I went by the Vinton store last week with a fairly complicated request: closing the contract my recently deceased mother had with Verizon, but switching one of her phones, which I'd been using while helping take care of her, over to me with the number intact. Amy Keith helped me for a full 1 1/2 hours, the time it took to weave through the process, along with seeking out deals and discounts for me if I chose to replace the old V30 phone I was keeping. If I could rate a zero I would certainly do that. For the life of me I cannot understand how Verizon promoted a "free" phone and then later, years later you find out when your wanting to cancel the "no contract" account they tell you you have to pay the "free" phone off in order to cancel the contract. You call the 1-800 number and can barely understand a word they are saying except the dollar amount. So then you call the actual store you got your "free, no contract" phone and the young girl was very much over talking me, which I thought was very rude, and then she made perfect sense of her rudeness interrupting by saying come into the store, I have people sitting at my desk. I will definitely be getting rid of this service as soon as possible and will spread the word everywhere when I do! To say I'm disappointed is a HUGE understatement! read more

I dropped my phone from a very long distance on a concrete floor went to them at quarter to 8:00, and they got me a new phone ship to me the next day through asurion. That replacement phone failed, and was having trouble getting in touch with someone to get this resolved, and they jumped in and got me taken care of. Had a couple other glitches, went in and they took care of that too. I bypass corporate and go straight to Vinton whenever I need any phone needs! Well... where do I start off? Stopped in yesterday to get a SIM card for a new iPhone for my mom. I was immediately bombarded with questions and felt like I was at my inquisition! The guy was really put off that I chose to buy the phone from Apple and not them. He then wanted to charge me $20.00 for a SIM card. Ridiculous!!!! Why ANY ONE would pay for a SIM card is beyond me! Later I found out that this store is an "authorized" store for Verizon and not an actual Verizon owned store! I was told sims cards are free at the Valley View location but my sister went to the other authorized Verizon store in Bonsack because she said they were "super nice". They also gave her a SIM card free. The guy I dealt with was NOT customer focused and it was extremely obvious he was just out to rake in money. He insisted I bring in the new phone to be set up by them... (not a chance in hell btw!). He was unhelpful, not welcoming, and only concerned about money and I assume, commission. Please DO NOT shop at this location! It's a scam and you'll not walk away from there without a knife in your back! read more
