An injury my dog sustained from being boarded at Long Veterinary Clinic, that they lied/didn't inform us about.
    Dustin A.

I left my dog with them for a week-long vacation and asked them to contact us if anything was wrong. Of the two times myself to check up on my dog, they had nothing elaborate to report. Just "she's doing great". I would have to press more to get more info out of them, but the basic idea was that my dog was adjusting well, and I would again ask them to let me know if anything happens at all. I go to pick my dog up, to which they said they had just given her a bath, and on the drive home I notice she had a mark on the top of her nose. I figured she probably just tried to press up between the kennel bars to find a way out. Once home, I notice little tiny drops of blood trailing her on my couch, I looked her over and saw the bottom of her paws here torn up. After looking her over more carefully, I'm seeing a number of injuries, including a huge gash on one of her legs that looked green and disgusting. We called and they confirmed they knew about the nose injury, but didn't think to tell us and apologized. What prompted me to start writing reviews like this one was because this morning when I woke up, I realized that the green disgustingness of her leg must've been a scab, because it was completely red, bloody, and without any patch of fur. While I'm guessing that for the most part, my dog injured herself due to being scared of the kennel, or not being able to be near us or see us - this sort of injury has never happened to her before, and no one called to tell us about it. After two updates of "she's doing great, she's adjusting well," it's clear to me that they didn't actually know anything about what was going on with her. On top of this, we paid extra money for them to spend one-on-one time with her, so she wouldn't feel so distressed and lonely all the time. The fact that these injuries were not noticed in the least bit, and were not reported to us even when we called to check up on her, tells me they didn't spend any one-on-one time with her hardly at all. It's supposed to be a veterinary clinic and they don't notice injuries like this? I don't expect to fork over a couple hundred dollars and have to nurse my injured dog as a result of boarding her at this place. I also don't expect to be lied to when I call to check up on my dog and be told she's doing great when I can tell from these injuries that she didn't do great, and she didn't adjust well. My 1-star review is based on this clinic's apparent negligence to look over the animals that are boarded in their care and make sure they're staying healthy and injury free, and the fact that they lied to us.

I was satisfied with this Vet for a few years because we usually see a regular Vet for my animals…read more This was until they just changed Vets without our knowledge. My dog fell off the bed and wasn't walking on his hind legs is why we rushed him to Green Summit. Instead of putting my dog on a stretcher they made my husband walk him into their facility. He was wobbly and fell twice on the hard floor before my husband picked him up and they put them in a room. When we called we informed them of our dogs condition and he couldn't put any pressure on his hind legs. He should have been put on a stretcher from the car to get seen. So the new vet came in (a Man with tats on his head) and they misdiagnosed him with an ACL injury and sent us home with steroids and pain pills. No Xray or tests were done. By that night our dog was completely paralyzed from the chest down. We took him to another vet and they said he definitely had a spinal cord injury. which should have been correctly diagnosed from the beginning. After a week of my doggy paralyzed he was no longer urinating, we called around town to see if we could get him in to release his bladder, and Green Summit was the ONLY one who could get him in. So again we took our dog to this vet. The same vet came in but this time not as a man, but as a woman in a wig and a stuffed bra on. He gave us the most vague answers on what we needed to do, so he referred us to an emergency vet. A $400 bill for them to recommend him to a different vet. We got to the emergency vet and after an hour they came in with horrible news, Diesel couldn't be fixed and was living in pain...we had to put my 6 year old guy to sleep. WHY DID YOU HAVE MY DOG EVEN ATTEMPT TO WALK INTO YOUR FACILITY??? We told you over the phone he had no movement in his back legs. I know he was probably wasn't able to be fixed, but with the right diagnosis maybe he wouldn't have suffered for a whole week

Over a month, we were making daily trips to Green Summit, then every other day, then a weekly visit while we waited for one of her puncture marks to close. Every vet that helped us was so thorough and so kind. Our dog also has Cushing's (which was diagnosed by Dr. Sbisa in 2020) and we wouldn't even consider going someplace else because they know her well and treat her well! I'm so tremendously thankful for Dr. Sirna, Dr, Sbisa, and Dr. Schaeffer- they all had a hand in helping my Winnie get better!
