Our guinea pig was bloated and lethargic, so we called to see if we could bring her in. I was expecting a few hours wait time because that's my usual experience with emergency vets, especially at night, but we were seen right away. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The doctor explained what was happening and gave us a few choices on how to proceed and gave us her personal recommendation as well. Unfortunately, we chose to say goodbye to our sweet girl. We got a private room and all the time we needed with her in there. We never felt rushed. They were also kind enough to waive our x-ray fees. The pricing is comparable to other emergency exotic vets we've been to (more expensive than a typical vet visit), so we knew what to expect. Hopefully we won't need to visit them any time soon, but if we do, we'd definitely return. read more

I took my kitten here late in the evening for an emergency situation where she had banged her head while playing and her pupils looked off and she seemed dazed. A very terrifying situation... When I entered I was a mess, and they were so quick, kind and responsive. They immediately started care for my kitten and came up with a detailed plan outlining everything they would suggest and took the time to explain why. The team here was so gentle and caring with my kitten making an already stressful and scary situation feel an essence of calm and that everything was under control. They did a few tests on my kitten and treated her, and even in that situation they managed to keep her as comfortable as possible. Their diagnosis for my kitten seemed dead on, as soon as we started treatment she was already showing signs of improvement. She had swelling in her eye and they knew exactly what to do. Today my kitten is calm, seems back to her normal self like nothing ever happened and her eye has shown amazing improvement as far as the pupil and swelling. My family and I are so thankful for their care! Hopefully I will not need to return, but if we ever do I know exactly where to take my pets and can trust them. Thank you! read more

It has taken a lot of strength to write this review, but VEG Anaheim Hills deserves it. Our beloved dog Jack came down with symptoms that were concerning, and we immediately brought him in. From the moment we arrived, the team was compassionate, calm, knowledgeable, and informative. They kept in constant communication with us and fully explained every step of his treatment. They patiently answered all of our questions -- and believe me, there were many -- and helped walk us through what was best for Jack. Unfortunately, Jack was not going to overcome his disease. Dr. Ortiz was beyond comforting, compassionate, and caring as we made the hardest decision of letting Jack be at peace in Heaven. We were never rushed, we felt Jack was in good hands the entire time, and we would recommend this location to anyone facing an urgent situation with a beloved pet. Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts. read more

I've taken my cat here before and had a very pleasant experience . I felt like they were really concerned and cared for my cat. I brought my older dog here because it was time to say see you later. We were crushed to say the least. The compassion and empathy shown by the Dr. and staff was comforting. It was a very difficult decision to make but the way they treated our baby and us , was exemplary. It made it easier in the difficult situation. They gave us whatever time we needed and we didn't feel rushed. God Bless this ER for pets . Thank you read more

I can't say enough about the care we received at this emergency vet. When my almost 3-year-old fur baby, Tobi, swallowed what looked like a crocheted sock on our walk, I was beyond scared. I couldn't find any emergency vets nearby in Chino Hills, but I was so fortunate to find this place. From the very first call, they treated me and Tobi like family. I was able to be right there with him every step of the way. No separation, just inclusion. They let me witness everything, from inducing vomiting to the X-rays, and they were so confident and calm, which helped me stay calm too. Ultimately the object was too big and needed an endoscopy with claw thing to remove which had me SHAKINGGG. They explained every single step, even when I didn't fully understand, and I felt so included, like we were part of their family. They were not just attentive to Tobi, but also to me, meeting both our needs and keeping me as calm as possible. Thank you to everyone--Bri, Elle, Sebastian, and Dr. Wickham, you made us feel so seen and loved. If you're looking for a vet who treats your pet and you like family, this is the place. Thank you all so much! I can't thank you guys enough read more

Another review this time for my husky, Moose. Moose had grand mal seizure on Sunday night that lasted about 2 minutes. It scared the crap out of me since he's never had a seizure before. My family had to take him in as I had to run to the human ER due to him biting me and breaking my wrist during the seizure. Despite not being there in person, VEG kept me updated and let my family stay with him. They were very understanding on why I wasn't there for my Moose. They kept him overnight for observation and gave me a dose of emergency meds for Moose incase he has another seizure. This place is amazing and I'm so thankful for them. read more

First of all, Thanks to all of the VEG team for helping our senior English bulldog get some relief yesterday evening. Chunk needed fluid drained from his abdomen - 400ml, 6 hrs and $1000 later - he was comfortable and we were happy to take him home the same night. A special thank you to Dr. Lauren, for explaining her findings and test results to point us in the right direction for next steps in solving our bulldog's health mystery. And a shout out to Kloey for being so amazing with our boy throughout the entire process and procedure to drain the fluid from his abdomen. A couple of things to keep in mind - I think it's always important to listen to your gut and stay in tune with your pet, especially in emergency situations. Set your boundaries, ask questions and make informed decisions. No matter where you go, It's also never fun, quick or very affordable dealing with a pet emergency. The people can make a huge difference. read more

My husband and I brought our cat Fuzzie in to be put down after a long battle of health problems. Fuzzie was over 20 years old. We had gotten her as kitten so she had been our sweet buddy for almost half our life. The staff at VEG were so compassionate and made process very easy. We had a cozy room to hold her and spend her last moments with her. The doctors were so kind and gentle. The entire staff even signed a sympathy card and sent it to us in the mail. It's been a week since we had to say our goodbye but I can't think of a better place we could have chosen. Had to come to VEG to get my dog's sutures restitched. She scratched a (healed) incision site a little too zealously and popped the wound right back open, and although my regular vet would have fixed her back up, driving to Corona on a Friday night wasn't my idea of a good time. All that in mind, my regular vet was able to send my dog's records to VEG so that everyone knew the important details. The staff here from the doctors to the technicians and the receptionist were all very kind and helpful, which is very much appreciated when needing emergency medical attention for a furry family member. The techs did the initial check of my dog while the doctor read her records. A course of treatment was agreed upon and then we waited. I discovered that a pet ER is not much different from a people ER in that there's an inevitable wait...a long one! We came in at 5:30 and didn't come home with our girl until 10:30 :/ As you would imagine, emergency veterinary services aren't cheap. But they do give you an itemized breakdown with recommended procedures and medications for your review and approval. All in all, tho, the whole experience (minus the 5 hour wait) was good. The staff not only was friendly and helpful to us, but just as importantly, they were kind and caring to my dog. I hope I won't need emergency veterinary services for my pets again, but IF I ever do, I'd feel comfortable coming back here. read more

This place is great if your pet was in a real emergency. They have state of the art equipment, do everything out in the open and consult you before every move (but not give you results before upselling you for the next test) If you have something wrong with your animal and it does not seem too urgent I would wait to see your own vet. Just to walk in and be seen cost $200. Then they tacked on another $345 for tests that were negative. Nothing was wrong with the puppy we brought in. They came back in and wanted to do more random testing but after they showed their process I was no longer interested. They would ask for further testing before giving you results of the last test. Then after they start the new testing give you a negative result of your old test. We were in a private room. If you want peace of mind for your pet, have unlimited amounts of money and time then come in. As for me, I' will chalk this up as a lesson learned. The place looked nice and shiny so you will be paying for aesthetics too. Hope your animal feels better. read more

This place was so kind. We had a dental situation for our little guy. We brought him around 10:30pm. They let us know that they didn't feel comfortable extracting the tooth that was really bothering him, causing him to gauge his face and eyes with his paws. So she offered us other help by giving him some pain medication and medication for the infection that was taking over his mouth. They were all very patient and sweet. Good seeing Briana! We are incredibly grateful for the care and compassion the entire team showed us to help us during an emergency with our hamster! We noticed our hamster severely struggling to breathe, eat, and drink after having a reaction to Ivermectin that had been prescribed by another vet clinic. We rushed him to VEG, and the team immediately stepped in to help stabilize him and figure out what was going on. After receiving oxygen treatment and a care plan for an Upper Respiratory Infection, they sent us home with medication and supplemental food to help syringe-feed him. Even though he was just a hamster, he was me and my fiancé's first pet, and the staff truly treated him with kindness and respect. Dr. Stephanie was especially amazing (she told us she owned hamsters in the past) and she took the time to show us how to safely pick him up and feed him so we felt comfortable caring for him at home. She also answered all of our questions thoroughly and was transparent about the high risk of complications given his elderly age (2.5 years old). Over the next few days, we did see improvement. He started eating and drinking again, was breathing better, and even climbing around. He responded really well to the medication and supplemental food. Unfortunately, he relapsed a few days later and passed away in our arms at home, which we were told was a high possibility given how elderly he was. Nonetheless, we were so happy to have those last few 'healthy' days with him spending time with him. To us, that extra time with him was priceless, and that was all thanks to the quick care and professionalism by the VEG team. We took him back to VEG where Brittany helped guide us through the aftercare options with so much compassion. We live in an apartment so we honestly didn't know what options we had. We were given a quiet room to grieve and take our time deciding what felt right for us. We chose a private cremation and were really appreciative of how smooth and thoughtful the process was. About a week later, we received his ashes and paw prints. This was our first pet together so and we are so thankful for the warmth, empathy, and care VEG showed us and our tiny little guy every step of the way. We truly felt supported during one of the hardest experiences, and we couldn't recommend them enough. read more

THE ABSOLUTE BEST. Our family leopard gecko had a prolapse and people who are reptile owners know that this is an EMERGENCY that requires immediate vet care. Imagine all of your gutty works coming out of you. I was panicking so much. After calling 9 other vets and animal hospitals, many of which were booked until the next day or even later, 2 recommended that we reached out to VEG. They take walk ins and although it's quite a far drive from me, the care was immediate. I thought it was super cool that their entire team mobilized for our gecko, Momo's care. It was like watching a hospital drama. Actually, many lifetimes ago, I was an intern at a human ER and it wasn't this clean, caring, or cohesive in their efficiency, collaboration, and level of attention. Dr. Rivera was absolutely amazing (everyone was), but I felt welcomed the entire time that I was there, especially with something so stressful and life endangering to our pet. I also like the open concept of the ER since I can see what's going on and be next to our gecko when I can be. They also had her in an incubator tank in between procedures, which is really nice. I was informed every step along the way and all explanations were made super clear and easy to understand. Momo's procedure was a success and she is healing beautifully. Thelma explained the aftercare with the Critical Care feedings and answered all my questions. I got all the documentation, paperwork, radiographs emailed, texted to me, as well as a physical print out. I also got follow up text messages to check up on Momo which is amazing customer service. I additionally got a recommendation lists for exotic vets specializing in reptiles which is awesome. As it was an emergency surgery, it was pricy ($500+), but the cost was reduced and capped since they ended up not using the second injection, radiograph didn't show being egg bound, not charging for the Critical Care, etc. Can't recommend them enough. Thank you VEG Anaheim Hills for saving Momo! read more

My dog was playing with other dogs in the park. Somebody thought he had swallowed a golf ball sized tennis ball type dog toy. I phone VEG ER and spoke with Dr Lu. She told me about the risk of obstruction and advised bringing the dog in. I rushed my dog over as it had just happened and it is best to remove the foreign body before it passes into the intestine. They explained to me the risks/benefits of inducing vomiting then administered apomorphine. Within a couple of minutes my dog started wretching , vomited some pieces of jerky treats then the 1.9 inch diameter dog toy. Their prompt treatment eliminated the risk of a severe bowel obstruction. The entire staff were a delight to deal with. Highly recommended. read more

The team was amazing throughout the entire process. They went above and beyond our expectations. We brought in Charizard our crested gecko who had a hemipenis prolapse. Most people would think it's just a lizard but their compassion and process was one of a kind and something my partner and I have never experienced before. Allowing us to be with him the entire time, having an open layout that allows for all pet parents to be there through out every moment and even offering us a bed to stay and get some rest while our little guy recovered. My partner and I were considering euthanizing due to the cost of the procedure. (In our experience with other vets if we could not afford the procedure we were forced to either surrender or euthanize). We were just heart broken with this through. But the team comforted us through every decision and truly helped us financially to save our little guy by dramatically reducing the cost and relieving that burden. A huge shout out to Dayna who answered my call and comforted us throughout the entire process. To Jess and Dr.Rivera who took amazing care of Charizard. They both were so compassionate and helped us out with our decisions. Giving us options and how to best support him and truly went beyond by helping us by reducing the financial burden. This team is truly amazing during this difficult time. We will forever be grateful and will definitely be coming back for any emergency, and telling our friends and families about VEG ER for Pets! Thank you guys again for everything! read more

This was my very first visit to Anaheim VEG ER. I ended up here out of sheer desperation since no other 24/7 emergency vet could see my very sick cockatiel. Little did I know that I would end up having an extremely sad but the most incredible experience. Let me start off by stating that this location is very close to the freeway in a very well lit outdoor corner mall with plenty of parking. The frontage of the this 24/7 animal emergency care is in a great safe location, very secure and has a safety process in place. As soon as you walk in you get the open concept vibe which is definitely not your typical doctor's office floor-plan. There are however, a couple private rooms for a variety of scenarios such as safety, privacy and/or isolation just to name a few. This 24/7 vet sees EVERY kind of animal that can fit through there front door! Fur, feather and reptile just to name a few. I have to give the founders absolute props for pioneering this new comforting and successful concept! All the staff I came in contact with was genuinely phenomenal: Dr Yang Bri Willie Claudia Carolina Celia Moses I can honestly say that each and every one of them were genuinely compassionate and caring. Always checking on me to make sure we were OK and offering food, drinks, or any other items of comfort. I seriously can go on and on about my positive experience despite the outcome. I am truly grateful to this team for helping an emotional experience comforting. Seriously..... thank you all SO SO much read more

My two-year-old cat a ginger princess seemed to be losing weight and acting ill, so I brought her in to be evaluated. They did x-rays and bloodwork, and after the x-rays I was told they thought they saw a mass and that it looked like cancer. I was told she would likely die soon. I was absolutely devastated. I left late at night crying with my son, truly believing we were about to lose her. I was even close to making the decision to put her down because I couldn't emotionally or financially handle what I was being told at that moment. They did suggest I go to Pasadena for an ultrasound and biopsy to confirm, so I woke up at 4 AM and drove her there. The testing took all day and was incredibly stressful. In the end, I was told there was no cancer. It turned out to be her organ positioning stacked on one another on the x-ray and some fluid that was biopsied but came back negative. A year later, my cat is now three years old and completely healthy. In total, I spent around $4,000 going through this process, along with a tremendous amount of emotional distress that I will never forget. I understand imaging can sometimes be difficult to interpret, but I wish the initial findings had been communicated that the xray cannot be clear showing what is there because the vet told me he was certain it was a mass and she would not live much longer. I guess she had a stomach ache. She was hydrated and given an appetite stimulant and-is well. I would be more than happy to give more stars because the staff did seem caring and compassionate, but this experience was extremely traumatic and financially draining for my family as a single mom. Within a few days of her coming home my son's stress was so high he had a collapsed lung at the age of 25. It was a rough time for us. read more

On 09/26/25 morning my Tokkie looks off didn't eat or drink. Right away I know it was GI stasis which he had it last week he was better after I provided the emergency care and medications that my primary doctor had provided ahead of time. Then come 09/26/25 he was not feeling well after I have done the emergency care, so I am worry called his primary doctor office where is best to visit since it's urgent. They gave me a list and VEG was the best option so I came right after I got work arrived at 7:00pm I remember clearly that time there is already 3 patient ahead of me and doctors are changing shifts so they are transitioning with what happen and info. But the nurse never forgotten about me Jessica and Indi was the one do most of the work on Tokkie like normal check vitals etc. Then a Lab came in seems critical so right away they work on the Labrador and seems like since I already did most of the work at home Tokkie seems the less sick so I was left in the room. I left my spot because we didn't want to be in the way when the Labrador and his family literally in front of us doing all the critical vitals. Soon a hour goes by waiting then Dr Reid come in sees Tokkie pooped and said what she going to do next but after the Lab take the X ray before us. Then almost a hour goes by take the X ray and IV again this is all done by my dear nurses! After that you get the bill thru text and they only accept credit card. Letting you know both Tokkie and I are super tired after work so all the paperwork when I discharged I did read CAREFULLY and the one thing I ask was more medications! They game me ONLY 7ml.... My primary doctor game me at least 50ml a full small bottle. By the time I got home is almost 11pm I was LITERALLY THERE 3 HOURS. My recommendation they are nice since 24/7 you definitely get care when you need it for emergency but READ all the details before paying and there is ONLY ONE DOCTOR all the nurses are assigned with different patients. Still thank you for a peace of heart. Definitely my nurse Jessica and Indi appreciate when they keep taps with Dr Reid. **See pictures for your reference when your Rabbit on simple GI stasis and myself already did the work for the doctor ahead of time.** read more

My little Pepito was throwing up blood and saliva and my vet said I should take him to the emergency since all the veterinarians were at a meeting that day. I didn't really want to take him to the Corona Emergency hospital because of a previous bad experience. So I started searching yelp for other emergency hospitals and I stumbled across Veterinary Emergency Group in Anaheim Hills. They had great reviews, so I decided to take him there even though it would be an extra 15 minute drive. I had called them and they were so caring over the phone. I was sent the online form to be filled out before arriving. Once I got there, one of the assistants opened the door for me and was lead to one of the stations. She let me know that they have an open room concept, which was pretty cool. I was eventually put in a room, so he could be checked. She offered snacks, coffee, and water as well. Everyone seemed so friendly and supportive. I was there for many hours because Pepito didn't throw up at all at the vet. He received an x-ray and they couldn't see an obstruction, which was great (thank you Jesus), so the veterinarian suggested he get fluids and an anti-nausea shot. We went home and he's been good ever since! Loved this emergency vet and will be bringing my pets here if I'm ever in need of an emergency vet. read more

VEG is absolutely amazing and exceeded our expectations in what we could have ever hoped for with our fur baby. It was our first time ever taking our fur baby to an emergency hospital. We chose this location, although very far from us, based on the good reviews. We wanted to make sure it was a location that would care for our baby and take care of her. We were SO happy we came here. Although, we did not get to come home with our Shadow, she was in the best care from the moment we walked in the door. Our gentle giant was cared for by Dr. Yang, Dr. Misheto and Dr. Ortiz. Not to mention the amazing nursing staff (Miss Mimi especially). They all made us feel so at home and comforted during such a difficult time. We were continuously updated on Shadows status no matter what time of the day and night. THANK YOU VEG for being there for our fur baby and my family during such difficult time. We appreciate you and the work you do! VEG is a gem amongst emergency veterinary care providers. First and foremost, the medical care is EXCELLENT -- thank you to Dr. Colon and Dr. Yang for the consistently quality care for our dog. The doctors are attentive, thorough and knowledgeable. They helped us triage our 3 year old Shepsky after she experienced symptoms suggesting some kind of toxicity and worked tirelessly with the ASPCA poisoning hotline to stabilize, diagnose and treat her. The doctors and staff also provided information on pet insurance and gave recommendations on plans which would best suit our pet for future incidences, as well as a realistic estimate of the likelihood of that day's visit being covered under "accident/injury" (which we need to be honest, is like 50/50 at best but still better than zero). When we arrived initially it was 10:30pm and we were exhausted, with our dog having experienced our initial symptom onset right at bedtime. Once we got to VEG, what followed was an unexpectedly soothing experience: an open concept which allowed us to stay with our pet, separate from other parties, while she was promptly examined and triaged. As the night progressed we also learned that if you're in it for the long haul with your pet, VEG is foresighted enough to also offer clean pillows and blankets, and even a few private exam rooms which (if not in use) have couches which can pull out into little beds. This allowed my mother and I to take turns napping while we awaited bloodwork results for our dog, and was infinitely more comfortable than waiting and worrying in our car or plastic lobby chairs like other vets. They also have light refreshments, water, tea/coffee and small snacks etc available for the owners. Truly humane for both parties (pet and parent). During our time there, we saw them treating: dogs, cats, birds, and bunnies. They had a very thorough quarantine and sanitization protocol for a young (not fully vaccinated) dog who came in at one point, and have separate rooms for exotics (with incubators!) as well as a private cat room. This place is so truly well run. And the doctors; wow! Dr. Yang has a very gentle energy and provided a thorough assessment and plan of action. He was truly so soothing in the initial "crisis" moments for us. As for Dr. Colon, she was equally soothing and had a kind and warm presence which was wonderful as she helped us to further diagnose and stabilize our dog when we had to return with her later in the morning after we had initially returned home with her before her symptoms returned. There are so many more good things to say about this place. The facility has a grassy area with bushes adjacent that you can potty your pet at (accompanied by a staff member at night), and is easy to find, located st the corner of a shopping center with a market, a few restaurants, a cafe and even a pet supply store next door. This last spot came in handy with helping our dog remain calm as I managed to find her the least obnoxious squeaky toy available to distract her. Overall, for what is normally a very crummy situation (sick pet) this was a pleasant surprise. Thank you VEG and thank you Dr. Colon and Dr. Yang! Sincerely, Kiki's mama and sister read more

We had a really rough night with our dog Dusty but these folks were really there for us. Dusty has two chronic conditions that put him at high risk overall for death. He seemed to be recovering from an initial infection of aspirated pneumonia when he started peeing brown. We rushed him to VEG because we were terrified that he might be bleeding internally. Because he's a difficult case the team at VEG did a really good job of ruling things out as well as helping us decide what we should do while we were waiting for our internist's office to open back up. They were kind, they were gentle, and we were with him the whole time. No having them pull them away in the back where you don't know what is happening to them. They work in an open space so that you can be there with your pet the whole time. Amazing setup. It was a very healing experience after all of the really rough ER visits we've had and we were so very grateful. The OC has a really good ER. I highly recommend them. read more

Our 3-year-old girl, Bryanna, hadn't eaten or drunk anything for 10 days. She was so weak that we were losing hope... until we found Veterinary Emergency Group and rushed her in late at night. What we saw that night felt like a scene from ER: Dr. Ortiz and the VEG team were handling multiple emergencies, yet remained calm, focused, and deeply caring. They gave Bryanna the immediate care she needed -- and gave us something we hadn't felt in days: hope. We picked her up the next day, alive, alert, and fighting again. When we walked out of the hospital, I told my husband: "They were so amazing... I almost want to come back." Huge thanks to Dr. Ortiz, Elle at the front desk, and the entire VEG staff. You didn't just save our dog -- you saved our hearts. read more

I came here a couple nights ago after my dog vomited twice and was peeing blood by the end of the night. I called ahead to let them know I was coming in and while my whole body was shaking not knowing what was happening with my dog, the staff member over the phone was calm and kind. When I got there I was still freaking out and they offered me a cup of water and continued to remain calm and level-headed. I know in this field they have to be, but it meant a lot because their demeanor helped me eventually calm down. The whole night staff and Dr. Wickham were so kind, caring and compassionate- not just with my dog but all the other fur babies they were taking care of. Dr. Wickham was informative, answered all my questions, and did not pressure me in any way when it came to consenting to treatment/itemized bill. The staff treated my fur baby with such love and care and I'm so grateful. This was my first time at VEG and while any emergency is not ideal, I'm grateful it was with them! read more

We are beyond grateful for the veterinary emergency team who cared for our cat, Tucker Bear, during a terrifying urinary blockage. From the moment we arrived, their professionalism, clear communication, and genuine compassion stood out. What meant even more to us was how incredibly kind and accommodating they were to our son with special needs, helping care for him so we could focus on Tucker without added stress. Every step of the process was explained clearly, and we felt comforted and supported the entire time. You can truly tell this team loves what they do. Thank you for treating our family, both human and furry with such care and respect. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the entire team at VEG Anaheim Hills. My cat Mo recently had an emergency intestinal blockage, and from the moment we arrived, every doctor and nurse treated him with the highest level of professionalism, kindness, and compassion. Dr. Ortiz performed Mo's surgery, and I am truly grateful for her skill and expertise. The procedure went perfectly, and Mo was able to come home within just 24 hours - something I honestly never expected. His recovery has been incredible. He's eating extremely well and has more energy and appetite than ever. He is healing beautifully thanks to their excellent care. Every staff member we interacted with was gentle, patient, and supportive. They kept us updated throughout the entire process, answered all of our questions, and made a very stressful situation feel manageable and reassuring. I felt completely confident leaving Mo in their hands. Thank you to Dr. Ortiz and the entire VEG team for saving Mo and giving him such an amazing recovery. You are all truly exceptional. Highly, highly recommended! read more
