It's almost always…read moresparsely populated, has well maintained grounds, and also features separate spaces for playground, basketball, batting practice etc. Only downside is that some folks don't clean up well after their dogs, but mostly not an issue if you keep a sharp eye out and stick to the paved walkway I've really enjoyed jogging, walking and playing soccer here over the years due to the lack of crowds, cool breezes, fragrant eucalyptus and other shade trees, and nice walk path around the edge.

It's not a very larger park, but large enough to bring the little ones for the playground, play basketball on the half court, have a picnic on the large grassy areas, relax under the shade of beautiful mature trees, or a have a picnic. The park is dog friendly. In fact, there was a dog training session in progress as we visited. The only drawback to keep in mind was that I did not see any restrooms in the area, so it's more of a neighborhood park. The park is good for walking around its perimeter, too, which was the reason for out visit, in addition to the chatting. Nice park.

Anyone can use it, and reservations can be made for parties up to 150 people. There are no tables, benches, parking lot, or restroom facilities. The park is edged with engraved cement slabs bearing the names of La Jolla Shores residents and businesses that contibuted to creating this park in 1972, originally named Mata Park. These slabs form an open air time capsule from over 50 years ago. I found it very interesting going around reading them.

It is a nice patch of green grass that also has Pump Station 27 hidden away behind some fences and plants. I was lucky to find a parking spot in front of Laureate Park today so I could go to the beach. I noticed the park and since it is located near many of the great places to eat in the area, many people will picnic there or just hang out. There are some offices nearby and lunch time brings out a lot of the workers to enjoy the sunshine. Though Laureate Park is kind of smallish, I always applaud open spaces and green areas--especially in congested areas. Though one of the most beautiful beaches in all of San Diego is just a few blocks west, it is always great to have a nice little park like Laureate.

Often pet owners unleash their pets on the beach and forget their fellow humans when on the path.

Oh and my husband and friends too, but come on, it's a completely different scenario when man's best friend is not only allowed at the establishment, but treated like royalty! There is a special entrance for those in the Barkyard program (signup for it online, you must be approved before you come). Once your tickets are checked, you are escorted to the special Barkyard area and to your box. Each box has 4 seats and allows 2 dogs. There is artificial turf on the ground. If your pooch needs to potty, there is a special area where they can go and a Barkyard member will take you there. You are also given a special goodie bag with dog treats, a set of poop bags and a stuffed toy for your pooch, which I thought was adorable. A team member will check in with you periodically and will even take your order if you'd like to order something from their concession stand. The view of the field from the box is a very good one actually and we could see the opposing team warming up right in front of us. A good time for both humans and pooches!

This used to be a great place to live!!…read more Most people in this building suck and are unfriendly. No sense of community here. Probably a handful of the old school homeowners are cool. Most are renters who are inconsiderate. I love living above a "nightclub" on Sundays when some decide to pound bass until 2am!! Also, They've destroyed the newly renovated lobby and elevator...aka dog scented conveyor. Seriously, I want to puke from the disgusting dog smell so I frequently take the stairs...on a side note, my ass looks good for it!!! Seriously, I wonder what some of these unit smell like!!! Someone also decided to puke in the elevator and leave it overnight...f*cker!! The HOA sucks ass also. They love to overcharge (probably the highest fees in the area) and there is no gym, no pool, no concierge to justify. Besides, when you reach out Hudson Management, they don't even respond! My stars go to location, location, location!! And my view is killer! So 2 stars for that. Everything else SUCKS!

This is how I felt so long ago when we first went on our long walk in Harbor Island park. I had barely turned 18, and she had invited me to meet her mother, and her childhood friends. This young woman was, with her madcap ways, the beginning of life for me, for I truly loved her. At the end of that oh so memorable day, we walked along the Harbor Island shoreline. I could no longer resist the urge, and I pulled her closely for our very first memorable kiss in San Diego. Where I thought my heart had always beat, I knew for certain that it only truly began to beat that day. It happened in this very park. I still remember the exact spot where we stood. The gentle breeze played with her long locks. The waves serenely eddied around our feet as our lips stayed locked as if for an eternity. I knew that our love affair would result in derision and displeasure both from my family and friends, as family and friends sometimes don't understand the reasons for love. But the slow death of a well planned life by well meaning family and friends, was nothing compared to the promise of endless love and passion with My Beloved. The words that I stated from the bottom of my heart on that fateful day still ring true. The promises I made to her were best captured by an excerpt from this song... We are older and wiser, and, as Auden said, "time only knows the price we had to pay" to keep the unquelled passion that still remains. In all these years, I've pursued and achieved so much. I've grasped things in my hand that symbolized man's achievement. Yet, in all those things, emptiness abounded, except in one thing. That one thing is the sheer pleasure of simply having spent a lifetime next to her. It supplants anything and everything that I've ever achieved in my career. Nice small park hidden away inside the Cays. Located outside the Montego Village gates it is open…read moreto the public. Small jungle gym type setup with very large grassy area adjoining. Benches near the playground so you can watch the kids play. Ample parking. Situated very close to the Silver Strand Back Bay Park and an easy walk to the Pacific side. No restroom facilities. This is a great park to avoid the crush, play with the kids and then back to the state parks all without having to be on a major road. DOWNSIDE: No dogs allowed.
