The staff (McKenzie and Dr. Choi) took him in the back, found out his intestines had tangled and died off. Samaritans Animal Hospitals amazing staff took him in for emergency surgery on the spot and was an "ALL STAR" team for Odin's care. He came out of emergency surgery pointed in the right direction. Samaritan Animal Hospital advised us to take him to Animal Emergency Clinic where they had Odin for 3 days. He almost didn't make it, but due to the care of the staff at Samaritan Animal Hospital and the staff at Animal Emergency Clinic is the only reason our puppy made it through. We will be the first to say. We put all our hope into the Samaritan Animal Hospital and Animal Emergency Clinic, where they have done nothing less of being the best choice for our animals and we will not look elsewhere. After the surgery we had to give him another set of shots, after the completion of shots. Odin looked a little lethargic again. Took him into Animal Emergency clinic, where we were then notified of our puppy catching Parvo. Emergency Animal Clinic once again got right on top of it and got him cured up and a reasonable cost. Samaritan Animal Hospital then reached out to shot manufacturer and got us reimbursed for the cost of parvo care. Our puppy is now seven month old and weighing in at seventy-five pounds. We cannot give enough thanks to these people that helped us keep our Odin alive. The staff is amazing, hardworking, honest, and have the biggest hearts. Special thanks to: McKenzie Autumn Dr. Choi Dr. Pennington

I am so pleased that I have found these vets. They take my concerns seriously. I know with the COVID-19 protocols that vets and other pet care providers follow that it can seem pretty chaotic. But not here. They have a system, it works, and I've always felt a sense of calm and order when I've been to their clinic. The staff is wonderful. I can't say enough good things about Dr Ravenscroft and Dr Schilling. The techs and nurses are always kind and professional. We had an emergency appt today, and I need to give Cameron, who was my cat's nurse, a shout out for all his help and for taking such good care of my Sunny. I just want to say Thank You to all the Apple Valley Animal Hospital staff. I really appreciate all they do.

Tried taking her back in for bloodwork and staples removed and she was SO scared, she refused to go back. They REFUSED to treat her in the room, would not let me go back with her. They DO NOT KNOW HOW TO ACCOMMODATE FOR DOGS WITH PTSD! Had to walk out without services. Going to have to figure out how to remove staples ourselves. Not great service!!!! P.S. Great doctors there who saved her life. But poor policies to keep pets safe and calm.

In February, I took my 4-month-old kitten, Sweet Pea in to have her spayed and to repair a hernia…read more On Tuesday, 5/12/26, I took her in at 11:00 for a consultation because she was in heat. Dr. Velasco wanted to do a 2nd surgery that very day to go in and remove a small piece of ovary that was apparently missed. I told him she had eaten this morning at 9am, so wouldn't it be better to bring her in tomorrow after fasting all night? He insisted on doing the surgery that day and said it would be OK because he would take her as his last appt. He called me at 5:30 to come and get her. He sounded funny on the phone, like he wasn't telling me something. I got there at 5:30 and told the front desk that I was worried because of the Doctor's phone call, so could I please speak to him. I also got a receipt for the surgery of $2910.00 with all fees waived, including medications. I thought the Dr. felt bad about messing up the first operation, so her wasn't charging me for the second one. I paced for half an hour, very upset and worried. Finally, an employee came out with Sweet Pea and said Dr. Velasco had already left. Was he avoiding me? She kept assuring me that Sweet Pea was fine because they double checked her vitals. She also said the Doctor wanted to do a re-check appt. Wednesday morning, which was unusual and worried me even more. All the way home I felt like everyone there knew that there was a problem, but no one wanted to tell me. Sweet Pea was obviously in pain when I got her home. The employee assured me that she had been given enough antibiotics and pain medication to last until morning. At 10pm I had another dose of pain meds to give her, but she let out one loud scream and died. She was my love, my baby, my Sweet Pea. The whole house seems empty without her. I am left broken hearted, sick, and angry because this should never have happened. Why couldn't we wait a day? Why couldn't we wait until she was a bit older? Why so insistent on immediate surgery? I now think they waived the charges because they didn't think she was going to survive what they did to her, and they wanted to make sure she died at my house. I will be suffering over this for a long time and will never trust this Vet again. Sweet Pea is dead because of his mistake.

April was absolutely fantastic and showed so much patience during our visit. I am beyond grateful for her and the rest of the team's efforts at the clinic. After glancing over my bill, I noticed a charge for an X-ray that I thought was included in Meow's plan. April was so considerate and took the time to explain that there were actually two X-rays conducted - one for Meow's mouth and one for his body. She was incredibly helpful in walking me through the charges on my bill to make sure I fully understood what I was paying for. As a responsible pet parent, I understand it is my responsibility to ask questions about any charges I don't understand. I am grateful for the help I received and would have regretted paying blindly without understanding what I was being charged for. Banfield seems to honestly care about pets' health, and I appreciate that. Her kindness made a huge difference, especially for a concerned pet owner like myself. Thank you to April and the entire Apple Valley Banfield location team for taking the time to answer my questions and treating me as more than just a number.
