There's a way that information gathering can be done in the natural flow of the conversation. Do not: Be confrontational: This is something as little as the words you use, the tone and the pace in which you say it. Cutting your customer off as he talks through things (It's been a long day. I've been at this since 830am and was ready to buy a phone. There's a way to tactfully correct your customer. When I said Samsung store, i meant to say they said they had a Samsung Diagnostic Computer which analyzes the contents. Yes, they are an insurance company. But they told me what was up, didnt pitch anything new and apologized. Maybe they were lying. Another reason my kids dont use my phone is because they have a PS5, PS4, Switch, DS, Fire Tablet, Samsung Tablet, Nintendo DS and other laptops of the like. When I said no, I meant it. Again, this store probably does good work. Just need to brush up on some modern sales books. The Little Red Book of Sales Jordan Belfort: Straight Line Selling Dale Carnegie: How to win friends and influence people. Think and Grow Rich" Napolean Hill These are great starts if you havent already read them. There are also great videos on youtube on the meet and greet and the art and science of information gathering. Wish you the best and here's to no more encounters like this one!
