I called to get a taxi from an animal hospital with my cat who had just gone through surgery to take us home. I walk with a cane and was juggling a carrier with a frail cat in pouring rain. The driver went to the wrong address and when he finally arrived, he greeted me by yelling at me for giving him the wrong address. (I didn't. Dispatch did.) He yelled at me repeatedly and told me he doesn't like cats (who was secure in a carrier) and said I should have told them I had a cat. (I did and asked if that was okay.) The drive home is maybe ten minutes in really bad traffic down one main road. He drove me around neighbourhoods I didn't recognise, ignored me when I asked him where he was taking me and when we arrived at my house, he got mad at me for needing to pay with debit. While I had my card out ready to pay and opened the door to get the cat and cane ready to get out when he took my card from my hand and paid the fare, giving himself a generous tip and then scoffed when he offered me the receipt and I took it. I barely got out and shut the door before he drove off. Lesson learned: disabled the tap feature on all payment cards. Customer service was impossible to reach and was completely unhelpful when I called to complain about being taken advantage of. They never returned the fare or the tip that their driver stole from me. The fare was inflated due to the joy ride their driver took me on. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

tried to book a taxi in Trenton where I was staying, no luck getting one even after a 3 hour wait plus the taxi in Trenton (ABC taxi) refuses to prebook. I called central taxi and they were more than helpful and I could prebook. arrived on time. I had to go to the train station and was early and the driver waited until some pDenver's arrived for safety. great service. even though I had to pay extra was worth it kno I could get a ride to the station. read more

The worst cab company I have ever dealt with!! Called at 12 for a cab and they said it would be there right away. We then proceeded to wait an hour and still no cab. We called them to see if our cab was still coming and they proceeded to tell us it will be another 30 min wait which then turned into another hour of waiting. We called them once again and they said again another 30 min. We then told them this was was unbelievable we have been waiting for two hours they proceeded to hang up on us. Please please please, BEWARE! At 12:03 , am December 1st, Cab # Qsp30, Cabbie name , BERIHUNN arrived at 30 Caniffton rd, in Belleville for my pick up. I put my bag in the car & realized I had forgotten my keys. I ran back in the house to retrieve my keys & the Cab driver left with my bag & wallet inside! The bag was returned by the police with NO wallet inside! The cab driver says he was told to leave & didn't know my bag was there. According to him another passenger found the bag & gave it to him.Why would he be told to leave when my wallet, all ID, & cash in his car? Central Taxi says they can not do anything for me! I am very sorry to say do not use Central Taxi Belleville at all you have a choice. In 2 days in a row I had booked a taxi 2 hrs ahead of appointments. In both cases I had to cancel them because they did not have a taxi in the area. No driver was ever assigned. For a service company they are sad at least incompetent at best. read more

Had a driver from Central decide to drive quickly into my lane to avoid having to be patient and wait for truck in front of him to make its turn as we were both travelling northbound on N. Front. He was very lucky that I experienced no oncoming traffic as I swerved to avoid being hit by him (and that I am a former Toronto cab driver myself). I did a little gesturing, to be sure(!)(see cabbie reference above), and proceeded slowly enough that he had to pass me so I could get his #. Called the company and was only given an opportunity to relay this incident on vm, so here I am dropping my 2 cents. read more

It's Christmas Eve and my ex is trying to get to Reed to his parents for Christmas. Called at 6:10th for cab it is 9:08pm. Called at 7:20 because some how cab got cancelled. Waited for another hour called again. Was told cab would be here. Waited another 15 minutes just to have the drive refuse to take him. So called dispatch and was told it's not their fault we will send another cab asap so it's 9"11th and still waiting. This is why I like Blue Bird but they are closed. read more

This is by far the worst cab company I have ever dealt with, and maybe the worst customer experience I have ever had. Called in the afternoon to PRE-BOOK a cab for 8:00 PM that evening, and they confirmed my booking. I got skeptical when the cab hadn't arrived by 8:15, so I called back to confirm, and was told that because it was a busy night, we could be waiting for 1-2 hours... which completely defeats the purpose of pre-booking a cab in the first place. After nearly an hour of waiting for our cab, we ended up hitchhiking. I spoke with a manager and several other employees, and they were utterly useless. We drove across the province for hours to stay in the County and go to a concert, but because of this cab service, we missed the start of the show. An extremely disappointing result, but I can't even imagine how frustrated I would be if I needed to catch a flight or get somewhere else at a precise time and had to use this poor excuse for a service. In sum, don't even bother with this company. Even when you call several hours ahead of time to book a cab in advance, they will hang you out to dry. They are the very definition of incompetent, and will leave you with no remedy to ameliorate their terrible, terrible treatment of their customers aside from writing a poor review, which certainly won't change anything. Actually the worst cab company. The amount of times I have to wait 1-2 hours for a cab during any busy night is very common. The call center is also not local and they have no clue how the area is. these guys get away with theft. used them last week to drive us literally 10 minutes. fee was 30 dollars. when questioned I was told I had to pay for the car to leave it's location, arrive at mine, then drive us 10 min to the bar. at this point the driver told myself and female guest to "get the fuck out". let's start that anywhere on a street with zero witnesses I wouldn't have stood for that. I was nearly run over by a Central Taxi this morning at the entrance near the front foyer of Loyalist College. When I phoned to complain I was conveniently disconnected. A car stopped to allow a few of us to enter the college, the taxi went around the stopped car and nearly plowed right into me. I yelled stop and the driver started yelling at me. It took about 15 minutes and I never did get a quote... apparently the computer system didn't recognize the addresses I provided. Oh yes and the customer service rep thought I was in Ottawa despite me never mentioning Ottawa. Completely unprofessional. Let me tell you that in the past I have used Central all the time to go to and come home from work and to go out with friends/the boyfriend. I consider myself a loyal customer so this just blew my mind. I called a taxi with my boyfriend at 10:40 in the morning, the dispatcher told me it would be around 20 minutes. We go outside and wait. 11:20 comes around and no taxi. I come downstairs and call the company again. "You're at the top of the list and a taxi will be there in ten minutes." Great! So forty minutes in and we have another ten to go. Shitty, but I can deal with it. 11:40 comes around, it's now been an hour, no cab. Come in and there's a message on the phone "Sorry we see you had a time call for 10, if you still want a taxi call us back." Uh, wut? First of all, I called at 10:40, don't know what that's about. Second, I already called and twenty minutes ago you said ten minutes. Call the company. Me: "Hi I've been waiting for an hour now, just wondering when our taxi is going to get here." Them: "An hour, just hold for one second. *holdholdholdhold* Oh, yeah, okay I'm sending out another taxi. You're at the top of the list." Another taxi? What happened to the first one? So I go back upstairs and wait. 12:30. Over an hour and a half almost two hours. Boyfriend can see I'm upset, so he calls. Gets really angry at dispatcher. Apparently, dispatcher says that because we didn't answer the phone when they called (after already being twenty minutes later then they said) they cancelled our cab. Why? I have no flipping clue. When dispatcher says that we didn't answer the phone boyfriend goes on a rampage because we had been standing outside in the cold for forty minutes already and that's why we didn't answer the goddamn phone. Anyways. We're now at the top of the list and it'll be right there! 1:10 it has now been two and a half hours. All of which we have been huddled in the lobby of our apartment building. A taxi pulls in, finally! A woman gets out and comes into the lobby. Boyfriend and I head out and the driver starts waving his hands at me. "No, no! She's coming back! Still on her call!" I'm completely done. I head downstairs and call again. Me; "Hi, okay, so I've been waiting two and a half hours for a taxi. I'm just wondering if it's going to show up here any time soon." Them: "Two and a half, it says in the system that you've only been waiting an hour." THAT'S RIGHT he has the BALLS to tell me I've only been waiting an hour! LOL! Me: "Uh, no, I called my taxi at 10:40 and for some reason I don't understand you cancelled it. I called again and you sent out another one. Is this one coming soon?" Them: "Well you're at the top of the list in your area, I'm thinking a maximum of ten minutes and it'll be there." Go upstairs and tell the boyfriend. By this time we don't even want to go out. We're tired, angry and just all around frustrated that our fun outing turned into this crap fest. Anyways, 1:40 comes around. We have been waiting for a taxi for THREE HOURS. THREE. That is thirty minutes after the last call where it would be a "maximum of ten minutes". Went inside and called Blue Bird. Me: "Hi, I was just wondering, if I called for a taxi now how long with it take to get here?" Blue Bird Dispatch: "It'll be there in a few minutes." Place my call, taxi is there in five minutes. Now those are people who don't lie to your face repeatedly. Don't call Central. They have no clue what they're doing and they'll say whatever you want to hear just to get you off their line. I ended up calling 5 times in total, 4 of which were calls to find out when the taxi would be there and EVERY TIME it would be 10-15 minutes. an hour in it would be 10-15 minutes and I was still waiting for the cab at the 3 hour mark. It's ridiculous. People at Central, if you in fact read this, you really need to sort your stuff out because that is disgusting customer service. read more
