San Joaquin Delta College (SJDC) really is a hidden gem for Career Technical Education (CTE),…read moreespecially when it comes to hands-on media training. The "state-of-the-art technology" mentioned is a huge part of why their program stands out. By mirroring industry standards--from modern audio/video capture to professional non-linear editing software--the program cuts straight to building immediate, marketable skills. Faculty like Professor Adriana Brogger have done an incredible job driving that forward-focused energy, ensuring students are ready for the workforce whether they choose to transfer later or jump right into production, content creation, or digital media entrepreneurship. Splitting the difference by getting robust, practical certificates and degrees at a community college before--or instead of--dropping tens of thousands at a university is a smart move. It focuses on portfolio building and actual execution, which is exactly what the industry looks for.

On the one hand its clear they have a need for more funding but on the other hand they also deserve a MASSIVE funding cut. The administration of Delta college is a bloated bureaucratic nightmare where the left hand has no clue what the right hand is doing. The admissions/ records office and especially the FA office is filled with rude, lazy staff that resort to their NPC response of "Oh we don't do that here". This is my first semester and already I've faced the potential of having to drop out do to zero support from the financial aid department. I've done everything required of me but getting them to lift a finger to take care of stuff on their end is like pulling teeth. I wondered if it was just me experiencing these issues but seeing their Yelp page confirms that its a systemic problem. Very disheartening. I write this review knowing nobody at the school in a position to make changes will read it so instead I write this as a warning to current and potential students. My best advice to potential students is document every correspondence with school employees, CC the director of the respective department you are contacting and follow up every few days.

I was trying to decide between staying here or back at the University Plaza Waterfront (I have…read morestayed there once before) near the Stockton Arena. After seeing the pictures here, I decided to cancel my reservation for the University Waterfront because this place seemed more secluded and they have the good brekkie, lol. The room I had was on the 1st floor, very convenient without having to wait for the elevator. It was clean and had no bed bugs that I could see, YAY for that alone! I was too afraid to try that ironing trick that's trending on TikTok and IG, so I didn't do it. If I can't see anything upon close inspection, I'll take it!! I woke up the next day feeling well rested and no bed bug bites, so double win there! Breakfast was good, but I think the pancake machine needs to be adjusted because the pancakes seemed a tad undercooked. They serve it daily from 6 to 9 am, so if you go towards the end, you likely will miss most of the good hot stuff. I didn't catch the bacon (if they had any), but I did get 1 sausage and left the other 2 behind. They still had 3 cheese egg omelets, but I didn't take one. Everything tasted great. The room was a comfortable size and the convenience of having the mini fridge and microwave always comes in handy. The bathtub was dated, but it serves its purpose. I like that they have Dove toiletries, including hand soap and lotion. I HATE those little bar soaps hotels usually have by the sink. I bring my own foaming hand soap but didn't have to this time. They also have a fitness center, laundry facilities and a swimming pool and jacuzzi. Parking is free, and there is plenty of it. Service was also great as Manuel took good care of me when I called in a few days ahead to see if I could check in earlier than the usual 3pm standard check in time. I didn't see him when I checked in, but I met him checking out. Cool guy, cool vibes, and I told him I would tell people to stay here, lol. The other 2 ladies I encountered the day I checked in were super nice as well. I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Lodi if you're looking for a place to stay in the area. It's near shops and restaurants and didn't seem ghetto to me. It's like a level above Stockton area (or so I was told by a friend). I told Manuel I'd be back one day, so tune in for my next check in.. til then, don't take my Duchess title away, lol!

The chile verde omelet was delicious, salsa is freshly made at the restaurant, and that make a big difference my fried chicken was delicious hash brown were so good everything was really fresh but... the pancakes were the best! I love this place , is a little place but lots of sitting, great food and service for sure we are coming back

Rare weekday morning off and the Hubbs and I were excited to give this place a try. I had gotten a…read morereferral from a coworker and the Hubbs had seen social media posts about the den. I've been stalling on doing a review because I felt that the day that we went must've been an odd day off or when the regular cook wasn't there. When we arrived, there was only one other couple at the restaurants and only a couple came during the time that we were there. It was definitely a slow day or time. Since we were the only folks there ordering I asked for my hashbrowns to be crispy, and the Hubbs asked for no eggs and the server offered potatoes, which was very nice to offer the swap. Unfortunately, rather than just my hashbrowns being crispy, my eggs were well overdone as well as my pancakes. This left my pancakes, dry and flat rather than moist and fluffy and my eggs rubbery. I asked for salsa to help the overcooked eggs out, but they were still not good. The Hubbs enjoyed his breakfast, but said his gravy had no sausage flavor and were bland. He added pepper and ended up also sprinkling some hot sauce on them. Coffee is Farmers Brothers and tasted more like hot water with a hint of coffee flavor. I feel bad giving this review because the folks there were extremely nice and accommodating with our special requests. We learned that their specials were a hit and they're very busy so we'll have to give them another try. There's not much in the area and this place looks like it was a local favorite.
