Look at that face. He will live a better life now. Thank you Brightcare.

My French bulldog Archie had a very complicated and rare condition that was expertly solved by the good folks at Brightcare veterinary group. His surgery was a success and there's been no complications. Here is his story. Two months ago, Archie had developed a slight wobble and trouble keeping his balance in the hind quarters. He had a bulging disk operation previously, So I took him to see his usual neurologist in Los Angeles. We soon discovered, after MRIs, this was no routine disk bulging , something very different and rare had occurred. A cyst was growing inside the sheath that surrounds the spinal cord and put pressure on his nerves. This Animal Hospital proposed an elaborate procedure and wanted to have several different departments in the operating room including orthopedics to apply plates and screws to his spine after neurology had removed the cyst . I found this to be too invasive and be certain to have a long recovery time. I sought another opinion and went to another neurology center in Orange County and the doctor there told me the spinal cord was scarred, he would not be any better after an operation, he would become paralyzed so the answer there was let it run its course do nothing. I then thought maybe there's a neurology center that works with special equipment that's less invasive and had more experience. I added that to my online search particulars and discovered Brightcare and made an appointment. I talked with Dr. Gorgi, he knew about this condition, even specializing in it in his residency years. He spoke of their special bariatric recovery chamber. He talked of less invasive process he uses and saved Archie from a paralyzed future. Just imagine the care and surgical expertise required to remove a cyst inside the spinal cord without causing any collateral damage. Super talented for complicated cases. Worth the long drive. Thank you to the friendly front desk folks and the talented Vet techs. Ivan, Archie sez hi and he misses you. Archie spent 10 days in post op care and Ivan was his midnight nurse.

Our 12-year-old Golden Retriever was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor on March 14, 2024 after suffering 2 seizures. Since then, I have been taking him to BrightCare for checkups, at first, every three, now, every six months, and I have been consistently impressed by the expertise and compassionate care provided. Thanks to Dr. Shoup's exceptional knowledge to treat his diagnosis, our dog has not experienced a seizure since March 14, '24. He has been receiving effective therapeutic care since the diagnosis. Under BrightCare's guidance, he continues to live a happy and fulfilling life. I highly recommend Dr. Shoup and the BrightCare team for any pet facing a similar diagnosis. Thank you BrightCare team!!

When I took my 12 year old puppy Wiskey in it was to late, he had died in his sleep. It was 11:00 pm on Dec. 29, I was beside myself with grief, probably in a bit of shock and didn't know what to do. I ended up taking my pup to Brightstar and they were wonderful. I wish they were a regular vet service because they would be my new vets. I'm going there today to pick up my pups remains and bring him home. What was really unexpected was the sympathy card I got signed by the whole staff; thank you so much.

RUN AWAY. GO to Rise! I had to take my dog here for a neurologic disorder. She was in the hospital for 5 days & I could not put my finger on it but my gut told me not to come back. Staff couldn't answer basic questions at discharge and read off a script. Couldn't even pronounce medical terms. After my dogs 2nd round of treatment when our neurologist was out. Staff was so vague with me. Never gave discharge instructions and NO one called me back after I let them know she wasn't doing well. I knew from day 1 I should have received a 2nd opinion. I finally did and today after a 3rd round of treatment at Rise I realized that Brightcare for the exact same treatment charges over $1100-1200 and up for the treatment Rise charges $250-$350 for. The Rise staff were in total disbelief when I showed the almost apples to apples invoice. RUN from Brightcare. I would have never thought to post a review until I realized how much they were charging. I feel bad for Dr. Shoup because she really is a good neurologist. The thing that disturbs me the most is that if I did not have insurance the thought of having to pay $1200 each month to keep my dog alive would be so economically hard. Many families CANNOT afford this. So what do they do Brightcare???? Put their dogs down because you want to charge $1000 more per month than Rise who is down the street? Makes me so ill just thinking about it.

when I was down and out and struggling, and my dog was almost dying, Dr. Robert Righter stepped up and all the support staff I 100% recommend this hospital! I can't tell you what this doctor did for me. I was losing my shit. I thought my dog was gonna die and this doctor saved him and actually gave me a huge discount on the finances. i'm probably not supposed to say that but he did you know why because he's full of compassion and he's kind I 100% recommend this hospital at any time you have an emergency I even found this anywhere ever so this is an absolute endorsement of this hospital. He saved my Henry. I'm forever grateful.

This review is long overdue but I just want to personally say I appreciated how this emergency vet handled and took care of my 14yr old basset hound when she had passed on December 25th of 2021 in the morning. She had passed at home. About 1-2hrs later, I was recommended this vet by a friend who used their services and called letting this vet know we'd be coming to have my baby cremated and taken care of. I was really grateful due to them being open on Christmas morning because I was a mess and ran out of options. Some of these reviews are harsh and I can't help but to feel they're over exaggerated. This is Yelp so it's easy to hide your identity along with that, this is an very privileged area of Orange County. There are plenty of vets here, emergency vets as well. You just need to keep looking for a vet that is affordable to you and treats your pet with the care and attention they deserve. I'm pretty confident that most pet owners have found vets that work and don't so honestly, I feel a lot of these reviews are over exaggerated when there's more places that'll take care of your baby.

From the moment we walked in, the team (Brandon especially) stood out. Brandon was incredibly kind, patient, and communicative, which made a huge difference for us as anxious parents. He loves labs too and mocha loves being loved! Toni, Julie, Serena and Marcela were amazing with mocha too and really helped calm some of her stress too Dr Sohn took the time to thoroughly talk with us, gather Mocha's history, and understand everything that was going on. We never felt rushed or brushed off, they made sure we were fully informed and prepared for each step. Most importantly, they helped keep us calm during an overwhelming situation. They didn't try to oversell unnecessary tests, but they also made sure to run a comprehensive set of diagnostics so that no possibilities were overlooked. It felt like they genuinely cared about doing what was best for Mocha, not just checking boxes. Overall, we felt supported, heard, and confident in the care Mocha received. We're very grateful to the team and would definitely recommend them!

That leads to me believe that it's not even actually him responding to people on Yelp. A manager of the hospital called and said they were the best person to help me, and I insisted that I speak to Mr. Cao. They continued on that they are the managers and the best people to help me, but I insisted that I talked to someone that is actually a doctor and not administrative. it has been more than three days. We got an analysis of the fluid in his abdomen that built up, which was more than a pint and a half and this hospital allowed it to remain and didn't even take a sample like they promised to do. The analysis showed that his body is fighting some sort of infection and his blood cells rapidly increased. Not only could they have removed the fluid, but they could have given him an antibiotic. They failed to give our antibiotic to our French bulldog as well when he had an infection. In my opinion, it is cruelty to a dog to do what they did and just take my money and allow him to suffer. He is anemic and fighting an infection and basically fighting for his life. Now they won't even respond to me. There are a few good doctors here that do the right thing. But has a hole, two out of our four visits in the last year. These guys have not done what was right for our dogs and left two dogs in pain leaving their hospital without proper care.

While they aren't the closest option for me(which could make things difficult in an emergency), the level of care and professionalism I experienced today truly stood out. I especially appreciated the cardiologist and the vet techs. After my cat's heart ultrasound, they immediately brought her back to me instead of making me wait while payment was processed. That small gesture spoke volumes. It made me feel trusted and respected as a client, rather than treated like a transaction. What also stood out was the way they handled my cat with patience and care. Unlike some other hospitals I've encountered, no one came into the room claiming they couldn't manage her tiny 8-pound self or suggesting they needed to turn her away. The staff treated her compassionately and professionally from start to finish. Overall, it was genuinely a positive experience, and I wish more veterinary hospitals would adopt similar practices. I strongly recommend Dr. Sara Miller, she has an incredible bedside manner and made a stressful situation feel much easier to navigate.

She had already gone to her doctor earlier that day and was treated, and we thought she might be ok for the night at home; however, once the pain meds wore off, she was definitely not feeling well. We took her to the Fountain Valley Emergency Pet Hospital, and she was treated wonderfully. I've had previous poor experiences with other emergency rooms, but this one was different. From the moment we walked in, she had her vitals taken quickly. We then waited (not long) for her to see a doctor, and the doctor came in to give us an idea of what needed to be done. We left her there for further testing, fluids, and pain control. We were contacted, and the results were reviewed over the phone (I was sent links for radiology and labs) to go over them with the doctor. The plan of care was thoroughly explained, and she felt better the next morning. I even received updates and a photo from that evening. We picked her up and were sent home with medical records and everything she needed to continue care with her regular primary vet. Everything was also sent directly to her regular primary care vet. Everyone was pleasant and truly seemed to care about the circumstances. Dr You was great with her and very good at going over the results. Honey was treated like family. She left in the morning and was on the road to recovery along with her primary vet, whom we took her to that day. Lo and behold, the following week, Honey was outside using the backyard restroom when a coyote attacked her. Our black lab rescued her, and I am so thankful nothing worse happened. Be careful, it's Coyote season! I knew when that happened she had a laceration to her face and it would need to be repaired, it was after hours so there we went back to Fountain Valley Emergency Pet Hospital. We were seen relatively quickly; they had a busy night, and the doctor was in surgery when we arrived. Honey was stable, so we waited until she could be seen. Dr. Hoogeveen saw Honey and she was great, she came to speak to us and explain what Honey would need and the best course of treatment for her. Honey had to undergo general anesthesia, which we were extremely concerned about, given her age and the fact that she was still recovering from a very rough bout of pancreatitis. Dr. Hoogeveen walked us through it, answered all of our questions, and provided direction for her care. Honey stayed the night again, once Dr. Hoogeveen was done with the surgery she contacted us to let us know how everything went. We were able to pick up Honey in the morning, and she looked well. Honey recovered well,l and they took good care of her. Honey is now recovering at home after a very stressful two week,s and I am grateful that we had a place to go to for her care when her regular Vet was closed. As far as cleanliness, it's very clean. The staff are all wonderful. They offer different payment options, such as CareCredit and Cherry. I don't know if they offer others, but we were able to qualify for Cherry, which was a considerable relief after an expensive two weeks! Honey is now recovering at home. The only wish I have is that they would be open a bit later during the weekdays. Not every regular vet is open early for transfer. Hopefully, in the future, that can be an option. I wouldn't hesitate to take your pet here if you need emergent care. I appreciate that they treated Honey like family. Hopefully, we won't be back anytime soon, but I still recommend them if you need to!

To be clear, the veterinarian provided excellent care, several of the vet assistants were wonderful, and I've generally had positive experiences with the front desk. My dog had surgery to remove a cyst, and the procedure itself was handled very well. For that, I'm truly grateful. Unfortunately, the issue came afterward. When checking out, I questioned the high cost of the medication and mentioned that I normally use Chewy or Allivet. The front desk encouraged me to use their pharmacy instead, assuring me the prescription would be approved quickly and the service would be reliable. Since my dog needed an antibiotic daily for 10 days, I agreed and purchased enough locally to cover four days in case of shipping delays. The medication didn't even ship for three days. By Monday, I was almost out and contacted the office. Instead of receiving understanding or help, I was told it was my fault for ordering through their pharmacy and that I could either pay an inflated price for more pills or "figure it out myself." Of course, I had no choice but to pay because my dog needed the medication. Now I've learned the shipment won't arrive until next Monday, after the medication is no longer needed, forcing me to buy even more locally just to complete the treatment. The delay is frustrating, but the real disappointment is the lack of ownership, empathy, and support when their recommended solution failed. Integrity matters most when something goes wrong. Sadly, because of this experience, I'll be finding a different veterinarian moving forward.

The front desk person, as well as the nursing and supporting staff, were polite and kind, but that's the only compliment I have, unfortunately. Since my dog was suffering post-op, I was filled with worry and stress, and needed and expected medical guidance I could trust. I feel like I did not get that from my dog's attending vet and head of the department, Dr. April Summers. Dr. Summers did update me every day on my dog's status, but I felt that she failed to concisely communicate sound options for next steps. Her thoughts seemed scattered and sometimes contradictory to me, and she admitted during a phone call that my dog''s case "frustrated" her. This made me wary of my dog's treatment. My feelings were heightened, when during a visit, I found my dog's tail covered in urine. Even more concerning, during that same visit, we were taken to a room where we were provided with a tank of oxygen, which my dog needed. An hour later, my mom wondered if the tank was on. She asked a nurse who confirmed that it was off and turned it on. Because of my negative experience with Dr. Summers and her team, I would never advise anyone to leave their pet's care with AVSG Critical Care at this time.

The vehicle that Dr. Becky uses to transport our beloved boy was arranged beautifully. She had a blanket to keep him covered while he was transported into her van. She allowed us to have extra goodbye time and we each got to say goodbye again. My only suggestion for people who are paying for these services would be when the doctor asks If you'd prefer to complete payment before or after services, choose before. I chose to do it after and providing a payment while you're actively grieving is an interesting feeling and sight, and I'm sure it could also be uncomfortable for the doctor seeing a family crying and still having to ask for method of payment - sorry Dr. Becky. Once my family and I arrived to pick up Sonny, at the address provided, the woman at the desk very kindly went to the back to grab our boy. She opened the gift box, created by Honor Pet, and revealed a beautiful wooden box with intricate carvings, the certification of water cremation (impressive service), a vial of my boy's fur, and the 2 paw prints we paid for. What we didn't pay for, that this company Honor Pet provided, was a candle that came with a cute poem, a packet of flower seeds (Forget-Me-Nots....are you crying yet?), a brochure for Pet Loss Grief, and my favorite one that I was not expecting..a little cardstock page, maybe 4x6" of his big booper snooper. My boys nose that I kissed so frequently in life, and was the last thing I kissed before saying goodbye to his body. We paid for the ashes, the paws, and I don't remember if the vial of fur was included or not, but the manner that each person and company, At Home Pet Euthanasia and Honor Pet, took care of Sonny and my family, made it worth every penny. When making the difficult decision at the vet's office to take him home, they offered to lower the price to be able to help us. We said, it's not all about the money, it's what we want for him. So, is it expensive? Yeah, but everything is. Could our situation have been handled or cared for better than it was? Probably not. I will recommend these services to anyone unfortunate enough to need them because they truly care about you and your loved one and we felt that.

Thank you to everyone at this company, to the sweet lady that took my call the night before whose…read morename I didn't catch, to Dr. Daniel for being so compassionate and patient. My 14 year old boy was suffering from organ failure from a quick and aggressive cancer. And though we tried to save him, it all happened so quick and we unfortunately had to make the call to give him peace. The quickness of everything left me scrambling to find a vet that could come the next day. I knew I wanted my boy to pass on his favorite couch surrounded by family, and luckily this wonderful company had an opening for the following day. Dr. Daniel explained how everything would happen and I could tell he went peacefully. The only discomfort he had was the sedation shot which Dr. Daniel explained would sting just a little bit. I can't express how grateful I am to have had such a beautiful process arranged for my boy The best final gift to him Though it can be pricey, it's worth absolutely every penny to have had such a wonderful end of life experience as this Thank you all
