This is a limited review of the actual Veterans of Foriegn Wars (VFW) chapter. We actually came here for a St. Baldricks Foundation to combat Children's Cancer fundraiser. I volunteered to have my head shaved in exchange for donations. Kim volunteered to do the cutting.
It was nice of them to donate the dining hall space for the event. There were 12 of us who were getting shaved. All of which tried collecting donations up to the event. During the event, donations were also collected as well as donated gift cards and passes to local attractions were sold.
The goal was to raise $15,000, will find out final total by Monday since there were also internet donations to be tallied.
Now, about the VFW itself. God bless our veterans. Great bunch of people who went out of their way to help out.
The hall is nice sized with a dining area on one side and a bar with additional tables on the other side. There is a nice covered front porch as well. There is plenty of parking all around the building.
We didn't order any food, but the burgers that were going by looked delicious. There is a full bar.
I believe you have to be a member or a guest of one to get in normally. So if you are a Vet, I recommend a visit to this Post. read more
