This happened to us as well in May 2016. We were really excited to get a puppy from him as well. We knew several people who had purchased from him, we saw the dogs, online research was good. Our Vet knew him, our dog trainer knew him too. Evidently 2016 is when things went downhill for him, supposedly getting a divorce, moved around a lot. He was evasive about coming to the farm to look and meet the dam and sire. We finally met him and the puppy. All seemed good. He never sent the paperwork or vaccination records, never returned phone calls, emails etc. Even our Vet office called to get them. Our male needed knee surgery before 6 months of age and had severe skin allergies. Saw specialists, shots drugs special shampoos supplements and never any relief for him. Last year his hips and legs went bad and we had to put him down November 2025. Never purchase dog from this breeder. read more

I purchased a German shepherd in 2016. He was a beautiful, very large (130lbs) and awesome best friend that protected my family for 10yrs, BUT! After the first year he was diagnosed with severe skin allergies. In his 9.5yr he was diagnosed with Cushing's disease. Today we have to take him in to be put down. He was a great dog and I wouldn't trade my 10yrs with him for any amount of money. But this skin condition on top of the Cushing's disease has put my best friend and family thru hell!!!!!! Shane talked a big game when I was in the purchasing phase. Completely changed after I received my German Shepherd (Radar). Calls went unanswered etc... his excuse at the time was an injury etc. basically what I came to the conclusion was I was dealing with was a recently divorced pill addicted. WARNING! SCAM ARTIST UNETHICAL!! We bought two beautiful German Shepherd puppies from Shane. They both came home with severe Giardiasis and cocciidia parasitic infections even though he promised he treats them all and almost never has a problem. One of the Shepherds was horribly sick needing a two day stay in vet. Hospital. We finally got that cleared up and Shane offered to watch the pups while we went away for a long weekend. They again came home with horrible diarrhea from the same parasites. My male shepherd almost died and we literally spent thousands of dollars on vet bills, hospital and meds. Of course Shane took no responsibility and never offered to help pay. Shane then referred us to his "best" dog trainer who we had to pay $3000.00 up front for. She brought the pups back for us to visit after one week and they were obviously abused, she told us she actually hates puppies and prefers training older dogs as our pup had accidents in her house!! We were horrified and immediately took our dog back and fired her. I told her reluctantly we would pay her for the one week but wanted the rest of the money refunded and she told me she doesn't ever give refunds. When I immediately called Shane he apologized but never offered to help get my money back or pay me something for this horrible referral. Shane had become friendly with my family and had really conned us and had a great excuse for all of the previous issues! He then began telling me that he went through a bad divorce and the place he was renting for he and his kids and all his dog breeding was being sold. He needed a "short term loan" to give a down payment and he even had a contract signed by both of us that he would pay me back in 3-6 months or interest would accrue rapidly. He then came to me with an investment opportunity where I would pay for a $12,000.00 champion male German shepherd from Germany for breeding and I would get a 20% return! Again a legal contract signed. Over the course of the next six months I never received a single penny from him! He stopped answering all my calls and texts. When I threatened legal action he answered me and said he was completely bankrupt and in huge debt but "had a plan" I contacted him multiple times for the next year and again never received a penny!!! The worst part of this is that our shepherd began attacking our other dog totally unprovoked and then attacked the other female shepherd who was his sister while she was sleeping on the floor! Our vet said that this behavior is common in Shepherds that have been overbred and too much inbreeding. We got another veterinarian opinion who agreed and said this dog needs to be put down! We could not in good conscience give him to anyone when he could have this extreme aggression at anytime. I truly loved this dog and I still cry thinking about having him put down! I don't want anyone else to use Shane and be taken advantage of and given bad dogs!! He has had multiple different jobs and careers but obviously has a problem as he never seems to hold a job! *** WARNING FOR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS *** *** Shane still owes us money *** I wish my husband and I could write an awesome review as we were so excited to get a puppy from Shane and participate in kennel activities, but our experience is very far from it. This is a warning for new potential customers so you don't fall into a "trap" of lies, empty word and charm as we did especially since he still owes us money. When we began to look for our German Shepherd we did our research and all looked well -- reviews are great, social media following was positive and strong, many of his clients speak highly of Shane - we saw no red flags. In the fall 2017 we have contacted Shane regarding a long coat female puppy, he was great at providing information and going above and said that he will arrange a visit with a female/dam that was going to be breed as we wanted to see the parents in person and get familiar. We never heard from him. On the beginning of the year 2018 we contacted him again regarding advice and learned that the part owner of the female was supposed to reach out to us and never did. Which we thought that miscommunication can happen -- all is good. We had no idea that his words are just empty word and lies. Shane shared the options we had which were slim (only one coming litter with potential long hair) and the same female was still going to be breeded soon. He mentioned multiple times that she is 2x time top female in US and all kinds of other accomplishments on her resume. We were going to meet in person so we can meet the parents and Shane canceled on multiple occasions. Breeding was about to happen so we have put down $500 deposit and send contract and all was fine. When we wanted to meet then -- suddenly Shane had excuses how busy he is and that he has no time. Then when we started to prepare our puppy's files (the cost is $2,500 $3,500) -- Pedigree history , etc., and started to search all the achievements that Shane said that the parents have -- non of it was documented online. Once we started to ask about it -- his fist response was that in 9 years he has never had anyone asking about it and in condescending tone deviating from simple specific answer. Then he just stopped responding completely. He did not let us know if pregnancy was confirmed. He did not let us know if puppies were born. He did not let us know if there is a long hair female in the litter. He did communicate with us at all. About a week before our estimated time of picking up the puppy and bringing it home - I have contacted Shane 3x times and no response. I will mention again -- he has our $500 deposit. My husband contacted him 2x times and the second time he finally responded when we mentioned that we want our money back. First he said that there was no long coat in the litter. Then he said that the female did not get pregnant. Again - no straight story. Shane said and we have it in writing that he will return our deposit since he has no dog for us. He tried to offer us 13 weeks old female that he imported from friend from Portugal for $3,500 and we had to pick her up within 24 hours. We declined and agreed to deposit return. Almost 2 weeks go by and we hear nothing. We reach out to him and he had several excuses why he did not send the deposit back -- that he has no money, that we have no idea what the kennel is costing him , etc. He ended that we should have money coming weekend as people are coming to pick up their puppies and pay him. That he will send a check on Monday. Again - no check arrived and now he is ignoring our communication. My husband and I are big fans of privately owned business and we love to support individuals but only those who carry integrity and do not steal money from people. I would not wish our experience to anyone and would not recommend this breeded at all. Stay away from him. read more

I would have gave him no stars if I could have. I have a two year old German from him and a 1 yr old German. Can not get the papers. Keeps lying to me will not return messages. Paid another for these dogs and I don't think I will ever get my papers. read more

Still don't have papers on a pup we paid $2200 for in July 2016. Never heard more excuses from anyone. Always someone else's fault. Very evasive and master of putting you off. Many people in the KC German Shepard community are aware of how Shane Meusche operates. Buyer beware. read more
