I moved here 3 years ago and needed a good vet for my senior dog and cat. I came to Apple Valley…read moreAnimal Hospital after having a bad experience with another local vet. I am so pleased that I have found these vets. They take my concerns seriously. I know with the COVID-19 protocols that vets and other pet care providers follow that it can seem pretty chaotic. But not here. They have a system, it works, and I've always felt a sense of calm and order when I've been to their clinic. The staff is wonderful. I can't say enough good things about Dr Ravenscroft and Dr Schilling. The techs and nurses are always kind and professional. We had an emergency appt today, and I need to give Cameron, who was my cat's nurse, a shout out for all his help and for taking such good care of my Sunny. I just want to say Thank You to all the Apple Valley Animal Hospital staff. I really appreciate all they do.

Tried taking her back in for bloodwork and staples removed and she was SO scared, she refused to go back. They REFUSED to treat her in the room, would not let me go back with her. They DO NOT KNOW HOW TO ACCOMMODATE FOR DOGS WITH PTSD! Had to walk out without services. Going to have to figure out how to remove staples ourselves. Not great service!!!! P.S. Great doctors there who saved her life. But poor policies to keep pets safe and calm.

The staff (McKenzie and Dr. Choi) took him in the back, found out his intestines had tangled and died off. Samaritans Animal Hospitals amazing staff took him in for emergency surgery on the spot and was an "ALL STAR" team for Odin's care. He came out of emergency surgery pointed in the right direction. Samaritan Animal Hospital advised us to take him to Animal Emergency Clinic where they had Odin for 3 days. He almost didn't make it, but due to the care of the staff at Samaritan Animal Hospital and the staff at Animal Emergency Clinic is the only reason our puppy made it through. We will be the first to say. We put all our hope into the Samaritan Animal Hospital and Animal Emergency Clinic, where they have done nothing less of being the best choice for our animals and we will not look elsewhere. After the surgery we had to give him another set of shots, after the completion of shots. Odin looked a little lethargic again. Took him into Animal Emergency clinic, where we were then notified of our puppy catching Parvo. Emergency Animal Clinic once again got right on top of it and got him cured up and a reasonable cost. Samaritan Animal Hospital then reached out to shot manufacturer and got us reimbursed for the cost of parvo care. Our puppy is now seven month old and weighing in at seventy-five pounds. We cannot give enough thanks to these people that helped us keep our Odin alive. The staff is amazing, hardworking, honest, and have the biggest hearts. Special thanks to: McKenzie Autumn Dr. Choi Dr. Pennington

In February, I took my 4-month-old kitten, Sweet Pea in to have her spayed and to repair a hernia…read more On Tuesday, 5/12/26, I took her in at 11:00 for a consultation because she was in heat. Dr. Velasco wanted to do a 2nd surgery that very day to go in and remove a small piece of ovary that was apparently missed. I told him she had eaten this morning at 9am, so wouldn't it be better to bring her in tomorrow after fasting all night? He insisted on doing the surgery that day and said it would be OK because he would take her as his last appt. He called me at 5:30 to come and get her. He sounded funny on the phone, like he wasn't telling me something. I got there at 5:30 and told the front desk that I was worried because of the Doctor's phone call, so could I please speak to him. I also got a receipt for the surgery of $2910.00 with all fees waived, including medications. I thought the Dr. felt bad about messing up the first operation, so her wasn't charging me for the second one. I paced for half an hour, very upset and worried. Finally, an employee came out with Sweet Pea and said Dr. Velasco had already left. Was he avoiding me? She kept assuring me that Sweet Pea was fine because they double checked her vitals. She also said the Doctor wanted to do a re-check appt. Wednesday morning, which was unusual and worried me even more. All the way home I felt like everyone there knew that there was a problem, but no one wanted to tell me. Sweet Pea was obviously in pain when I got her home. The employee assured me that she had been given enough antibiotics and pain medication to last until morning. At 10pm I had another dose of pain meds to give her, but she let out one loud scream and died. She was my love, my baby, my Sweet Pea. The whole house seems empty without her. I am left broken hearted, sick, and angry because this should never have happened. Why couldn't we wait a day? Why couldn't we wait until she was a bit older? Why so insistent on immediate surgery? I now think they waived the charges because they didn't think she was going to survive what they did to her, and they wanted to make sure she died at my house. I will be suffering over this for a long time and will never trust this Vet again. Sweet Pea is dead because of his mistake.

But Dr. Adult didn't give up (And no she didn't do a hundred things that were going to cost a lot of money, In fact, the opposite happened. They even gave me a few cans of cat food for her to eat for the coming days. So I prayed...a lot. And God provides His loving touch and brought this baby back to us. She was dehydrated but also her stools were extremely dry because of the dehydration and they were like little rocks she had five to seven little rocks in her tiny little 8 lb colon. But by that miracle, she got the SubQ liquids, 2 times,. Which gave her body some very, very much needed hydration. Then, over the next few days, she got a very liquid diet... slowly, over 2 days, she got those little pellet poops out! She began to eat after 3 days, and I bought her some wheatgrass to nimble on and draw water from. Added tuna ice cubes (Not a head but the other cat liked it) And by the time she had finished the food from the DR, she was up and moving around. She turned a corner! Dr Ault listened to us and healed our cat on a budget I could deal with without compromising any of her care! The staff was also very caring from the first phone call to the end of our visits, always has smile on her face, always was calm reminding me, 'Mama you have to stay calm!' which is really hard when your baby is sick... Thank you Dr. AULT and Ark Hospital!

Dr. Misko walked into the exam room and asked me to get up so he could sit down. While in the exam room he did not exam my dog, he rubbed her head while she laid under the chair he was sitting in, but I was charged the exam fee. He told me he could not euthanize her until he ran a battery of tests but that she did have cancer. Yet he still hadn't examined her or run the tests. After doing bloodwork and X-rays, Dr. Misko said that he would need to do a biopsy to determine if the cancer was benign or malignant. What? Benign means non-cancerous, but not according to Dr. Misko. He told me that by looking at the X-rays the cancer had not spread. I was charged $1074 after spending 5 hours there. When I got my dog home she wouldn't eat, drink or relieve herself. She was up all not crying. By the next morning she could barely walk and still wouldn't eat, drink or relieve herself. Where they did the biopsy had begun to excessively bleed and was oozing puss. Luckily I was able to get her into a different animal hospital that day and immediately upon entering the exam room and examining her the vet said she had cancer and that it had spread. After explaining our experience with Ark Animal Hospital, he said a vet cannot tell you they cannot or will not euthanize upon request and none of the tests and the biopsy Dr. Misko insisted had to be done should have been run and were absolutely unnecessary. After doing some research, I found that Dr. Misko has had similar claims filed against him with the Veterinary Board and is actually on probation. I would think twice about taking your pets to Ark Animal Hospital. I have made several calls to them and have been told each time that someone will get back to me by the end of the day, it has been a couple weeks and I have yet to receive a call back. If you love your pets like I do mine, please take them somewhere else.

The neuter procedure went smoothly, and everything was handled efficiently and professionally. When I brought him back the next day for a recheck, I was honestly blown away by how kind and attentive the entire team was. Cassandra at the front desk was welcoming, warm, and professional. Dr. Bell was calm, thorough, and very reassuring. She took the time to carefully examine Joey and explain everything in a way that gave me complete peace of mind. I also want to recognize the technician (I believe her name was Tami (I hope I got that right), who truly went above and beyond. Joey had an accident in his carrier on the way in, and she immediately stepped in to clean everything, gently cleaned him up, and made sure he was comfortable. She was also incredibly patient in showing me how to administer his medications and made sure I felt confident caring for him at home. What really stood out to me was the genuine compassion from everyone I interacted with. You can tell this team truly cares about animals and the people who love them. My Kitty is now home, comfortable, and recovering well, and I'm so grateful I chose this clinic.

Unfortunately, I deeply regret choosing this facility and wish I had reviewed feedback beforehand. We dropped Loki off at approximately 10:00 a.m. after being told he needed to stay for treatment. However, I did not receive a call until around 12:00 p.m., at which point I was informed that they were just beginning treatment and that Loki had passed away. This indicates there was a significant delay before any treatment was initiated. During drop-off, I was not allowed to say goodbye to my cat before leaving him overnight, which has been extremely difficult to process. Additionally, treatment appeared to be contingent on payment despite us having already made an initial payment, which added further distress during an already traumatic situation. When I returned to collect Loki's belongings, his carrier was returned without the blanket I had left with him. That blanket was one of the last items I had from him, and the loss was devastating. Staff explained it was misplaced due to chaos in the back, but there was little empathy or accountability shown. Overall, this experience felt rushed, impersonal, and lacking compassion. I did not feel that my pet's wellbeing was treated with the urgency or care it deserved. I am sharing this review to inform other pet owners so they can make a fully informed decision when choosing care for their animals.
