My sister picked up the butterflies for us the day before the service, and everything was perfectly packaged with clear and easy-to-follow instructions. We followed their care guidelines exactly, and the butterflies were calm and healthy at release. During the memorial, one butterfly gently landed on my finger and stayed with me for nearly a minute before flying off. It felt like a sign--a quiet, sacred moment of connection--and gave our family so much peace. That image will forever be etched in our hearts. The butterfly release was the perfect, gentle way to close the service and honor our son. I'm incredibly grateful to the Suh family for providing something so beautiful and healing. They helped explain the proper care needed for the butterflies and are there to encourage others to become hosting places for the monarch's migration (which is amazing that they are hosts and are helping these amazing butterflies help our planet!). She met with us twice before the event--once to show us the space and again the week before the party to walk through everything after we had booked. The venue is very spacious and can easily accommodate 150-200 guests. The website provides clear information about pricing, logistics, and floor plans, making the booking process straightforward. The location is fantastic--just a few blocks from the beach--with five reserved parking spaces right in front. It's a beautiful venue and a wonderful place to celebrate any occasion.

Very kind, patient ( I asked a lot of questions ), detailed & prompt. Gail was very helpful with our walkthrough of the center and checklist requirements. One thing to note is to be respectful of rules provided to maintain the space as well as the community, the beautiful center is in the middle of a residential area. So please be mindful of others and hold your guests accountable. Overall an incredible experience 10/10. I will definitely plan for other celebrations of life here.

The staff is absolutely incredible and truly care about every woman who steps foot in the door! Wiseplace provides counseling, meals, helps woman find employment, amongst many other things. They have such great structure and balance, which shows in their successful turnover rate! Many of the woman seeking help, even come back to volunteer! How great is that!!! Give back to your community and reach out to them for a variety of volunteer positions and ways you can help! Message me with any questions! The Garvey Avenue Community Center always have a lot of activities going on. It has plenty of…read moreparking spaces in the front and the back of the building. It is also used for city council meeting so its location is well known within the city. Getting in and out is a bit of wait as Garvey is a major thoroughfare and traffic often backs up at Garvey and Rosemead. Sometime I turn on Lee Street to get around the jam. But I digressed. Back to the Center. For some reason I can't explain, I used to refer to this center as the senior center. I often see people playing table tennis, and hold yoga/dance & exercise classes here. Come on by when you are in the area. Staff at the reception counter are great resources to answer questions.

But, you can rent out various rooms in the lodge - huge banquet room (200+), another smaller room (70 people), and the outdoor covered tent area. The chef provides very tasty food for events. The Event/Banquet Manager works efficiently and is very helpful with clients wanting to the book the space. We used the banquet room for a 50th Class Reunion. There were 160 attendees. We used the stage for our DJ, and although most of the space was for tables and chairs, we still had a small area for dancing. And the auxiliary space was used for our photo booth. There is bar in the banquet room and the bartenders were great with keeping the drinks flowing for the attendees. Attached is a photo of the stage before we decorated and the other photo is an evening out in the tent - strings of lights help create the perfect ambiance for dinner with a band.

Reached out to the DAV for assistance going over my medical records. I explained i needed help with…read moreupgrading my discharge to a medical retirement. The manager Danny Soto called said they would be able to assist and sent over a POA via email. I sent the email back within 10 min of receiving it and i have not heard back from them for 2 months. They dont answer emails or phone calls. As a DAV Memeber this is unacceptable. We pay to be a member of the DAV and this is how your treated? Find another organization to help you because these guys wont. Dont tell people you can help them than ignore them afterwards.
