, and they ended up making up for it with an awesome wine tour and taking us to an extra location since we went through them quite fast (probably because it was rainy and terrible weather, so we got a lot of the wineries to ourselves). - I was disappointed that they picked us up in a mini-van. During my initial call with Tina, she was pleasant, helpful and incredibly knowledgeable about the county and all of its offerings. While I had some ideas in mind, Tina offered some helpful suggestions and was more than happy to customize a tour based on our interests. She provided a contact number in the event that we were running behind, and she was happy to accommodate the start of our tour to our arrival time. On the day of the tour, Mark was early, which was great! He had a box all ready for our purchases, and the car was clean, cooled down (it was a REALLY hot day), and our route was al planned out. We were fortunate to have a private tour on the day we booked, likely because it was mid-week--what a treat! Mark gave us some county history as we wound around, up and down the many county roads. While our tour had initially included 5 stops, due to our efficiency, Mark was happy to add two additional wineries of interest to the back end of our tour, including a stop for pizza at Huff Estates, which did not disappoint! Overall, the style of Tina's Tours matched with what we were hoping for--knowledge, great value, and plenty of stops to help us restock our wine supply. If you are someone who is looking to taste with the intent of purchasing, this would be the only company I would consider. Their rates are much lower than other companies in the county, and I also felt that the tour provided the best possible value and service. Many other tour companies in the county will tout their price as including tasting fees, but don't be fooled: most wineries will waive the tasting fee with a purchase of wine (amounts vary from winery to winery), so Tina's Tours presents a MUCH better value for service. Plus, Mark was entertaining and had a lot to share about the county. We're already planning our next trip down with a new list of wineries to visit. I really enjoyed the variety of white and red fruit wines. The ciders were also great. The grape one tastes like grape whelches juice.
