After being a loyal customer for five years, I was charged a $50 "equipment refurbishment" fee--even though I provided my own equipment when I signed up. Charging customers to refurbish equipment they supplied themselves feels completely unreasonable. The cancellation process was even worse. It took me five days and more than seven hours on the phone just to cancel my service. During my final call, I waited on hold for over an hour before finally reaching a representative. When he asked to place me on hold again, I explained that I was driving on the highway and could not remain on hold. Despite that, he put me on hold anyway, forcing me to hang up and start the entire process over again. Loyal customers deserve better treatment. Between the excessive wait times, poor customer service, and unfair fee, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. I cannot recommend Rise Broadband based on how they handle customers when it's time to cancel.

Problems like hidden fees are not hidden at all as it is clearly mentioned in their agreement about the payment processing @ $3 per payment monthly. Which can be simply avoided if checks are mail directly or sent digitally from your bank. By the way most bank offer free digital checking at no cost and is a great way to save on processing fees at most places that have recurring payment. The service with this company is horrid. They tell you they will do something, and then they do…read morenot do as promised. Worse yet is the number of times their story changes. I would ALWAYS write down information from this company because you WILL need it. I also really get upset when the company acts like it was something special or beyond normal expectations when they FINALLY take care of you. I hate being told one thing and then it does not happen or when I need to call, call, call to fix issues. HORRID company. As a sidebar...their bill states that they have a State Cost Recovery Fee on the bill. If you look down the bill in the description area the company's notes it says: Recovery Fee - The State Cost-Recovery Fee is not a tax Charter is required to collect from its customers by law, but is a charge that is made in order to recoup money paid by the company for taxes imposed on it. I think a company which makes as much money as they do should be able to pay its own taxes.

They had a few problems at startup, which is understandable with a new system, but I stuck with them and glad I did. My Tech support guy is Germaine. This guy is a class act. I can text him at just about anytime and he will respond and check out the system if I ever experience any problem. Very courteous and genuinely seems to enjoy what he does and believes in the company he is working for. That goes a long ways with me. I was with another ISP, I won't say their name but the initials are RBB. The difference is like night and day. Not only in the support and service but the quality of the internet service and speed. We can have two or three TV's streaming shows and someone playing online games at the same time and hardly notice any slow downs. Try them out. I honestly don't think you will find a better ISP in our area. Even if you are getting DSL, you might check them out. I am that pleased with them so far. Thank you Forefront Wireless, for bringing true highspeed internet to areas where it wasn't a real option for many years now. I have been using this colocation company for 18 years that sold out to vergent, and within 1 month…read morethey charge $240 for power to a 2U server, that was originally quoted for $85 a month for 2U server colocation, and there was no notification that was being done, or even documentation to sign to indicated that it would be going from $85 for 2U colocation space to $352 for 2U colocation space. I'll never do business with them. I tried to call and investigate what caused the increased and never received a call back or even an email of the increase. BAD, BAD customer service.

This internet provider used to be too good to be true. As of last night when the service went down…read moreand NO one was monitoring the system and no one created a recording to let customers know what was going on (like they used to) I'm changing my mind about this company. Sadly, it seems to have gone way so many companies do...down! System is back up 12 hours later. I called the local Wills Point, TX phone number to find out what had happened and ask why there was no one on a recorded statement explaining the issue and when internet would be back online. I got someone that I couldn't understand half of what he said and wouldn't let me speak to someone that I could understand. I clearly wasn't in Texas anymore. When asked about last night's connectivity issue, he wasn't allowed to tell me that either. I'm not sure why he even answered the phone! Can not and will not recommend this IP. Too bad. It was the best one by far. Not anymore :(
