I was a…read morebit apprehensive as I have a tendency to get seasick but hubby explained that he talked to the tour company and they would make sure to stay in as calm waters as possible. I was still a tad leery when I got on the boat (which was a pontoon boat, as it was going to be a little more stable per the captain). I felt bad cuz I know hubby really liked the older "antique" boat but he was happy as I made it through the tour without even feeling queasy. Huge win for us both! (and probably a win for the captain as well, lol) The tour was incredible - Captain Ed knew so much history of the islands and we feel that we got a better experience than the mass public tour boat that was going around with a the loud speaker. If ever in the area again, I would not hesitate to book again with Captain Ed!

Yesterday I experienced racism and my partner got upset which led into an unpleasant experience…read morejust because a white female felt entitled to complain to the captain about being uncomfortable.She was the one who approached me . She need to make content. .... Seriously ok I moved aside and allow her to do whatever she needed to do. However it wasn't enough!!! She came Again with a more aggressive tone you're in my space ... lol... there's no assigned seats however their belongings were there so I respected that and moved behind them. Clearly no one was in those seats that's why ,me as an individual went over to have a better view . our tour guide pointed out everything on the left were the attractions were So here I'm enjoying my tour when this lady ...lack of better choices of words comes over and starts to say you're in my place. No honey I'm not!! I moved just to avoid confrontation being she was already rude and disrespectful!!! My guy overheard this encounter and became annoyed. She then stomped off all huffing and puffing goes to the captain . He comes over and without and conversation threatens turn the boat around and kick us out . Like dude being a responsible individual you're going to have a conversation based on both side!!! But noooo you're as racist as this blond 2ft 1" racist troll Well it was definitely a one sided encounter for sure!! It was pretty sad that I told the crew members look at the video and go from there. The fact that the captain never asked what transpired says a lot about his mannerisms also. He and his reflective piece of cheap sunglasses didn't choose to adhere to both sides of situations . Sad but true!! However the gentleman who was part of the crew took the time to listen to what happened I do compliment him you're awesome....thank you!!

The trip far outweighed our expectations. The staff and crew…read morewere amazing and the other passengers were very friendly and lots of fun. The meals were very good and very plentiful. I learned to order half orders quite quickly. We were able to drop off our luggage earlier in the day and when we finished the trip the luggage was unloaded as we left the gang plank. Taxis were ordered ahead for those who requested them. We did leave a nice review and tips, that were shared but it was done in a very private way and there was no pressure at all. The entertainment was very good and geared to the age of the clients as were the quiz sheets that were available each day. We joined in groups for games and this helps us meet lots of other cruisers. AMAZING stopped in Kingston & Gananoque to visit the 1000…read moreIslands. In particular, we wanted to go on the 2.5 Hour boat tour and loved the beauty, history and the locals enjoying the water too! The second portion was visiting the Famous Heart Island where George C. Boldt, millionaire proprietor of the world famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, set out to build a full size rhineland castle in Alexandria Bay, on picturesque Heart Island.  The grandiose structure was to be a display of his love for his wife, Louise. The structures on the island were amazing! I personally LOVE architecture and history so this was a fantastic experience! Had it been Pre-Covid times, we would have been able to disembark from the boat and explored the island, as the Americans were doing. But because it is technically on the American side of the St Lawrence River, and because of the pandemic, we could only admire it from afar. We can't wait for warmer weather so we can go back and visit!

Roughly six years ago my mother and I had the opportunity to visit the 1000 Islands through a traveling agency. I cannot recall the company we had used to sail the 1000 Islands, but I' am carefully assuming it was Rockport Cruises. I may be completely wrong. This summer my mother and I were excited to bring the rest of my family to explore the 1000 Islands. The rest of my family members have never been to the islands. My mother and I were completely unsatisfied with the tour and how Gananoque Boat Lines website descriptions were misleading. Rockport cruises took us closer than Gananoque Boat Lines to the 1000 Islands. Gananoque Boat Lines 1 hour cruise only goes around, and not into the heart of the 1000 Islands. I would strongly advise travelers to avoid the BEAUTY OF THE ISLANDS CRUISE. Such a shame.

When you leave their dock its only minutes to go to the Boldt Castle, docking there is free and simple. Its about 30 min by pontoon to get to the Singer Castle also free docking and easy. Be sure to rent an extra day if you want to stay out past 5PM! It's easy to lose track of time on the water when there is so much to do! There is a gas dock not far at a state park that was easy to dock. So all of that to tell you that renting from this location is just perfect!

I can't even begin to count. "Aqua Mania", hands down was absolutely one of the best places we have ever rented a pontoon boat from. Everyone I spoke to was very knowledgeable and friendly. Their pontoon boats seemed like they were brand new and really in great working order. Our boat would fit 12 people ( but who wants that) They took the time out to make sure we were completely comfortable on the boat, plus gave us some great tips about where we could go on the river for what we wanted to do. We wanted to do some fishing, swimming plus site see. Nothing is better than being able to control what you want to do on the river for the day. We had a fantastic time!

We parked near the end of Church Street and walked toward the water. You can see Boldt Castle right across the St. Lawrence River. We wanted to take one of the big ships for a cruise up and down the St. Lawrence River, but nothing is operating until May I believe. Most of the shops were closed too.
