TPLO surgery was scheduled and performed on 10/20/2026. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Central Mesa Veterinary Hospital. The experience-from the first consultation to now one day after surgery-is absolutely outstanding. The surgeon, Dr. Senter, and the whole team are incredibly skilled, and it shows. They explained every step of the procedure in a way that made me feel informed and confident, and they treated my dog with such genuine care and compassion. The surgery itself went flawlessly. What really sets this clinic apart is the level of attention they give both pets and owners. They checked in frequently, answered every question I had, and made sure I felt supported throughout the recovery process. My dog was calm, comfortable, and clearly well‑loved by everyone who handled her. It's rare to find a veterinary hospital that combines top‑tier surgical expertise with such kindness, patience, and heart. Central Mesa Veterinary Hospital has given my dog the chance to walk, play, and enjoy life again--and for that, I am deeply grateful. If your pet needs TPLO surgery or any advanced care, this is the place you want to be. Truly five stars in every way.

DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR TREATING SERIOUS CONDITIONS. I am incredibly disappointed & upset about my…read moreexperience with this hospital, which I initially held in high regard due to their "integrity". I was wrong. My dog initially went in for senior bloodwork & arthritis. First note, I was completely blind sided by Lou calling me & casually rambling about kidney disease. What? He's talking about the function of her kidneys degrading while I feel like I was shot in the chest. I had no idea. Part of that job entails empathy. I didn't appreciate the lack of it. Aside from this, Lou is usually well spoken, detailed & knowledgeable. If he says he will call you back, he usually does. I appreciate that. But, the customer service jargon is what keeps the business. Remember that. Second, Dr. Senter was wonderful with my animals. She sat on the floor, took her time, never made me feel rushed & explained things to me well. I thought she cared. I viewed her highly before this. But, look at her old reviews.. they just adapted. Now, the BIG issue....Allison is why this rating is so low. She needs to be fired. My trust was completely broken with this hospital due to my experience with Allison, whom acted on behalf of the Dr. I'm quite certain she's the same assistant who mockingly asked if I "was really turned away from emergency" after I'd been up all night with my cat, stressed beyond measure after BEING TURNED AWAY by emergency. She is incredibly condescending. I had multiple diagnostics done at this hospital & convos w/ Dr. Senter about the care of my dog. I was mid move & it was made aware I'd be following up elsewhere. I did the additional recommended Cushings test and a urine culture at another hospital & called Central Mesa to ask if they could review the results & let me know what they thought was right for my dogs care. (I had decided to move from the new vet, & reverted back to care at central Mesa while I was seeking a new facility.) After being told the Dr would call me by the receptionist & me giving her the other hospitals info to ask for records, I was called back by Allison. Allison was horrific. She continually argued that I needed to come in for an exam. FOR. WHAT?! I was there ONE MONTH AGO. She didn't have an answer. Then she went with I need to see internal medicine. FOR. WHAT?! "To manage the severity of this case" So I challenged her-- what is severe about STAGE 2?! Silence. I asked her blatantly if they don't treat kidney disease or Cushings, because they had NO PROBLEM charging me for medicine and diagnostics when I was there. Suddenly, they can't advise? They can't advise on the diagnosis they GAVE ME?! My dog still has medicine from this clinic, they even recommended a different kind, I had multiple discussions about Cushings with the Dr and ruling it out, etc. THIS IS NOT NEW NOR IS IT OLD INFO. Allison persisted that the dr also doesn't do personal calls but she was real silent when I asked why the doctor called & spoke to me about my dogs condition just a few weeks ago. I asked her repeatedly why she's declining to care for my dog. She switches tactics again. "we don't do holistic medicine we don't know what the other clinic did". Huh? I saw an integrative vet who ran a CUSHINGS TEST & a URINE CULTURE. Both RECOMMENDATIONS I got at THIS CLINIC. I'm sick of repeating myself! NO ONE IS ASKING this practice to do ANYTHING holistic. I've said it a thousand times now. She became snarky with me & asked, "well how are we supposed to know those results if we don't have them?" idk, YOUR RECEPTIONIST should have gotten them. OBVIOUSLY. This phone call ended with me in tears & distress. She eventually called me back & spoke to me as if I was a small child to cover her behind, & said nothing useful. It's clear this hospital doesn't have the integrity I thought it had. Im scheduled to travel back to AZ in a couple months & had planned to do more labs here but my trust is severely broken. Allison acting on behalf of the Dr was jarring. This is who she is? Ok. I won't return. Don't do more than wellness here

Second, when Vanessa first came over to my house my boys fell in love with her. Even my shy guy. She wasn't in the door for 5 minutes before he was trying to climb up her leg. Some people are just animal whisperers - Vanessa is one of those people. Their rates are super awesome and I feel like I am getting a good deal while my boys are well taken care of. Win - win! The entire week we were gone, she sent photos, updates, asked questions and answered my crazy dog mom texts when we were out of cell range. My dog warmed up to her even more, not barking and asking for pets and treats. We have used her many times since and our dog is absolutely in love with her. She also left our house even better than we did. It's like she was never there. I also recommended her to two of my friends and my family members.
