Poor customer service and high prices. Been with them for over 25 years, however the prices and customer service is poor.

On Thursday i went to Verizon on 9th ave in Pensacola,FL. I have been a customer for over 4 years. My bill is always over $200.00. I asked the man could he help me? I jyst wanted the microphone on my text box and he said it would cost $25.00. He refused to help me explaining that is their new policy. Oh, and you would get 24 hour support. I left stunned. I have shared my experience with everyone. This won't matter today for Verizon but it will matter. Customers are the ones that pay your employees. Shame on Verizon! read more

My PURCHASING experience here was great. Sarah was awesome to work with during the sale. But what bothers me deeply is after the first month my bill went up by $409 dollars. No one has contacted me yet! I have called and called to get nothing but the run around. Even had one person at Straight Talk say he was transferring me to a Supervisor and just transfer me to a UPS store. Which UPS shows the package delayed since the 7th and stalled. No movement! Neither one of these company's have a person that can speak English that you can understand!! Had to resort to calling my credit card company and file a dispute and get my money back! Sales person changed his story TWO times in the course of discussing a family plan changeover from AT&T. Stupid guy blew getting 4 new customers. Manager came over and made excuses for him ignoring the fact that the guys story (sales pitch/ pricing) changed twice. Clearly he'd been taught by her to lie to get a sale. I have been a customer for 17 1/2 years and these past five years have been horrible. Verizon has dropped the ball big-time. They are nothing like they used to be. Their customer service reps I guess get these Verizon customer care reps get commission because they are little hustlers these days that try to sell you, you the home insurance and stuff BEFORE trying to fix your problem that you called for. I'm calling HR as soon as my son's phone gets fixed in hopes that it does GET FIXED TODAY I'VE BEEN ON THE PHONE WITH VERIZON FOR A TOTAL OF 14 HOURS AND TWO DAYS OVER A CRACKED SCREEN AND I HAVE THE BEST INSURANCE YOU CAN HAVE. This is my second attempt, taking it to a place that Verizon told me to take it to with my insurance so we shall see and then it's on I'm coming for you guys. I'm tired of the bills being higher and higher and service going out you're rude call center representatives that don't know anything about anything. Y'all need to get it together. i drive past other stores to get to the 9th avenue one. they try to please. problem is that Verizon seems to be falling into the AT&T abyss of several years ago as online CS is not up to par and many local reps are barely adequate. i dropped 6 lines to change to Verizon and now they are becoming the old AT&T in some ways. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE BEFORE AND AFTER. While getting help setting up a new line Kenneth was not helpful and couldn't answer my questions without the help of someone else, this made the appointment twice as long. They said my bill would be $65 total for a new line and phone with taxes and everything. After, I checked my bill and it's $69. I called to get help and they were beyond rude and not helpful at all and would not take time to help me understand it. read more

My husband and I got our own phone plan together and we were told that our monthly bill would be $157 EVERY month, keep in mind we only have 2 phone lines. 2 months in our phone bill has jumped from $157 to $225 and we were told the military discount would be on there entirely but turns out it was only good for one month. Now we are stuck in a crappy 3 year contract with them now and as soon as it's up we will be switching. Do not let Stephen at Verizon sell you a scam of a deal that won't last. We have been to this store three times in the last year and a half as it is close to the mall. All three times we were made to feel like we were intruding as soon as we entered the front door. The Nine Mile Road store was a lot better, but is closed because of the Wuhan attack (excuse to cut payroll). If the Nine Mile store is not open soon... I will be switching to another provider. I went in there last Monday to transfer my phone to my husband's line and still has not happened. Nobody activated and now I'm stuck home with Covid and have no phone! Plus I was there so many times this should have been done correctly. I hope I never have to go there again read more

Ive never had an issue ordering a phone from Verizon until yesterday. I ordered a phone from this location at 2:00PM and chose in store pickup. Verizon says that my order will be fulfilled within two hours after it was placed but two hours passed and nothing. Then three hours passed then four. I went into the store and the employees were standing around around talking and not once came to help me. Fast forward to the next day it's been 24 hours since I placed my order so I decided to cancel and order my phone from another store. Within 5 minutes of placing my order at another store my order was ready. Will not be ordering from this store again. read more

I was a Verizon customer for 13 years and always had excellent customer service. While everyone at the store was very helpful, the policy's that Verizon have put into place are garbage. Monday I NEEDED a new phone and I went to the store. There was a security guard to make sure no one could enter the store and a sales representative was trying to help me but I couldn't allow him to help me because he was putting his job a risk just by talking to me. After 13 years I would figure that they would be willing to help me but I guess they have become to big to care about the little guy. Thank God for AT&T who got me a phone that day. The icing on the cake was they didn't even try to keep my business. Its a true shame that people are paying so much for no customer service. read more

This Verizon was decent but the past year ive noticed that the employees are rude and upset when you have the nerve to ask them to do thier job. Whatever we need done we have to come at least twice because its never don or never done right the first time. But we dont know that until we get the bill. I would kinda agree with Tiff W. The service is quite lacking. The wait is usually 1-2 hours long. If you go during early morning on a weekday, it might be a bit better. Some of the salespeople are friendly, but some can be a bit cranky. read more

This place stinks. Young people better suited for working the taco bell behind here rather than help me with technological transactions. Forced to come here due to the wife cell phone (note 3) stopped charging. 1. I'm annoyed first thing from walking through the the door due to the hip hop blaring on their speakers. 2. Almost all the add-on devices don't have prices. 3. There is a nice U shaped table in the center of the store they guide you to sit at. I can only suppose that you are less likely to become enraged at their service while surrounded by other customers. 4. Long wait. I seriously have to take a number? Summary. A corporation/ store aimed at getting you to spend money (like a Las Vegas casino). Fast tunes, hectic atmosphere, no or confusing prices; I'll stick with my 45 bucks per month iphone straight talk plan. read more

Bought a new Verizon Phone for an upgrade at this corporate store. Arrived 30 min before closing. Girl salesman was awesome. Needed to use bathroom about 10 min later. She asked store manager to excort. He said no to use of bathroom as ithey we're closing soon. So here in a nutshell. Tks for spending lots on the upgrade, but you'll have to pee your pants peon. Unreal. If we weren't from out of town upgrading a dying phone would gave told him to stick it. Worst customer service. Use the mall authorized dealer instead. At least there you can use a restroom while buying their phone and accessories. read more

I contacted this particular store nearly deadset on buying an iPhone SE, settling on the fact that my current phone's battery was a goner. Was put in touch with Gabe over the phone, and he was thorough and succinct in his description of options. I told Gabe I'd be coming by the following day to discuss those options in person. Upon arriving, Gabe had the iPhone SE, new and in-box, ready for me, but he allowed me to ask questions regarding the right steps I should be taking (instead of just pushing the phone and making a quick commission). Taking Gabe's immense knowledge and resulting advice into account, I chose to hold off on the new phone purchase and take a few other less expensive measures for the time being to see if the current phone can be brought back up to an acceptable operating level. I was very impressed with Gabe's professionalism and patient customer service style. Having had a few less-than-stellar experiences in the past with other phone stores (we all know how that can go), I was beyond impressed with Gabe and would gladly recommend this store and its services to my friends and family. I went in there and the place was packed with people! I thought that it would be a long wait but it was worth the wait to fix my phone (it was not charging) I ended up not waiting long at all (they have a good system in there and lots of employees.) Once I explained the what was happening and the message I was getting the employee went through options with me including cost - submitting it to insurance, purchasing a new phone, or trying to see if it is just he charger itself. She tested my phone with another charger and it appeared to work fine. She recommended buying the $25 charger and seeing if that worked. If it didn't fix the problem in 2 weeks I could bring it back for a full refund and resolve the issue from there. So far so good! It was refreshing that she was trying to solve the problem as if she was on the other side of the issue, and wasn't just trying to get the most money out of me. They do a great job there! read more

For 7 of 9 years great service, Last 2 were the worst. Customer service failed to be their priority. Failure to honor warranties on phone. Tried strong arming me to up grade too keep me under contract. With paid insurance on equipment. I was told warranties and coverage are "curtesy's" Verizon gives their customers. Even when you paying for it! Played between Apple and Verizon over swollen batteries in 2 phones. The Pensacola Verizon store is the worst I have ever dealt with. Best way to put it is they are extremely rude, pushy and arrogant. Very long story cut short. I have started switching companies as my lines contracts are up! Save yourself aggravation, money and time and do some research. Start by looking up customer satisfaction for cellular service. read more

One of the employees (male) was rummaging through my phone and looking at some of my personal images and other information that he didn't have permission to look at. He must've even shown another male employee because he came by me, laughing, while looking me up and down. I'm upset over it, lack of service, and the general unprofessional nature of the employees there and will probably switch carriers soon. read more

We went to this Verizon Store a few days after Christmas in 2013 to establish new service. The store was very busy and there were many people waiting. We waited about 30 minutes or so before we were helped. We had a complex transaction--trading in our old phones, purchasing 2 new phones, setting up new service, and moving an iPad from a pre-paid Verizon account. Everything was handled flawlessly. The salesman was professional, explained every step of the transaction, and was courteous. Since leaving our previous carrier, C-spire (which was a horrendous experience to never be repeated) we have been extremely pleased with the signal strength and data coverage that Verizon provides to Pensacola. Additionally, Verizon's plans have become very competitive, and my Verizon plan is cheaper than the similar plan I had from C spire. read more

Terrible service. I waited an hour to pay our first bill and to ask a simple question of why there were two separate accounts. Essentially we were being billed twice. We were told we would still have to pay the second bill before anything could be fixed. We were told it was a computer malfunction. The staff did not know how to answer simple questions like that. After we waited an hour we had to wait more time for the sales associate to talk to someone else. Was also told rudely we could go online. I watched several associates go back and forth as well as outside. A rather hefty gentleman remained behind the counter not helping customers. He wasn't dressed in Verizon attire. So not sure exactly what his role was. If you like Verizon I suggest going to another store if possible. read more

Received my new $900 phone recently and it died. Went in to get the replacement. I have $19/month on our plan in insurance for replacements, as well as still within the 14 day new purchase policy. Dealt with the so-called Manager, Chris Cody. He wouldn't give me an acceptable option other than buy another phone or wait until March 30th to get my replacement. Even though they had the same exact phone sitting on the demo counter. He wouldn't allow that because they use it to sell more of these. Obviously upset, I raised my voice when he couldn't come to terms that he wasn't delivering customer service or any acceptable options. He entered the notes in Verizon's system that contradicted the actual experience. I know this because I verified those notes with a customer service rep. I then went to Best Buy across the parking lot to discuss options over there. I told them about my experience. They then told me they get dozens of customers over there every day that come directly from this Verizon store stating a bad experience and that Management was a joke over there. Well, according to Chris Cody, he is the "Manager" and doesn't have a Supervisor that I can talk to. He claimed he is that person. Chris Cody, in my book, is not a good reflection of Verizon's Corporate Values or their Mission Statement. I think his position in the chain of command should be reviewed by Corporate. I do hiring for Customer Service positions each week in my job, and this guy would never make the cut. Good luck with this store, Verizon. I sure hope you can fix this. I am in the process of considering other Provider options at this time, and I am working directly with Corporate since I did nothing but waste my time at this location. read more
