It started in Clayton NY and went up past Alexandria Bay. There was a delightful announcer who filled us all in on what we were seeing along the way. If you visit Clayton, don't miss this boat trip. Boldt Castle is breathtaking. https://www.boldtcastle.com/visitorinfo/about This trip was worth 100 stars.

A drink and potato chips were furnished with our picnic lunch. If one were to get thirsty after the supplied drink was consumed, there was a limited bar serving soda, beer, and a few choices of mixed drinks. Dennis, the tour guide was the bar tender. The tour included viewing several islands with a discussion of the various homes and buildings on them. The star attraction was Boldt Castle We were given 1.5-hrs to tour the Castle, and it was amazing. The other disembarkment was at a historic lighthouse, which tourists could climb the 256 steps for a grand view of the St. Lawrence River. We had a great time, and I recommend to anyone who visits the Alexandria Bay or Clayton area to jump on board

I've been wanting to come for this tour since I heard about it. Not only is it the oldest…read morereformatory prison, it's also held some pretty notable names from Canadian true crime. We booked the extended tour, to allow me to soak in as much as we could. At just over $70/pp for 2.5 hr tour, it's a steal. Our tour guide, Josh, was epic. Very upfront and knowledgable and funny! He was very honest at the beginning on the tour (and unfortunately had to reiterate and be a little firmer during the tour itself) regarding questions about current Federal inmates. Essentially a) that it is against the privacy act to discuss those inmates and b) he won't discuss them, out of respect for the victims and their families. More than fair and honourable. I'm as interested as the next person in Bernardo, McArthur, Williams and others, but knew going into this tour it wasn't a tour about serial killers and I didn't expect much, if any, info regarding them. If that's why you're going, don't waste your time. The tour is very respectful of the victims and their families. The actual tour is amazing. Josh was very knowledgeable, sharing stories in almost every area of the prison of things gone on there. He shared his own ghost story from working at the Pen. The architecture is beautiful. The roof in one of the shops is one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever seen. The Pen is getting old and it's showing it's age. But it's definitely worth the tour, if just for the history and architecture. Only con- End of season, so I wasn't able to get my size in the gift shop

They unfortunately due to federal law can't talk about any prisoners that were there for the most part. It's a bit pricey $80 for two tickets. In particular, we wanted to go on the 2.5 Hour boat tour and loved the beauty, history and the locals enjoying the water too! The second portion was visiting the Famous Heart Island where George C. Boldt, millionaire proprietor of the world famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, set out to build a full size rhineland castle in Alexandria Bay, on picturesque Heart Island.  The grandiose structure was to be a display of his love for his wife, Louise. The structures on the island were amazing! I personally LOVE architecture and history so this was a fantastic experience! Had it been Pre-Covid times, we would have been able to disembark from the boat and explored the island, as the Americans were doing. But because it is technically on the American side of the St Lawrence River, and because of the pandemic, we could only admire it from afar. We can't wait for warmer weather so we can go back and visit!

The company states on their website of the following: "Join us on a 1-hour cruise taking you closer than any other cruise available in the 1000 Islands." Roughly six years ago my mother and I had the opportunity to visit the 1000 Islands through a traveling agency. I cannot recall the company we had used to sail the 1000 Islands, but I' am carefully assuming it was Rockport Cruises. I may be completely wrong. This summer my mother and I were excited to bring the rest of my family to explore the 1000 Islands. The rest of my family members have never been to the islands. My mother and I were completely unsatisfied with the tour and how Gananoque Boat Lines website descriptions were misleading. Rockport cruises took us closer than Gananoque Boat Lines to the 1000 Islands. Gananoque Boat Lines 1 hour cruise only goes around, and not into the heart of the 1000 Islands. I would strongly advise travelers to avoid the BEAUTY OF THE ISLANDS CRUISE. Such a shame.

The sites on this loop have a max length of 40' back-in, but when we drove them, there is absolutely no way that there were more than 2 spots that would have accommodated this and it wouldn't have been an easy fit unless you're very experienced with backing in a camper/5th wheel. The sites were extremely close together as well, with no mature trees, and not real parking for cars. Also, we noticed a trend of cars taking up extra spots and many cars for one site spilling over into others sites. We stayed in H10 and he sites were much more spacious. There were no mature trees around the campsite at all, but plenty of room for our kids to roam and play. The sites are electric only with water pump stations around. Luckily, we were situated in a spot that we could run hose to the spigot for water. We would suggest having an extra 100-150' of hose if you're planning to stay here. There is a cute park right on this loop for the kids to play at. The dump stations had very low water pressure making it difficult to flush the black tank. Additionally, they only had 3 spots for dump which meant there is a wait and it kind of sucked in the rain. We did see a lot of wildlife which was fun for the kids (and man). It was fairly quiet even though our loop was completely full. The scenery is beautiful. The river is gorgeous and fishing was fun. It was harder to find a spot to fish from - you cannot fish from the piers which is very inconvenient with little kids to navigate wet rocks and risk a fall. They have a few very nice boating docks to launch from. The store has very minimal supplies - be ready to make sure you don't need anything, or you'll have to pay the toll to get across the bridge to get to the grocery store. There are no grocery stores on the island. There is no gas stations on the island currently and there is one being remodelled. Hopefully, it'll be ready next year. It was a nice stay, but it was not as epic as we had hoped to be (and it had been hyped to be). It really isn't our go to for the future.

It is easy to find the place and some sites have some leaves or branches covered which is you need to look carefully. I gave this park 5 stars for amazing nature and location. 4 stars for bathroom because limited showers per bathroom sites even though we have a lot of sites. They have washing station next to the bathroom sites which are great and get 5 stars for this! We all need some place to wash our stuff from cooking. 5 stars for grill station that they are in great condition which is I did not expect that! Bring a lot of bug sprays because they have more insects that you don't see that often in area where you normally live. Overall staying there for camping is a wonderful place and definitely family friendly!!
