I cannot say enough about the Aurora MyActingStudio. Charles has created such a gem, a place to go and learn about acting no matter what level you are. I pull something from every class I have taken. It's truly such a beautiful atmosphere, you never feel judged, you are encouraged to take risks and fail. Just like anything in life, failure is the best teacher, you must fail to learn. You must take risks to succeed. I've had the chance to learn from Charles and Genevieve; they are both so insightful and knowledgeable about the art form. They know how to pull things out of you so that you can truly be real to the scenes. They teach to any level you are, whether you are seasoned or starting out. And you never feel judged. I've had so much fun at this studio and that's what it is all about. We are there to have fun, and learn. They make the process enjoyable while also so enlightening. If you are looking for places to go, whether to deepen your already vast knowledge about acting or starting out, please believe when i say you won't be disappointed taking a class at the Aurora theater. They teach things that go far beyond acting, things you can bring into your everyday life. It is well worth it. I can go on and on, however I'll leave you with this, if you are scouring the internet researching a bunch of classes, I have been there too. Over researched, and at some point you need to just take action. I have been so thankful I took action and went to My Acting Studio. I encourage you to take action too, sign up, I promise you will be glad you read more

Awesome place where beginners are welcome! They do a great job of creating a fun environment where people can learn about acting.

My Acting Studio's Foundation Level One class, taught by Charles Tintendo, Fall 2022 - it was exactly what I needed: Before taking My Acting Studio's Foundation Level One, I had taken a few foundation-level acting classes before this. One class for stanislavski method through city academy, one class through Cal State Long Beach's theater program, and one class for Voice Acting 101 through Closing Credits (highly recommend that last class for *voice acting* technique, but not necessarily becoming good at *acting*). My Acting Studio's foundation level class is the best one - by far. Charles cares, and he is competent. He cut straight to the heart of what was holding me back. Only 3 weeks into the class, and I was feeling a big difference in my auditions. Through Charles' direction and my supportive peers, I gained the confidence to get out of my own way, to be myself - on, and off the stage. This is coming from someone who already had acting experience. I had written, directed, and acted in short films, voice acted in audio dramas, and was fully comfortable performing on stage. I should also say I had a great set of classmates. So supportive. It really helped. Even made a few friends. My class was full of newcomers to acting and those with experience like me. We all seemed to get a lot out of this class. So, if you think you got a handle on this acting thing, or you just want to see what its all about, Charles Tintendo's Foundation Level One class at My Acting Studio might be just what you need. Thank you, Charles read more

I had the pleasure of taking the Comedy Class with Charles Sanchez at My Acting Studio 1. So much fun! Comedy, in my opinion, is a really challenging art form, and Charles has a good ear for comedy and is able to pull the funny right out of you. 2. From day one we were taught what it was like to stand up on stage. It's def a bit scary to be up there, and Charles was very supportive and kind. He created a safe environment to explore our joke topics, which are usually pretty close to the heart. I wasn't afraid to go up there and make a fool out of myself 3. After we chose our joke topics, Charles helped us trim the fat out of our sets so that each joke mended together seamlessly. 4. We got to do a live performance at the end and invite our friends and family, which was terrifying and really exciting. All that hard work paid off! I def recommend taking this class if you're looking to learn stand up comedy. Also, I did this class as a relationship building tool with my partner. It was fun to do it together. I feel comfortable with possibly doing an open mic soon I will def being taking the next comedy class the studio offers with Charles. read more

I really had a great experience with this acting studio. Charles Tentindo, and Charles Sanchez are really great instructors. I've learned so much from these guys and had so much fun in the comedy and improv classes. I've been looking for a place like this for years, so I can get back into improv, but I didn't realize I would enjoy the experience as much as I did. Charles Sanchez taught me so much about comedy, and was patient enough to guide me in the right direction with my set. Not only a great teacher but a great person he is very kind, and thoughtful when it comes to his students. Definitely looking forward to taking another class with them, and I highly suggest anybody looking to get into acting, improv, and/or comedy to sign up. Thank you!! Greg read more

Lots of value packed into this class & what is offered. Charles starts with foundation and small building blocks, then works them into daily routine as well as techniques taught for years by many NYC/Hollywood/Burbank acting schools, legendary industry coaches & private studios. There's a side to the class that is self-discovery, becoming calm and aware, as well as creative realization, but it's not so much what he's teaching vs how he teaches it. Charles as a teacher is very patient. I knew I'd found someone special that would nurture my growth as an actor and creative individual. No clock-watching and he takes the time to get it right vs "getting it over with" or rushing you. The final 4 sessions focused on on-camera technique and Charles has some serious game with regards to equipment, technical/production skills as well as directing -- ensuring that you can and do make choices which will affect how the audience receives your performance... plus you get to stay off the cutting room floor. The class was also an *extremely* safe environment, and we all felt comfortable sharing there -- being completely vulnerable. If you're sure about signing up, do it. I did. and I'm a different man because of it. read more

This review is long overdue, and I admit that part of it is because I'm actually overwhelmed by all the good things I have to say about Charles and his studio-- I have to set aside some quiet time to write this out in a thoughtful way and try to not let it drag on. I found My Acting Studio (MAS) on Yelp. After putting my healthcare career on pause to stay at home for 14 months with my then 14 mo old daughter, my husband encouraged me to pursue other hobbies that'll be therapeutic for me and get me out of the house more; I remembered that I still had some interest in acting, which stemmed from having been in a few high school and middle school plays, and some random extra work when I was a teenager. MAS got great reviews, and it's close to home, so it was the perfect place for me to start, especially since I also didn't want to be too far from baby. So I signed up for my first foundations class in September 2018. He lets you audit the class for a fee to see if you like it, but I decided to just go all in, and I'm glad I did. First off, Charles was very responsive to me via email and text from the get-go, and he's proven to maintain that responsiveness and reliability all the time (sometimes I don't know how he makes downtime for himself)! On my first day of class, I text my husband right away, "omg this class is awesome! The instructor is very good!" Charles creates a very safe environment for you to be in so that you can be yourself without feeling judged or misjudged, and so that people with low self esteem like myself can feel like they can just open up, be silly, be angry, or be whatever emotion you want to be, and to just let it go without feeling embarrassed. One of his written house rules states: "Be cool. Be respectful to others, etc." and this sets such a healthy tone for the class. I have some delayed processing issues, which I never disclosed to Charles or anyone else, but because it's a safe space, I ended up not worrying about it too much. Charles is not only a great instructor who inspires you, positively encourages you, and gives you detailed constructive criticism, he also manages his business well--from the physical stage, lighting, sound, props and decor, to the cleanliness, getting your headshots done with quick turn around, and frequent email updates or text communications on what's going on at the studio--sometimes I truly wonder how he does it all! One time he even got hit with a bad cold and he somehow had the energy to keep going to teach the class and send us edited videos within 1 week! I will be forever grateful to Charles for his generosity and passion for each and every one of his students. If you have doubts, I encourage you to just do it--at the very least just try one class so you can see what I mean. Btw, I also ended up making a bunch of new friends/friendly connections through MAS which was more than I could've asked for. Thank God for Yelp! read more

Oh I love this place I took a Comedy class and an improv class with Charles Sanchez as my teacherTwice On my first run in the Comedy class I took he help me understand the fundamentals how to do stand up and work on my set In the beginning I thought Comedy was just Comedy but there's more to it and he taught me how to dig deeper how to set up my Premises assumptions and punchlines Charles Sanchez also recommended me to take an improv to combine them both together to make me a better comedian and because of that I've been Having a lot of fun acting out my sets on stage Charles Sanchez was born with the gift to teach and he influences a lot of students it makes them find themselves on stage I seen it with my own eyes when other students just blossom in front of everybody thank you so much Charles Sanchez and Charles T for opening the door And the ability to make people laugh because everybody needs laughter in their world it's a universal medicine keep up the great job guys read more

TRUTH!! I could not speak more highly of Charles Tentindo or Charles Sanchez. I should have written my review way before now, But I am going to give an honest reason why I am writing it at the moment. There was one review that somebody gave on the 28th of July 2022 that could not be any further from the truth. I happened to attend this show that this person was speaking of. This specific "comic" exceeded their time by over 15 minutes, spoke about all the illegal drug substances they frequently do, and this person was also extremely high on something while performing. Myself and multiple audience members were becoming very uncomfortable. One true thing that this person said was that Charles Sanchez tried to cut the set on them. Had he not done that, my husband and I would've walked out. There was not much laughter from the audience only discomfort when this person was on stage. I have had multiple friends take Charles Sanchez comedy class and there is not one person that I had anything but positive things to say about this coach. Charles Tentindo is someone I have looked up to and admired for years. Through his acting school people have graduated to television, voiceover work, and also became professional actors in the industry. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Charles Sanchez about a year and a half ago. He is funny, very honest, and has a spirit of gold. I have never chosen to write a bad review on yelp. Even if I had a horrible experience at something. The reason being is I know in life everyone has a bad day now and then. It may be a restaurant where the food was horrible, but the chef may have been having an off day etc. The one thing I do is when I've had a great experience that supersedes the norm is I will give a good rating. Hearing something that was written about this company and given less than five stars really makes me question the character, integrity, and honesty of the person that has written that review. May God bless all who are reading read more

If your looking for a school that offers various classes to see where your strengths are or to just have a great experience My Acting Studio is for you. I took the stand up class with Evan Cassidy a professional comic and teacher and at the end-we performed a 5 minute act written by me in front of an audience. It has been a dream of mine and my biggest fear. This class removed my fear. Next was a 12 week foundation acting class with Charles Tentindo the owner. He is a real talent and very supportive and kind. I now have a scene on film and am getting ready to get a head shot and do auditions. I highly recommend my acting studio. Charles really goes out of his way to make sure his students understands that this studio is a "safe place" to be who you are and whoever you want to be. I started with the foundations class and expanded into the scene study class. The foundations class gave me the confidence I needed in my everyday life and career. Scene study allowed me to understand more in depth who the character is and how to bring the character to life. I have always cringed watching myself on camera, but Charles encourages you to love yourself and appreciate the process of watching yourself grow. I have never met a coach like Charles before and the environment he creates at the studio is so welcoming. I've met so many other fellow actors here that are loving and encouraging, which is why I have told all my friends about My Acting Studio. This is the greatest investment I have treated myself to read more

I cannot say enough about Charles! As my 6 year old son is approaching his last half of his first private sessions, he has been able to grow in his speech, emotions, and overall understanding with what it takes to deliver a powerful dialogue. Charles truly takes his time with my son and never loses his patience. His creative exercises help my son focus and really get into what is expected of him. Charles has met and exceeded our expectations as an acting coach. So much so that he insisted that we meet with him prior to a very important agent meeting. During that time, he worked patiently with my son and gave him ideas on how to relax and what to expect. Well, thanks to his tips and coaching, my son was signed on the spot by one of the best agency in Hollywood! I as parent appreciate when a teacher truly invests their time and efforts into their students. I have a grandson who took a comedy class with Charles Sanchez. What an amazing experience. I also saw the comedy show where he highlighted the young people. It was so funny and refreshing to see tweens and teens expressing themselves and their world through their eyes. Although I don't see his name on the list of instructors, he was amazing. I wanted to take his improv class that was coming up in August. I was deeply encouraged by the comedians I saw and my teen grandson's experience. He personalizes his coaching and has brought out the best in people. His experience brings him a wealth of knowledge that lends to his credibility. He's been all over the world, has been on television, and once opened for War at the Greek Theater before hundreds of people. Knowing how a comic or performer feels when on stage is a big plus in this industry. He lifts people up and he remembers them when he has a gig to do. The best thing about Charles is his incredible heart. Having fun and expressing yourself are two of the biggest things in life. It's never too late. Well done Charles Sanchez. You are a blessing. Charles is not only a great acting teacher, he also became a great friend within a short period of time. His class has awakened a passion in me that lay dormant for many years, and his coaching has challenged me to push myself and become a better person in all aspects of my life. One example of his generous spirit is that after I had completed all three levels of his class, Charles encouraged me to look out at other classes in LA so that I could experience different settings and teaching styles. I am currently doing so, although I know that I will always go back to his class because I have so much more to learn from Charles- and he has provided such a safe and enriching environment for us to do so. Also, I went to Charles for my headshots and could not be more happy with the results. I've had comments from friends, family and industry folks about the amazingly high quality and dynamic feel of his photos. He has incredible knowledge of camera technology and techniques built up over many years, which he shares freely with anybody who asks.
