Well she put the window back up she assisted me it took all of 20 minutes to get it taken care of, and she was off to lunch, I don't think she appreciated the fact that I stopped her from going to her lunch but I did apologize after all there was a lot of us there and I'm sure a lot of us were hungry and ready to go to lunch as well. The food was actually really fresh and very good. There is a little coffee shop just inside the lobby area too. Security is not a big problem, even when I came on a busy day with over 500 jurors coming through, I got through very quickly with no issues. I even had my dolly loaded with lots of boxes for a lengthy trial and it wasn't too bad getting through security. Just a heads up, they do not let you bring through any liquids or food, but if you get a note from the bailiff in your division, it's not a problem.

We visited this fire station as part of a tour for our mom's group. The guys who did our tour were…read morevery nice and easy to talk to. They showed us their different trucks and equipment. They included their gym, training room, and kitchen as part of the tour. At the end, one of them put on his uniform to show the kids that he's the same guy in and out of his suit. I think this is good in showing little kids (2-4 year olds) that although the suit can be scary, they are good guys and to go to them in case of a fire. The tour was about an hour long, which is pretty good. All around the station there were things to see, such as some guys learning how to use the hoses and fire hydrant stuff, and others were going into a smoking building. In all, this is a neat station to tour. They provide a lot of information in regard to how a fire fighter does his job, whether they are on a call or spending time at the station.

Security is provided by both the Federal Protective Service (FPS, a federal law enforcement agency) and a private contractor, DECO. All the security folks I've encountered have been polite and helpful, but your mileage may vary. Don't try to scale the fence.

Had a surprisingly expeditious experience here…read more Going to the DMV is never fun and with the new Real ID requirements, we're going to find ourselves there more often. Tip: Make an appointment at least 2 months before your Drivers License expires! You will need to do your renewal in person to get a new photo (required for the new "Real ID"). Tip: Park on the West side of the Department of Revenue Building. That is where the DMV entrance is. I walked in just before my appointment time, gave the person at the check in counter my name, got a number and walked into the DMV to wait. There were only a handful of people waiting and plenty of seating. The building is pretty run down and if you are concerned about cleanliness, you may want to stand or BYO wipes for the plastic chairs. To my surprise, as soon as I walked in, my number was called along with the kiosk to report to. That was great. I didn't even have time to sit down. When you make your appointment online, there is a form with all kinds of information they want you to bring with you to confirm your identity and address (like a paystub, utility bill, etc.). It turns out, they don't actually need any of that if your DL hasn't expired yet and your address has not changed. They confirmed my information and sent me to get my photo taken. I only had to wait for one person ahead of me to get their photo taken. DMV photos are never flattering, but at least I got through it quickly. Unfortunately, at that point, they punch a hole in your ID and hand it back to you with a piece of paper saying your ID is not valid without the paper and that your new ID won't be mailed to you for ~30 days. I do not understand why they cannot print them onsite. So, this will be a PITA for the next month while I wait. However, within a couple of hours, my digital ID on the MyColorado App updated with the new expiration date. So, at least I can use that here in CO.
