This location disappointed me tonight. We were thinking about switching our service to Verizon tonight but not after this experience. My family and I arrived at this location at 7pm. There were only two customer service representatives working with clients. When customers enter there is a chime on the door. I am sure the staff was aware that we were there. In addition we have a two year old who made his presence known ell known. Neither representative greeted us nor directed us where to sit. They ignored our presence. In addition, two additional people came in after us and they were greeted. This made me feel very unwanted as a guest inside the store and caused not only this branch but Verizon to lose a potential costumer. read more

First, there was no sign or greeter to tell customers where to sign in to receive service. The automated system in place previously is now a sheet of paper for anyone to read the nature of your business. Second, short-handed as usual, we had to wait quite a long time to get service. And when it was my turn, I had to go to the Verizon representative to tell him that I was next in line or he might have gone to someone else. He did not appear to verify that I was next in line based on what the sheet stated either. Third, customer service no longer seems to be a priority for this company (and it clearly used to be). I felt like the representative was doing me a favor by taking time from his busy schedule to address my concerns. He understood my concerns and efficiently and effectively addressed them. He also gave me good advice. Even so, I didn't leave the store feeling uplifted or like Verizon even cares. read more

We stopped in last night to make changes to our plan. The young lady that attempted to help us was extremely rude. She told us it would be 2 minutes before she would help us. She didn't have anyone at her desk. We waited and asked if she was ready to help us. Her reply was the chairs are empty aren't they. We walked out after 10 minutes of her ride treatment. We will find a different Verizon store to go to. Stay away unless you are willing to be treated like CRAP ! read more

If I could give a negative star rating I would. I went into the store reporting a severe hardware problem with a refurbished phone I bought through Verizon. The sales person told me that Verizon doesn't guarantee the phone it sold me and that the protection I had purchased no longer existed. He told me my only solution was to pay off $350 owed on the phone and purchase a brand new phone. He was rude and unhelpful. I got home and called Verizon Wireless directly. They determined that the phone was in fact under warranty. They are sending me a brand new replacement phone and Sim card at no charge and refunded me the $150 I paid for Applecare plus. That is more than a $1000 difference! I don't know whether the staff at the shop on York Road are dishonest or simply untrained, but I won't go there again. read more

If I could give a minus -5 I would certainly do so! I had the worst experience of my life dealing with the Towson, Cellular Sales store. I don't recommend using any Cellular Sales locations as this has been a total headache for going on three months now. I've had to call Verizon wireless several times and have spent hours trying to get a resolution to my problem. Very poor customer service and very limited knowledge of the product. Many mistakes were made during my transaction with Cellular Sales but no one in the store would say they made a mistake! WOW! read more

I agree with some of the other reviewers, so just to summarize a bit: There was no greeter, so when you enter you just stand there and wait for the customer service reps to pause in their chatting to call you to their work stations. I was pushed into buying an overpriced phone case and additional cloud storage. I had researched online before coming into the store about changing plans and reducing my monthly costs, but the sales rep was unable to find the same deal I found, and my plan was not changed. (I returned home and completed it on line myself) I bought the new phone I had come for, but was told I would need to wait 1 hour to download the data from the cloud and have Verizon complete the set up of my new phone. I was never given the option to take the phone home and do this myself. AFTER 2 hours I was told that just cost me $70. It was something I could have done myself. Overall the sales rep seemed more interested in the personal business that was being conducting on his/her phone, up-seling and overcharging me. Be wary this store is trained in getting the most $$$ from the customer. read more

The customer service here is fantastic! We had the pleasure of working with Jon H. who was everything you would want in a customer service/retail rep. Jon was very patient and thorough working to replace a smartphone that my grandmother had many troubles with something that suited her expertise a little bit better. He explained all the charges and billing information she needed to know. He took the time to find her the plan that best fit her and her phone. Jon even ended up saving her money! He took the time to transfer her contacts even going back and trying a different method when some contacts did not make it to the new phone. With the help of Darla M., Jon made sure my grandma was not nickeled and dimed. A huge thank you to Jon H. and Darla M. for making this an easy, pain-free process. read more

Horrible. Do not patronize this business. Sales rep lied about battery life of phone and return policy. Told me there was a 30 day return policy. When I tried to return after 2 weeks, was told it was a 14 day return policy and technically 2 Saturdays ago when I purchased means I am on my 15th day. Explained I'd been staying with my Dad at Shock Trauma for 11 days. Sorry, there is nothing they can do. Yes, I'm sure they could make this right if they wanted to. read more

Brought my girlfriend here two days ago to purchase a new iPhone 12 as her existing iPhone 7+ was having persistent issues. She was unable to login to her Verizon account and couldn't make the purchase online, so that's why we came in the store. We were met by salesman John G. who informed us of the current Buy One Get One (BOGO) financing promotion for iPhone 12. We returned the next day along with my mother who would be the recipient of the second iPhone 12, upgrading from her current iPhone XS. This would have been a 5-star review as John G. treated us professionally, was attentive and helpful. However, this review has dropped to 2 stars as I am very much not appreciative of undisclosed fees by salesmen. After having brought the new phones for my mother and girlfriend, John G. then began the process of transferring the backed up data of their old phones from the cloud to the new phones. He also went ahead and applied the Gadget Guard Black Ice Liquid Screen Protector to each phone that he convinced them was better than a tempered glass screen protector (I'm not convinced of that, but my mother and girlfriend were interested in trying this different screen protection as it appealed to them not having a separate layer over the actual touchscreen.) I thought John G. went ahead and did all of this as a courtesy and sign of great customer service, and that it was their standard practice at this retailer. However, this was not the case. I discovered at the end of the process when John G. sped quickly through the final tally of charges due, which included a $35 "setup fee" per phone for a total of $70 in additional fees to simply transfer the data from the cloud, something we've always done ourselves, and to apply the liquid glass coating which anyone can do themselves in a matter of minutes. When I asked John G. to explain these charges, he told me they were for the "touch of a professional." Now that might have been fine for people with plenty of cash to spare, or people who simply wanted that convenience, or who aren't savvy enough to do these simple tasks on their own once arriving at home. But the problem here is that the fees were never once mentioned until the final tally, after the service had already been forced without any request (or choice, for that matter) by us. Had he disclosed the fees up front, I never would have allowed him to proceed. The whole process from consultation to payment took around an hour and a half in the store, and my mother was feeling unwell so she wanted to be done and get home ASAP. Of this time, only about 20 minutes was the actual setup, mostly because it takes time for the data restore loading bar to finalize. If not for my mother feeling unwell, I would have told John G. that either the $70 in "setup fees" needed to be waived or he could take the new iPhones back and cancel the whole arrangement so we could go to a Verizon corporate store the next day instead. And of course once he printed the final contract and bill of sale, although the phones were returnable within 14 days, naturally the setup fees are non-refundable. Needless to say, this ordeal left a bad taste in my mouth, so to speak, and I will not be returning to this location or any other Cellular Sales location in the future, nor will my mother or girlfriend. Again, this could have been a 5-star review, but apparently making an extra $70 for just minutes of simple, unrequested work was an opportunity that couldn't be passed up by the salesman. Note that I've never been to an "authorized Verizon retailer" before. We happened to be across the street at the cleaners two days ago when we spotted the massive "Verizon" sign, only to realize this was not an official Verizon store later on, but willing to go through the process with them as I liked dealing with John G. on our first meeting. read more

Yesterday I purchased a new iPhone 6s from my salesman, Reginald. I can't express how great my experience was. He went above and beyond to help me from start to finish. I almost left Verizon about a year ago to go to a cheaper carrier but I'm confident that I made the right choice to stay after my experience at this location. read more

First off, this is an independent location, they are not owned by Verizon. Know this ahead of time as Verizon will NOT take your complaints seriously and nothing will be done by the so called management of this location. I took my phone in due to the fact that I had dropped it and the phone would no longer charge... that was it, the phone wouldn't charge. What I later found out to be was an independent sales representative (Alyssa H.) was waiting on me, NOT an employee of Verizon. After she could not determine the problem she CALLED VERIZON tech support for assistance. Not being tech savvy, the reason I went in, they decided a hard reset was necessary. Allyssa said this was not a problem, my memory, photos, documents etc. were backed up on the cloud which I told her was full. She said no problem and allegedly backed it up to my Google account. Needless to say she did NOT SAVE ANYTHING! Everything was wiped from the phone and nothing was saved to the Google account. When I went in the next day another tech said there was no way she could have saved my items to Google in 15 minutes it would have taken almost 10 hours to back that much information up, she should know that he said, but then noted she had only been there 6 months. I asked to speak with a manager to make a complaint, he left for 5 minutes and came back and said they are independent reps and they don't have a manager. I stated no one manages all of the employees at this location and he said correct, we manage ourselves. I found this hard to believe and they said there was nothing they could do. I called Verizon and they confirmed this was an independant location and they would report to the locations manager who is Anita Hilton, I have NEVER heard from her or anyone else after making multiple complaints. Needless to say there is nothing they can do at this point to rectify the problem but to NEVER even receive an apology from this location and to be completely blown off I would NEVER recommend this location and question even recommending Verizon in the future based on their business model. read more

The gentleman that waited on us was courteous and extremely knowledgeable about all the products we looked at during our visit. I nearly left Verizon to switch to another service but this experience confirmed that I will be keeping my service with Verizon. Thanks. read more

The salesman was completely Unprofessional. First off this is not a corporate store. We had bought a new phone for mom that was clearly defective, so she tried to return it and get a new phone. The salesman literally told my mom that he couldn't help her because the return wouldn't count towards his commission and that she should drive to bel air. She left completely upset. I immediately called the corporate office to open a formal complaint and threatened to leave. My next call was to the stores manager who was just as rude. I don't care what profession you're in you should never treat your customers with such little disrespect. If it wasn't for the corporate office being very apologetic and offering her very generous discounts our next stop would have been the at&t store. My advise to everyone is always buy a verizon phone from a corporate store. We are still Verizon customer just not customers of this store or this chain of stores. I've already posted our experience on every social media outline. Let's just say our friends, family, and businesses will no longer being using this stores services. read more
