The class was very informative starting with type of welding, strength of the different techniques MiG, Tig and Stick. The difference between wire fed with gas vs stick and or flux core wire. As well as the different in machines and the settings for wire size, speed and amps/volts. Also went over welding flat, vertical and techniques. Bill the instructor is very knowledgeable, thorough and detailed and covered everything I wanted to know and more. Very satisfied with the class and would totally recommend to anyone interested in learning to weld.

    It's all about the reps

I came across the Mig welding class when I was trying to brush up on welding through YouTube. I get the concept and made two pieces of metal stick together before but it wasn't pretty and comes with a lot of grinding ..... I was really happy that I took the course course because having the instant feed back as little as trying different hand placement or down to scoring the area you are preparing to weld was great. The instructor to student ratio plus Bills life long experience and knowledge on welding and metal fab gave me the confidence and reps during the class. Thanks Bill and I'll see you again when I level up to MiG

I was looking online for a place I could learn how to weld in just a few hours of class time when I stumbled upon Gearhead Workshops. I applied for a MIG welding class and after taking I can say it was one of the best experiences I've had as a student. The teacher, Bill, was a fantastic guy with lots of motivation and enthusiasm. He did not have many students in the class(4), but was completely invested in the success of each and every one. He was always happy to help and always knew exactly what was wrong. The class was a unforgettable experience, and made me a decent welder in just a few hours.

I'm an automotive hobbyist who was looking to learn TIG welding. I really enjoyed and definitely improved my skills from the instruction. Bill has a large shop that will blow your mind with all the different tools, machines, and workstations. He is a great instructor and pays close attention to students and explains fundamentals and basics very well. I had a great experience, and I plan to return for multiple sessions. Here's a pic of my work. I'm still a beginner!

Had a great time at the MIG intro class. Very informative and lots of one on one instruction. It has been years since I've welded and this really helped to make me feel like I can weld again. Lots of practice during the class and actually had some nice beads! I'll be back for the TIG class

MIG welding class with Bill was great. My brother and I had no previous welding experience but by the end of the class felt very confident in not only ourselves but the process. Bill was very good at explaining each step of the process in a cohesive way so that we were always feeling in control. I've also signed up for the TIG class next week.

There was no clear leadership response or removal. Separately, I was invited by a member to an off‑site party connected to this community. After that event, I experienced sudden disorientation and memory loss inconsistent with my alcohol intake. I went to the hospital, was evaluated for head trauma (none found), and the attending physician concluded I was most likely drugged (e.g., roofied). What was most alarming was the response afterward. Rather than concern or accountability, multiple people connected to this group aggressively pushed a narrative that I "just got too drunk" or "hit my head," even after being informed of the medical evaluation stating otherwise. The takeaway was clear: when something serious happens, this community protects itself -- not women who are harmed. There is insufficient leadership, security, or safety protocol to protect members, especially femmes. If your personal safety matters to you at all, I would strongly recommend steering clear.

*For the VA program*…read more The class size was good. Not too many students, but just enough for group work and exercises. I think a big problem though would be having a small computer lab shared between the multiple programs. It was too small of a room and you could never tell what program was using the room until you actually stepped inside. As for the staff, they were helpful in guiding me through externship. I would've definitely missed a due date or forget to fill out a form without their help.

I'm writing this to make it clear the negative reviews about this program are not lies. I…read moreexperienced the same issues. During COVID-19 I was in the, veterinary assistant program, I was told there would still be hands-on lab training, just modified. That did not happen. Lab exposure was extremely limited, and the instruction was inconsistent. The second instructor was frequently late, absent, and unprepared. I documented in my graduate survey that she was inadequate for lab instruction which is a serious issue for a hands-on program and no one ever followed up. Most of the "teaching" consisted of reading directly from a textbook, with little to no practical application. It felt like self-teaching rather than an actual program. Cost vs. Value Total cost: $17,506 Out-of-pocket: about $6,130 I was charged $515 for e-books that barely worked and had to go back to campus for physical books. The laptop provided also did not function properly during class. For that price, the education should reflect, it did not. Reality Check I'm currently continuing my education toward my RVT license through a program that costs around $8,000 and is far more structured. This program does not even lead to a license, yet costs more than double. Externship By the time I reached externship, I was not prepared at all. My first site wouldn't even let me participate, and I lost a month. I had to transfer. I didn't actually learn basic skills until my second externship which should have been taught in the program. Concerns I raised multiple concerns directly with Lourdes Valencia over the phone and was told, "you signed up for this." During one call, she forgot to hang up, and I overheard her and another staff member speaking negatively about me. This was extremely unprofessional and discouraging, especially after I had just expressed my concerns. I documented this experience in my graduate survey, yet there was no follow-up. It is very concerning that such feedback was submitted and seemingly ignored. Now that I'm continuing my education, it's clear how inadequate the training was, and it raises serious concerns about whether students are being taken advantage of. Pattern Matters Yes, some reviews are positive, but many negative reviews share the same exact issues. Students (including myself) have documentation of what we paid. At some point, when multiple people are saying the same thing including former staff it cannot just be dismissed. Final Thought My 4.0 GPA was from my own effort, not the program. I did not sign up for an inadequate education. I signed up for what was promised during admissions, and that is not what I received. I am currently in communication with the school and hoping for resolution. Until then: Do not spend your money here if you expect real training and support.
