Veronica very kindly, thoroughly, and professionally scheduled a facial and lymphatic drainage massage for my birthday weekend. Her genuine gentle demeanor let me know I was in for a pleasant experience. Veronica took the time to care about my individual needs. I'm very sensitive and TBH veronica is the only person who has respected my preference for a gentle touch. When I arrived I was welcomed with a warm smile into a clean facility. I was completely educated on the line of facial products. Again my needs were checked in with. Most importantly Veronica's vibe made me feel at ease, something I rarely have the luxury of feeling. I left feeling in a space of tranquility. I was staying at the hotel and came back another day for my first ever lymphatic massage & hot oil scalp treatment. My husband booked a 90 minute couple's massage for us this past Friday, 5/20/22. We wanted to celebrate our anniversary by getting our very first massage. We were excited and expecting to be very relaxed the whole time, but I was not. I was in so much pain and was still in pain the following 2 days after. I had such a horrible experience. The ladies who helped us were very nice, but they used way too much pressure. My husband was able to fall asleep a few times, but I was wide awake the entire time. My husband's masseuse told us to let them know at any time if we need them to use more or less pressure. I said my masseuse's name and tried to tell her how much pain I was in from the pressure she was putting on my back, but she cut me off and told me I'm so stiff and compressed. She needed to roll them out. I told her OK. If it's needed then I guess continue to roll them out. I had no idea that she would apply so much pressure the entire time. When I rolled over on my back, I thought I would be fine. I even told her that I felt a difference in my back, so I thought I'd be OK. I was groaning, heavily breathing, even tensed up my body which made the pain worse, but as she still continued on my back and glutes. I don't know if she was trying to transform my whole body within this 90 minute session, but I honestly wanted to cry the whole time she was working on the back of my body. The only time I was relaxed was when she stopped. I kept my patience and kept thinking since it's my first time that maybe it's supposed to feel like this and to just stick it out. I regret that the most and just wish I had told her to stop so much sooner. I also had a restless night's sleep because my back was burning so much. I felt as if I had carpet burn all over my back and neck. I was in pain just trying to put myself in a comfortable laying position. I had light bruising and some scratches on my neck down to my back. I wish I had remembered to take a photo of what it looked like the next morning. I took Ibuprofen for the pain. I think it was the only thing that helped me get out of bed that morning. After the massage was over, my masseuse told us that they will be leaving the room. She did not tell us to get dressed, so we laid there thinking they would come back to use the steamed towels to wipe down the rest of the oil on our legs, arms, neck, and back. Next thing we knew, someone knocked on the door to ask if we were OK and let us know that they have water waiting for us at the front desk. We immediately jumped up and started to wipe down what we could on our bodies with the towels they had over our eyes. We got dressed and walked out. We left cash tips. The ambiance, location, and customer service is really good, but my massagw experience was the worst. I don't think I will return or recommend this place to anyone. I might go somewhere else just to see if I have the same experience. read more
