Been here at least 10 times, and every single time have had great experiences bringing our dog and seeing the friendliest pups. Look out for the sewage warning signs-- a lot of people ignore them, but during certain times it's not advised to swim in there due to Tijuana sewage spills. I came out of the water once smelling very gross, with a sticky film on me... because I didn't notice the signs. Watch out! Other than that, absolutely adore this beach and it is our go-to.

We moved the blanket but we wanted to be in the shade. We will come back when it's cooler and settle down closer to the water.

San Diego has taken a downturn in the last handful of years and it's no longer as clean/safe/lively as it once was. So taking it in from across the water in Coronado.. perfect! The park is a lovely way to enjoy Coronado -- away from the hype of the Del and away from the typical beach. I was able to witness a beautiful proposal in the park, and also saw lots of folks just enjoying a picnic, a photo sesh, a wander about, etc. The park is nestled near a small beach and also the buzz of the ferry landing with its restaurants and tourist shops. The park is gated and safe for kids. Our son loved the playground. The park is across from The Children's Museum. They also have public bathrooms available with security. The park was nice and clean. The dog park is next to the Children's Park. - parking sucks if you don't live in the area - park is small and there is no divide between big and small dogs, one park fits all Owners here are very respectful. They have agility climbing structure. It can get a little crowded and rowdy when the big dog packs like to dominate, there is seating but no shade. It's turf, no grass or dirt. We like coming here when we are in the area roaming the waterfront.

So glad we stayed the closest you can to this beach as it was a 3 minute walk from our hotel room!
