We found this store to be disorganized and not very clean. Lots of items did not have prices on them and when you asked you got different prices from different people. The racks were so full that it made shopping impossible. We did not stay long here. Needless to say we purchased nothing from this store. read more

Palmetto Goodwill - Huge new store - Thrift Stores Near Me - Murrells Inlet, South Carolina

Good place to find deals and the merchandise is pretty nice not shabby like in other Goodwill stores. Make sure you have a long long time to wait especially if the older black lady is working the check out register. The store has only one cashier on duty at a time and the line backs up 10-12 people when she's on her shift. The last time I shopped there o set my items down and walked out. I didn't have an hour to wait in line to check out. The employees are slow and the customers aren't much better. Nobody is ever in a hurry in Miami. Must be a cultural thing. read more

This location was alright. It seemed organized and fairly clean. I had just come from the one up the road in Surfside which, in comparison, made this location look a bit lackluster. No where near as much selection or types of items as the other locale. Another reviewer mentioned they take in 2000 items a day here but the Surfside one said they do 6000. Either way, Goodwill can be hit or miss and I would still stop in here to check it out but wouldn't necessarily make the trip just to check it out. read more

This is a pretty good Goodwill, I thrift all over the country, and there is nothing spectacular about this location. They have a decent selection, I did find some good wardrobe for my shoots. The store is very well organized and clean. I would keep going back if I lived here. read more

I stop into this Murrells Inlet Goodwill every now and then on my way up 707 , it is a pretty new store and there are usually a lot of shoppers there . So if you are back in the housewares shelves and see something you like grab it because things fly off the shelves and the furniture goes fast too. I always try to think about stopping on Tuesday because people bring in their left over yard sale stuff from the weekend so they are always ringing that bell to signal they are bringing out a new cart of items . They used to wheel out carts of new stuff and let people sort through them before they were put on shelves which was good . But now they just bring it out and put it on the shelves or racks. So I decided to sit down and just wait to see what they they brought out for a couple of hours , I mean what else do you have to do when you retire ! It was fun I never realized just how much stuff they sell everyday it's like an after Christmas sale. The day they had their grand opening there were so many people there it was like Walmart. While I was waiting I got my eye phone out and started looking up some of the glass pieces I had picked off the shelves and was surprised I had found some treasures .Before I knew it , people were asking me to look up their items to see what they were worth . Gee ,now I know what to do on a boring day go sit at Goodwill and look up prices on ebay for the customers . They do have a nice selection of clothes and shoes too . They always welcome you when you come in the door and the employees have been very nice! Well worth a stop if you are in the growing amount of people who love to stop at all the area Thrift stores . Now the thing I want to warn you about is if you find something that was put out on the shelf without a price and you bring it up to the cash register they will not price it and if they send it back to the room where they price stuff good luck ever seeing it again ! You get punished because it didn't have a price on it . They told me it has to come back out of the pricing room in a carriage that is filled with other items they are bring out . I waited 45 min they never brought the item back out I wanted to buy with the rest of the stuff I had in my cart ! They said they couldn't find it ! Can you believe that ! Don't get why they want to loose money like that both myself and another woman that was waiting for a price . Gave up and went home. No matter who I asked where's the item I sent back which matched a piece in my cart that was priced would help me ! They said people take off the tags ! Well who would want to do that and have to wait forever to never get the item back , the items are all about the same prices on the shelf I just wanted to buy it and go home for supper! So if you pick up one of the many things on the shelves with out a price just forget about buying them . Management there needs to be changed! read more

This Goodwill is particularly well organized. Color coordinated clothing makes it a little easier to find what you're looking for, however, if they are going to go as far as color it would be way more helpful to organize by size! Overall an okay place to find a good deal or two. Very nice staff. read more

I LOVE thrift shopping. I have been here twice and haven't been disappointed either time. It's very organized. I had to wait to try on stuff because so many people were there, but it's ok because I found the perfect dress, shoes and handbag & a second "back-up" dress and shoes just in case. read more

The ladies (manager) at the Carolina Forest Goodwill are mean and I left feeling embarrassed and sad. I went in with $20 to spend. I wanted a few nice things for my home since my family is coming to visit. I wanted to buy 2 sets of curtain panels, 2 pillow covers, and 4 coffee mugs. Each set of curtain panels were together on a hanger and the pillow covers were on a hanger together. They proceeded to ring them up individually and I questioned it. The woman told me that was the way it is. I asked why they are hung together on a hanger and that was misleading? She told me that they are limited on hangers. (Right behind her was a rack of hangers) I still questioned her and she snapped back "It's on the sign!" I went to look at the sign and I'm still confused. It's clear for the glassware, it says "each" but on the sign for the linens it says "panels". I just left because I could not afford to buy the items and the women made me feel so embarrassed with how loud they were talking and just being "matter of fact". There was no empathy. I will never shop there again and I will never donate. I will take my donations to church. read more

This store separates their clothing by color only. Not by color and size like the smarter Goodwill's do. Or just by size, for Heaven's sake. I should not have to handle every single item of clothing just to see what there is in my size! I won't be shopping there for clothing any more. read more
