i usually go to Petsmart for grooming but I decided to try someone smaller and local this time around and possibly pick a future groomer for both of my dogs going forward. I made a prior appointment and got in the next day. Upon going arriving I was asked the usual questions, kind of service needed, dogs name and my phone number. I provided all of this and then I was asked for an emergency contact number. Yes, this is standard in health care but i have never been asked that at any groomers or vet and I have been using both for over 30 years. I explained that I do not have an emergency contact number as both of my parents just died, my wife divorced me and I have nobody thst I would trust with my pets. I tried to explain that I do not have an emergency contact and instead of overlooking this, she made it into a big confrontational issue, telling me shes been doing this for 20 years and never had a problem and asked me why I didn't have any friends or family. This was very humiliating and embarrassing as I could not provide the answer to her question..an alternate number. I get why they may need it for emergency purposes but each persons situation is different and they shouldn't feel humiliated at the pet spa over a stupid alternate number. This person was very rude to me and unprofessional in my opinion and I will never go back there again. I went down the street to a new groomer who was much cheaper, much more friendly and didn't as me for another number or humiliate me. $65 ar this place - $45 at other local places on the square. I have been lax in leaving a review my mistake and I apologize to the owner. I found this place because her previous groomer had moved. I got lucky they do an outstanding job on grooming. They're extremely courteous. They call them plenty of time to pick my furry Furball up. they love going there once we pull up immediately they stop shaking. I do have to apologize to the owner because I do make appointments for one of our dogs which my wife has we make an appointment for her and then I have to be the bad guy and tell her my wife said she didn't need it this time and for that I apologize to her the other dog needed grooming more often but my wife is extremely happy With the service as long as she'll keep us, will keep going there. Again, I'm sorry for the late review but anybody who reads this I highly recommend this place the place is clean. You can tell when I come in first thing that is being cleaned immaculately tonight before ready for a new day and next day and she always sends us pictures. Jesse read more

I've been coming here since last October & I won't be returning. On my dogs first appointment, they cut her badly and didn't tell me. When I brought it to their attention, they were really nice and gave me the works free for my next appointment, so I gave them another chance. My dogs have had several appointments since then & everything turned out great....but recently on their latest appointment, one of my dogs neck was cut. No one told me about it again. I had to find out on my own....again. I understand accidents happen. I just wish they would have told me both times. read more

Terrifically amazed. I have taken our West Highland White Terrier a.k.a Westie to multiple groomers including the ones in the big box pet stores and have never had service quite nearly as good, pleasant or understanding and let me add terrific at grooming. The first time I came here I found this place by accident, I had no clue it even existed I just happened to be driving by and drove around the block to get the phone number I called and was able to quickly make an appointment and she asked the questions I would expect a good groomer to ask We arrived the day of and she pleasantly greeted us and introduced herself and went through the services we had talked about to verify it was correct and let me know what time she would be available for pickup She called a few hours later to let me know she was ready and when I arrived our purebred Westie looked AMAZING! She asked if we wanted to schedule a follow up appointment and we'll after the amazing work she did it is a no brainer. If you are tired of the sloppy job your pet groomer dies don't think twice go here I promise you will be overjoyed....One of the biggest surprises is that she is not overpriced read more

Took our two big fur babies in this morning for their very first grooming appointment. We have a 6 year old Boxer and a 2 year old collie mix, both over 50lbs. We had a great experience! They were so friendly and welcoming and did a FANTASTIC job with both of our girls. The prices are great, we got "The Works" on both, which includes everything they have to offer, and only paid $75! It only took maybe 2 hours and they called us as soon as they were done, but did not rush us to get back to pick them up. We will definately be using them again! They did an okay job grooming my Maltese but for some reason they left his ears and face very long and basically shaved his body (maybe I could've been more vocal about what I wanted). Regardless, I am fairly certain my dog got fleas while there, and they don't ask for immunization records or anything which can be a red flag in my mind. read more

I dropped my yorkie off for a grooming before heading off to work. My daughter picked him up and called me to say he didn't look any different. I was very upset when I arrived home to see I paid 50.00 and he didn't look like other than a bath that he had been groomed at all. I sure won't be referring them to my family/friends or returning for any future service. read more

I am extremely pleased with Xcel Pet spa! I have an older dog (Lab) with bad hips and a four-month-old husky puppy. We have had very bad experiences in the past so I was understandably hesitant dropping them off for their appointment today. However, the staff was friendly and understanding both on the phone when booking and at drop off. I explained to them how my lab has bad hips and to please be gentle and work with her as she will be skittish. This was also the puppy's first time at the groomer. When I came to pick up my dogs they were happy as can be and I did not notice any signs of harm or anxiety from my pets. We opted for the bath with full works (nails, teeth, etc.) for both dogs as well as flea treatment. They smell beautiful, have painted nails, and beautiful bows. I paid about $120 total. To me, this is a very reasonable price. To some, it might be much but my dogs' happiness and well-being is worth it. Overall I am very pleased with the spa! We will be back for future appointments and will be trying their boarding services. read more
