Overall I personally would not wait more than 40 mins for this ride, because on days where the park is empty, you could get on in under 20. Something I would recommend is if there's only 2-3 people in your party and the line is super long, just go to the single rider line (on the left side when you enter the ride line) - who cares if you don't get to sit RIGHT next to your friend haha, don't wait an hour plus for this ride. The best thing about this ride is that it's a LONG one - I think it's like almost 3 minutes so it's worth your time, and it's a pretty fun floorless roller coaster that has a lot of twists, turns, and upside down moments. Very snake-like fitting for its name. Super smooth, NOT rough like Kong (the worst ride at this park LOL). Definitely this ranks as top 2 roller coasters in this park for me (the first one being Joker). The only con is it does occasionally have technical difficulties, but they usually get it up and running again in 10-15 minutes. Also has a dippin' dots close by haha.

It seems like launch coasters are the "it" thing at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, as this park…read moreboasts of not 1 but TWO launch coasters. Superman is the other one and I personally think that one is better than The Flash, but that does not mean The Flash has no presence in Discovery Kingdom here. The coaster itself looks pretty small as there isn't a lot of track, but that's mainly because it's a launch coaster that goes back and forth. It reminded me a lot like the now defunct Deja Vu in some ways. Outside the loading dock, there are two ways you can go -- one in an ultra-twisted inline curve, and the other that goes straight up 90 degrees. So you're kinda all over the place for this ride, but you're definitely in for a treat. With maximum speeds of 60 mph and going as high as 150 ft, the ride may seem like it's not much but there's truly a lot to offer. There's a lot of surprises while riding this out, so make sure to check this ride out when you're at the park !

The launch is great and I like the custom slanted twisted spike so everyone gets to go upside down which Six Flags Great America's did not have. I like Steel Venom at Valleyfair more because it has the holding brakes on the vertical back-spike. So this ride I would recommend for kids under the age of 17 would enjoy. But people over the age of 39 probably wouldn't enjoy it because there are some rough patches.

I went to my first open practice at Dixon this past Saturday. They are now open to bikes every…read moreweekend. We ran 30 min sessions (half bike, half kart), and the 30 min sessions were further divided into an experienced and a novice group. The whole experience was really well run. I met Gary, who was organizing things and he did a super job keeping things going smoothly and adapting the time slots as more riders arrived. The track is in SUPERB condition, the surface is excellent and really grippy. If you ride motos, it will give you a lot more confidence to push your bike. The track itself is very tight and technical, tons of fun and you really have to work the whole time. Its a lot tighter than Stockton little 99. I only wish this place offered memberships! Highly recommended.

Would be better if there was a low bar to prevent people from going over but it's not terrible, and probably could use a trashcan there. I live and run out in central Texas(Austin). A friend of mine is an ultramarathoner out here, and…read moreasked me to sign up for the Cinderella with him. He signed on for the 50, and while I felt ready to do the 30, I opted instead for the half. (This was partly due to the massive V shape right at around mile 8 that I wasn't quite sure how to feel about-more on that later.) I was warned I should do some altitude training...but, c'mon...the race is called "Cinderella". How bad could it be? So, first off-running in texas gets you prepared for heat. Some people said it was warm-I didn't feel that way at all. There was a tremendous and beautiful shade canopy pretty much the whole way through, and I got very little direct sunlight. I was continually warned about the french trail, and while out on it I didn't really think anything of it. It seemed pretty straightforward to me, minus a pretty steep descent and climb at around mile 5. At first, I thought this was the massive gap I saw on the map until I checked mileage. I don't remember any of the whole french trail being rough. It was beautiful, and I was keeping pace with a far better runner than me(who admittedly was pacing himself for more than twice as long of a run)...Then came the drop...Oh lord. That chasm gives me nightmares. It's like the way you feel at the top of a rollercoaster, except unless you're completely suicidal and/or hate your calves, it takes time to go down it, so you're constantly looking down at this giant drop. Most of my footfalls were horizontal for the entire drop. And finally, after winding down for so long I got to the bottom and the fantastic aid station was there. These aid stations are great. I'm used to an aid station translating to "here's some water or gatorade". The ones at this event had nutritious and recharging snacks and better electrolyte drinks than gatorade...great stuff. I almost didn't want to leave-because I remember what was on that map...the upwards portion of that gorge. Like many people, I pretty much never picked up my pace during that whole upwards climb. And there were a few points where my legs just stopped moving for a moment before having to spur myself onwards. Usually these moments occurred when I reached the top, only to discover that it was "a" top. SO MANY FALSE SUMMITS! It's quite a defeating moment. Fortunately, after that part it was all relatively straight forward with a gradually descending slope. The next aid station came quickly, and the end of the trail was just a short two miles from there. By the end of it, I felt ready to keep going-but I would have needed an elevator or two at mile 8. Also, the ending had beer. And food. Remember those aid stations? The end had way better than the already great aid stations. So, I've only done one half marathon before. It was my first ever road race, and I had only done trails before. I wasn't well prepared, and tore my plantar fascia at around mile 9 of it, but hobbled on to the finish anyway. Now I'm much wiser and a *much* better runner. My time on this was 25 minutes *slower* than that injury-laden crawl. Do not expect to PR on this trail. My calves were visibly bruised from the descents, but this was a great race-and my first trail run in the bay area. I'm already itching for my next one with Coastail Trail Runs in the next couple weeks. The elevation map looks slightly saner on that one too.

Completed my 1st trail run today doing the Cinderella...what a nice day it was. Not too hot not too…read morecold. The trails could have been marked a little better. I think me and my friend got off track and did an extra mile and a half! There were a few inclines that were a bit more difficult than expected but it was worth it. I think i would enjoy a hike at this park rather than race. With runners on skinny trails it was a bit scary at times. A few were rather aggressive even though we tended to stop and/or just give them the ride of way. Big drops and blackberry bushes made us very aware of runners either coming or going. Lovely scenery, ran across a banana slug, many birds, ferns and explorers with dogs. My daughter who has not done any physical activity while off college this summer left me and my friend in her dust. We all said we would do this run again. It was more affordable then other runs and provided a nice change to our flat runs.

A beautiful area with views, hikes, and history! We saw dolphins in the water, river otter in the…read morelagoon, and plenty of heron and other birds on the shore. You can hike up to the old lighthouse or World War I battery, around the lagoon, and any number of trails. Just watch out for poison oak! With a beautiful array of succulents, trees, and flowers, there is so much to see and experience. The sunsets over the water are beautiful, we had a great time.

I have personal ties to this place: My mom grew up here as her father was in the army and was…read morestationed there for years. I know it's history, little secret ins and outs, and got to stay a few nights as a kid on a field trip. We've been coming here for years hanging out on the beach and collecting muscles off the big rock. I love that the beach is made of little pebbles. I recently discovered how awesome thier trails and hiking is. You can see in my pics below that you can hike along the cliffs and coast with amazing views and some really cool features. I was too tired to hike up to the old army bunkers, but that's a goal of mine that will be achieved sometime soon. I look forward to more hiking and wonderful beach time.

Best fun I've had in a while!!! I went here for a work training on a Saturday. Good thing the…read moreweather was perfect!!! During the 90 minutes my rotation had for this course, I ended up doing 4 of the 6 available challenges: 1. Tight Rope: I basically climbed up a bunch of staples and walked across a rope that was 30 ft in the air. It was nerve wracking, but it helped to know I was secure and wasn't going to fall into anything. Tricky, but a pretty fun way to start off since you can hold onto a series of several ropes that are hanging above you along the way. 2. ZIPLINE: I think this is scary when you climb up to the platform, but after that this is by far the most relaxed and enjoyable experience. Once you push off, everything is secure, and all you can really do is savor the few moments in your life that you will spend feeling like a bird! Beautiful, beautiful view along the way :) 3. The Broken Bridge: This is a bunch of planks. You can hang on to the rope that secures you, but the point is kind of to not hold onto anything and to try and walk across this unsteady bridge stretched up about 15 ft above the ground. It was pretty fun, and I felt a lot better once I started taking a few steps on it to get used to the feeling. 4. Leap of Faith: This is the scariest, gutsiest part of the course, I think. You basically climb up a 30 ft pole, stand on the very end of it, and then jump off to try and catch a trapeze. I was really nervous about this one and it was the last one I did, but obviously, I lived to tell the tale, and I don't regret trying it out one bit. Ten-out-of-ten, would do it againnnn. The two I didn't do: 5. The Catwalk: You basically climb up and walk across a log without holding on to anything. Yes, you are still secured to a rope, haha. BUt the point is to balance and stretch your boundaries by walking across, doing jumping jacks, walking backwards--whatever you want. I didn't do this one, but a lot of my coworkers chose to walk backwards on it once they made it across the first time. 6. The Swings: This is literally a set of wooden plank swings attached to a log that you have to get across. It seemed physically intense. I didn't do this one, but a lot of people had fun with it and made it across either sitting on the planks or standing on them. As someone who is usually afraid of heights, I thought I was definitely NOT looking forward to this. The breakthrough that you reach while you go on this course, though, is its whole point. Lupe and Trinity, two of the main people running the course, are super friendly, and all of the staff are great about making you feel safe, encouraged, and welcome. Overall, the course was fantastic for helping my work team up its enthusiasm and unity during our mid-year slump, and it was nice that I ended up surprising myself (what?) with how I was able to settle my nerves and jump off of 30-foot high things with abandon....

I came here with my work for team building. This was a great opportunity for you and your…read morecolleagues to get to know each other outside of the work place and bond as a team. When obstacles get tough, your team cheers you on. This was a lot of fun and a challenge for all levels of fitness. There were ground challenges that used your brain and climbing challenges that used your body. This was a great experience. Instructors Willow, Melissa, Jasper and another gentleman (I cant remember his name) instructed us well. There were no mishaps and kept us safe along the way.
