Katie is now 7 and normally we only have to visit the gang at Parkdale for her annual check up. Starting in march she was getting diarrhea every couple weeks and as quickly as it came on it cleared up. This went on for 3 months and we were doing various things to try and solve the problem. Dr. Rosnick was so helpful calling me at home to check in with us. Katie is very nervous and he takes the time with her to make her feel comfortable. We ended up changing her food about a month ago and since haven't had any abnormal stool (knock on wood!). Dr. Rosnick called again the other day to touch base, totally going the extra mile. I am so appreciative of the care he has given to Katie to get her well again. All of the staff are friendly and helpful, I highly recommend Parkdale animal hospital!

He refused to give my dog ear meds during this pandemic and made up a stupid excuse and is making me take my at risk dog with breathing issues to a new vet instead of just issuing her the meds. He did this because he found out I refuse to let my animals see him. He also almost had me give my dog a $3500 tooth surgery when he wouldn't even look in her mouth. He was positive she needed surgery knowing it can kill her and I kept saying she was stung by a bee and he put her on serious meds for infections and it ended up being a bee sting. I would rather a 5 year old take care of my dogs medical needs than that evil man.

The previous vet was amazing, but far from my new condo. I was looking for a new vet close by and decided to go to this clinic based on the good reviews on Yelp. Leo and I first time was for his annual check-up and we were assigned to Dr. Sun. She is extremely kind yet straight forward, has great knowledge and takes the time to listen to all of my questions. And believe me, I do ask a lot of questions. I am sort of a mamma bear when it comes to my cat. After the check-up, she said she would come up with a plan to reduce my cat's crystals and maintaining his weight. I got a e-mail from her the next morning with a detailed plan and portion ratio. She even replied to my further inquiries within the hour. The staff is truly wonderful. They know what products, food or techniques is good for your pet depending on the situation, you can tell they really care about their patients and owners.

However, we had a bad 2.5 years at Bay Dog Hospital with our complex needs dog. He has a pacemaker and seizures; this summer, he could have died from a very aggressive head infection which they did not spot during an exam because they did not look in his ear. I thought I made it clear when I made our first appointment that we expected to see the owner/lead vet when we brought him in for his first annual, but Gabby was on an emergency that day. Perhaps there was a miscommunication? In any event, I made it absolutely clear that day that we wanted to see only a senior Vet, and the same Vet, going forward. She was not available for booster shots six months later or 18 months later, or for the next annual. Every time we brought our dog, it was a different Vet. Almost never did Vets or techs introduce themselves to us; we are friendly folks and found this discourteous. One of the "vets of the day" suggested that our dog have his teeth cleaned, and when we reminded him that our dog has a pacemaker and so, special care would be needed in sedating him, we never got a call back. One day this past summer, I realized that my dog was somewhat listless...normally bounding with energy, he did not want to walk much. I made an appointment for that day but while my husband was driving to the clinic, they called and told us to go to University of Guelph!! I said "well, it's nothing to do with his pacemaker; I contacted Guelph and they said we just need a regular Vet; he is coming!!" (Imagine being rejected and told to drive two hours!) We were charged over $650 for an exam and tests; the vet told my husband that she had done a "full exam". The next morning, Finn could not pick up a ball in the park. he laid down and I sat beside him; stroking his ear, I noticed it was full of stuff...I touched it briefly and liquid shot up under my fingernail: the whole ear was full of dark goo!! I carried him all the way home, so distressed. We phoned the vet office; a rude receptionist said "you are paying this time!"....we hadn't even mentioned money...just wanted to bring the dog back! The male tech dragged Finn around the parking lot when Finn would not walk w him to give a urine sample. I asked him to stop but he was so angry. Jerk! The vet of the day cleaned a large quantity of pus out of Finn's ear; she did not charge us. That was Saturday. By Thursday we rushed Finn to the Vet Emergency Clinic for emergency head surgery: the infection in his ear had spread to his eye and his jaw... Imagine if we had simply relied on the statement that a full exam had been done! Thank God my dog laid down so I could stroke him and spot the mess in his ear! Some time later, my husband had a chat w the owner, who said that they had not felt comfortable dealing with Finn. Why didn't you just tell us that, rather than pawning us off on the vet of the day, trying to turn us away in an emergency, and not even looking in the dog's ear out of fear. We are on our fourth Vet now. He did a cardiology rotation in Guelph and feels quite comfortable dealing w our dog. He refused to charge us for a rabies shot recently...he'd felt badly that the paperwork was unclear (he is our fourth Vet now; the first one (who may have damaged Finn's heart during the neuter operation) is no longer practising). He, like the other three Vets we've been to apart from this clinic, always makes his appointments. Feeling a bit battered, but grateful to be dealing w our new Vet instead of a clinic that could have courteously asked us to move on...even given us a referral...rather than trying to avoid us during an emergency, and claiming to have done a full exam. I can bet that "difficult client" is written all over our file at Bay Dog Hospital, but we simply love and want to protect our complex needs dog. Wouldn't you?

My dog required an emergency spay because of some additional health problems and Dr. Bhatti was able to do the procedure within a few days of my first appointment. As I had some financial restraints, Dr. Bhatti was willing to work within my budget and also was willing to omit some testing that I felt wasn't needed at that time. Also included in the spay price was the collar, medications to be taken after the procedure and a follow up appointment. I was hopeful that the spay would take care of my dog's health issue, but it did not, and I returned to Dr. Bhatti for some additional treatment for my dog. Joy had some unusual bleeding and without some costly diagnostic procedures it was going to be difficult to find the exact cause. Dr. Bhatti again was very helpful and discussed various options with me. He researched different approaches and therapies, including a traditional Chinese herbal medicine. Dr. Bhatti did his best to offer us the best solutions based on what I could afford. While I would have loved to be able to take Joy to a specialist, I wasn't financially able. Instead of going to a specialist, Dr. Bhatti suggested that he could do an exploratory operation and hopefully find the cause of the problem. He explained the procedure in detail to me, discussed the pro's and cons and took the time to answer any questions I had. I am happy to say that Dr. Bhatti was able to find and repair what was causing Joy to bleed and she has had no problems since. This whole process went on for 5 months, between the time she was first spayed until Dr. Bhatti did the exploratory surgery. During this time, Dr. Bhatti's assistants would call every few weeks to check up on Joy. When she had her spay and surgery completed, I had a phone call the next morning to make sure all was ok. I would call occasionally if I had concerns and Dr. Bhatti always returned my call the same day. His office staff and assistants were always very pleasant, helpful and caring. Dr. Bhatti has an obvious love of animals, he was always very caring and gentle with Joy. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain every thing to me every step of the way. I was very appreciative that I was never made to feel that I wasn't doing enough or that I must do things a certain way. Dr. Bhatti presented different options, and we worked together to find the best option that worked for me and Joy. I can never thank Dr. Bhatti and the staff at Dixie Eglinton Animal Clinic and My Own Vets for treating us so well and giving such excellent care to Joy. I highly recommend Dixie Eglinton Clinc and My Own Vets, I look forward to seeing them in a few months for Joy's regular check up

I had my youngest cat spayed by him ~12 years ago, and to date it is the only time I have seen her comfortable with a human other than my direct family. He was so sweet and gentle with her, and so far has been the only vet to be able to record a true resting heart rate from her, because with every other vet since (and beforehand) she is always terribly anxious. I would take her back to him if I could, but at the very least I can leave this review.
