The prices were very reasonable for an emerg clinic and the care was out of this world wonderful! My cat Samuel was very ill - dehydrated, not eating, losing weight. He was rapidly deteriorating within a week. I brought him to my regular vet and they recommended 24 hr care. I was sent to CTVRC where the staff was waiting for me and Samuel to arrive. I left him there and the staff assured me he was in good hands. The next morning Dr. Goldstein called me and proudly reported " Your boy is eating like a champ." The fluids and antibiotics were working and Samuel was making a turn around for the better. He was there for 5 days and I was able to visit every day as the clinic does provide a family room with a comfy couch. Dr. Goldstein is one of the most amazing vets I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, and has a real love for animals. I always laugh when he picks up Samuel after an examination and cradles him in his arms as he talks to me about the next course of action to be taken. He really does care about his patients! I urge you to scroll through their other negative reviews; you will notice a recurring pattern in management's responses: a defensive, gaslighting tone that blames the owner to deflect from their own clinical and communication failures. I am sharing my senior cat's (12.5 years old) journey to warn you. While their surgical skills may be adequate, their post-operative "care" is a transactional nightmare. 1. Management's "Gaslighting" & Refusal of Accountability When my cat suffered a preventable post-op infection due to their vague and insufficient wound-care instructions, the response was not professional concern, but aggressive defensiveness. The manager's response (see attached screenshot) is a masterclass in "victim-blaming." Sage was given adequate pain relief but the bone cancer that was killing him meant there was to be no happy outcome. We spent one last night with our family member and the next day we put him to sleep. To Dr. Kirkham who first saw him, thank you for your thorough and gentle examination of Sage and for prescribing him the pain meds that got him through the last night as we slept beside him. To Dr. Laura Kupers who guided us through the euthanization process with a gentleness for Sage and an unbelievable amount of compassion for myself and my wife we will never forget you. Dr. Kupers you were born, destined to walk this path in life. He's patient, kind, and truly cares -- not just about the animals, but about the people who love them. She took several pictures of the mass and immediately sent them to a specialist. The specialist advised us that the mass should be removed and he has since operated on our dog. Our dog is now recovering nicely. If Dr. Weintrop had not found the mass it would probably have grown larger and needed reconstructive surgery. Thankfully Dr. Weintrop found the mass very early. Dr. Weinthrop always demonstrates an amazing array of knowledge and skill, undivided attention to every detail, infinite commitment, compassion, devotion, gentleness and love to our dog every time he visits her. On a personal side you could not find a more genuinely compassionate and caring wonderful human being. Our dog and family love her! The following are a few examples of some of the other amazing people who work at Leaside Animal Clinic and their acts of kindness. A few days ago the specialist wanted to see follow up routine photos of our dog's eye lid (as we didn't have an appointment with him until the following week). I was too squeamish to take the pictures myself so I saw Dr. Rutchanka as Dr. Weintrop wasn't working that day. She tenderly held our dog's eye lid while Alicia skillfully took pictures. Dr. Rutchanka then gently cleaned up the area around both of my dog's eyes. Even though we took Dr.Rutchanka and Alicia's time we were not charged for the visit. Our dog is injected with a needle every two weeks and 2 needles every four weeks. He has had the wonderful care of all of the technicians at one time or other. Each and every one of them has gently knelt on the floor while petting our dog to get him comfortable in preparation for his needle(s) and then skillfully injected our dog while talking lovingly to him. We have taken our present dog to Leaside Animal Clinic in an emergency situation twice. Both times our dog was seen and treated right away. Every staff member possesses compassion, dedication and demonstrates great kindness and patience to all the animals in their care which I see evidence of every time I visit Leaside Animal Clinic. I spayed my girl cat in 2007, at a vet clinic near Bloorcourt village. A much more invasive procedure comes with the price tag. My tip money for two weeks went to the $250 dollar vet bill for second shots and spaying. This is normal, anaesthesia, cutting in, maneuvering a small feline body to do an ovariohysterectomy = money! I took my baby boy cat to the Davenport Rd Vet Clinic in 2010. I asked for a quote for the neutering, as I realized the prices may be high (considering the first consultation cost $170 unexpected dollars). What was the quote? $500. CRAZY! Do not go here. The care and customer service do not equate to that kind of bill, I don't care how much you love your pet. The prices are probably high due to location. Annex, Forest Hill, Yorkville, in the clinic's backyard. Unfortunately, I am not a doctor making 6 digits. I love my guys, but I found a nicer vet, for a much more reasonable price, in the exact same area.

His vet Dr. Yearwood has always been kind, compassionate, knowledgable & informative. I would second my hubby's review of Dr. Yearwood. When we adopted our second cat we took him to Dr. Yearwood to be checked out. He was very good with our cat . And our cat seemed to like him as well. The clinic is clean, bright, & the staff have always been cheerful & courteous. Fees for things such as testing samples are a reasonable price. On a side note, I wouldn't go with the food recommendations he made for our cat, however. The special cat food he recommended doesn't match what I've read on cat nutrition. I've read many books now on cat nutrition & while I'm not an expert, I can see the results of the food we're feeding our cat as opposed to what he always used to eat. But from what I gather, all vets are trained to recommend the manufactured food by companies like Iams, etc. The problem is that large pet food manufacturers sponsor programs at vet schools. So they're led to believe this is healthy food for your cat or dog. Do the research & check it out. Don't just feed your animal the cheapest food you can get but the best food you can afford. Even making your own cat or dog food is healthier.

I was an emotional wreck when I got his diagnosis, but the team did a great job of offering genuine empathy and support. They provided me with advice that I use on a daily basis to maintain my cat's health and I've called in on a few occasions to ask for help, which they are always happy to provide. I have also used their pet boarding service - They took good care of my cat and gave him all his special meals and scheduled medication. At my request, they provided me with a detailed report of everything that happened while he was under their care. The cost is on the higher end - Especially for prescription medications. As a result, I prefer to get the prescriptions refilled elsewhere. However, I will continue to bring my pets here for check-ups as the expertise, service and dedication of the vets, techs and admin staff is worth the money.

Just came back from our new vet in a smaller town for my dog's annual and the Dr. told me his heart is in excellent shape for a dog his age. I asked about the murmer and he said "What murmer? , your dog's heart is fine." It's a terrible shame that Blue Cross has sunk that low to attempt to financially bleed pet owners this way. Dr. Beverly Bateman suggested a tool called the furminator to remove excess hair and reduce hairballs. This holistic approach kept him in great shape for years, although he eventually had to be put down. After four years, I have a new, older adoptee. When I brought my senior cat to Dr. Bateman, she was a sickly cat. She had serious eye problems and an acute flare-up of feline herpes. Dr. Bateman helped to quickly resolve it and within a few short weeks she was looking like a healthy cat! Dr. Bob Watson also efficiently helped resolve a wound she had on her ear. Your pets are their passion - they will return every phone call and email, and take such good care of them. They partner with you to take care of your pets at every stage of life, and I honestly wouldn't trust my pets to anyone else.

The clinic also ripped us off greatly by not emphasizing how advanced my pets dental condition was a year prior and i ended up over a barrel paying a hideous cost. My pet was under anasthesia when they called me to say how extensive the work needed was and couldn't not have it done after they'd already started. This was I feel a hideous scam that hurt my pet. I would definitely recommend going somewhere else, I found out after the fact that this office is corporate owned and there have been issues.
