This review is for the Bayou Blvd location store and the employees there, not Cox Internet quality. I have been through many Cox modems as they stop working completely or start overheating and giving sporadic internet (ethernet and WiFi), especially after storms. Each time I go to the Cox Communications store on Bayou Blvd, I am immediately greeted by an employee and taken to a work station and asked how they can help me. I explain my current modem situation, and without hesitation, they take it and go to the back and give me a new one. They verify my account and that it is me, and explain how to set up the modem (which is super easy with the app) and I'm out the door and on my way in about 5 minutes. Last time I was there, they gave me the newer model of the modem and waived the fee (as they should, since I didn't break it, lol). I'd recommend this store if you need equipment replaced. read more

If you have considered getting any Cox products, such as cable, internet, or home phone services, you should know that their service quality is very poor. Cox has the least reliable network in Pensacola, Florida. They have no idea how long their system will be down during an outage. The company issued a notice claiming the service would be back within an hour, but that was 9.5 hours ago, and the network is still down. A different company installed fiber optics in my neighborhood last week. I'm switching to them, and I suggest you do the same if you want a dependable network service. Honestly, I think the tin cans and string I used as a child had better service. read more

Terrible. I received an online promotion for $60/m and I had to send documents to confirm my identity. I went to the store to turn in my old modem, and I told them about the deal I got online, and they offered to check my documents in person so I wouldn't have to upload. They completed my transfer and informed me they could not honor the price anymore because I did an in store transfer rather than online. Again, I told the rep my online deal, and he offered to process it in store knowing it would screw up my deal. I walked in with $60/m and walked out at $105/m read more

The COX cable guy decided to over prune a gardenia next to their cable box without having the common courtesy to knock on our door and ask, especially since I don't have COX (and never will). He left all of the limbs piled in my yard not to mention disturbing the birds that were nesting in the tree along with a major mess in the street. RUDE TECHNICIANS!!! read more

I wrote a review 5 months ago about the horrible internet service and the lack of caring by customer service. Welp, here we are now in March 2024 and internet still goes out at least once a week. it's out today actually, been out for 10 hours straight and there's nothing customer service can do and no clue when i might have internet service again. The only thing consistent with cox is disappointment. I won't even get started on the monopoly cox has on internet around here. if we had a government that worked, they would enforce the antitrust act on them but we all know that's not gonna happen. just know, there's nothing at all good about cox as a company. This review is intended for COX internet in Pensacola. There is not an option to leave a review for them directly so , I have to leave it here. In my 54 years, I have NEVER had a worse internet provide OR worse customer service experience. EVER. If there is an option to go with COX or use your hotspot from your mobile provider forever, I would NOT go with Cox. They do not give a sh$$ about the customer. I just upgraded two months ago, against my better judgement, and it has been just as problematic as prior. And, now we have to wait until Monday after for resolve. My phone was destroyed at work and I needed a new one. so I bought the $600 iPhone 14 and instead of attaching to my number, which they asked for 4 separate time they attached it to my girlfriends number. I get it mistakes happen. However I've been without a phone for a week now, I spent to 2.5 hours in the store waiting for them to fix it, I guess because it's an E-Sim it's harder to resolve for someone reason. So I patiently waited and let them know it's fine, I'll come back. They call my girlfriend because it's her phone now and the only one that's working, and they tell her I can bring I phones in because it's been resolved. I come in around 5:50 and stay until they close at 8:00. No resolution, and they escalated it again to Tier 3 support. I have had no word back in the last 4 days. Supposedly they're going to give me credit for this mistake, but we shall see. So far, I've been more than patient and understanding, on the other foot, I have been without a phone which I do use for work purposes. So it's 1 star for now. Router stopped working, during a Cox internet outage. Went to the Cox store and they gave me a refurbished one. Got home and tried to set up after the internet outage hours later. Router will not set up, called tech support and after much back and forth the tech guy said there is a problem with the router. Lesson is do not use Cox if you have another option. read more

The worst ISP service ever. Constantly down. Unable to access our security system while away on vacation. Unreliable internet service when working from home. On a service call, first they replaced the modem...didn't work. Then they replace the connection to the wall, still not working. Then they "upgraded" the modem (at almost double the price of the previous service), and still not working. Then the poor guy rewired it from the house to the first pole...still no service. Then on to the second pole, no service. Then he told me that another crew would fix it over the weekend. They never showed. So I brought everything down to the Cox store and turned it in and QUIT THE SERVICE. Too bad there are no Negative Rating Stars, I'd give them -5. read more

Cox Cable added services to my bill without authorization, I repeatedly told operator that I didn't want protection plan. Was added anyway, I received an email thanking me for adding the service. I called COX who hung up on me. I went to the local store and service was removed from my account, but then Manager said he needed to "educate me" about what happened. I told him he did not since I was on the phone call which is recorded, and I already knew what happened and that I didn't need to be "Educated". He was so offensive. I am 60 years old and I don't need to be educated about a phone call that he was not part of. He kept saying that he needed to educate me and I lost my temper and left. For whatever reason The services were illegally added to my account, without my permission and with me clearly saying three times, no I don't want that. The Manager was argumentative, offensive and condescending. All in all it was a bad experience, I'm already ready to end my short relationship with Cox Cable. read more

Cox Cable has a franchise for our area which excludes competition from other vendors. Recent outages have demonstrated to us and others in our neighborhood that they are incapable and incompetent when it comes to diagnosing and repairing their technical issues. We are waiting for the sixth visit from their practicioners to repair technical issues that we have reason to believe are infrastructure issues outside our home that they are not honest enough to admit to. We have another visit scheduled with little expectation of any improvement and perhaps further degradation in our service. I pay over $117 per month just for internet, no phone, no cable, nothing but internet. We've had Cox Internet for approximately 3yrs. It has been horrible. We reset the modem about three or four times a day sometimes. There's never a day there isn't a minimum of twice a day. And that's when we are only home in the evening!  We've called and of course Cox says everything fine. They send technicians out and they say everything is fine.  I'm here to say EVERYTHING IS NOT FINE! The only suggestion we get everytime is to upgrade our internet package. But it seems when we talk to someone, there's a "new package" and upgrading is the only fix. But they will give it to me at a promotional rate. Don't I feel like the lucky customer of the day? No. The answer is no. I feel violated by Cox Communication. Luckily (for real), AT&T sent us something saying they are soon to be available in our area.  Once they do, I'm going to social media and door to door in my neighborhood.  I don't work for AT&T, but they may want to put me on their payroll after this one. I will speak to everyone at work. Rate them on YELP and blast COX name on every social media site. Thanks to a Cox representative, I found out how to test my speed and compare it to the package I pay for every month. For almost $70 a month I should be able to have Google read my mind and search sh$# for me. Oh wait... ... that will take too long. I don't have that much time to search stuff. I couldn't even write about this modem issue. I had to use my Verizon internet. Why? Because my fricking modem needs to be reset AGAIN. I can't wait to get rid of Cox for good. Im so happy there are finally alternatives. Is AT&T good internet? I've had issues. But never like COX. This is a clear case of choosing the lesser of two evils. The absolute worst experience I have had through any type of service provider. The only redeeming part about Cox is the internet was semi reliable so its gets 2 stars. They constantly got my information wrong even after 2 years, and multiple calls to fix It. They will change your plan without letting you know and even if you catch it, it will Change again. Every time I come to the cox solutions store, which is too often, I must wait 30-40 minutes. They do not have enough personnel on the floor. There are plenty in the back hanging out. Also, some of the attendants like to chat with the customer after they have assisted. FRIENDS. When my obligation is complete I will be looking at alternative providers. NEVER purchase the Cox Homelife security it does not work and when ever you open and close a door it makes a small beeping noise, when there is a malfunction in the product the same noise is made. how are you supposed to know if an intruder is in your house or if your security system is acting poorly. Because of financial difficulties, we were unable to continue our Cox Cable. We did, however, keep the internet service. We went to the 4771 Bayou Blvd location and turned in our equipment. They told us their system was down and could not give us a receipt for the equipment, but the equipment turn-in would be reflected on our account. WOW! They now have charged us for the equipment we turned in and refuse to do anything about it. This is a rip-off and we will be contacting the BBB and the State of Florida read more

I wanted to cancel my home life security camera because it rarely recorded and was not worth $24 per month fee. Cox Cable told me that my bill would increase by $71 if I canceled the camera. Cox Cable reason was because the home life security camera was part of my cox bundle and removing it is why it would increase. Cox Cable charges too much money for the services they provide. Time to invest in a TV antenna And escape this cable rat race. read more

This store just made my day! I feel bad that I don't remember the name, it started with a P. He came out of the store when I pulled up and saw I had a sleeping baby in the car. He asked how he could help and took care of everything right there for me. My internet has been intermittent with an average download speed of .5 mbs (not 25-50mbs as advertised) and I just now scheduled my FIFTH technician visit for next week. That will be the FIFTH day I will be unable to work while I wait on a repair person and in return I will have a short period of time where my internet will work. This is SO unacceptable and I am SO fed up with Cox! And they were so kind to offer me a $20 for my time since I stayed home all day waiting on a tech that no showed!!! read more

This is my third review and again I say I wish I didn't even have to select any star. Cox cable service and Cox customer service is the absolute pits. Just read some of the other reviews and see the feeling and results are the same. Yesterday I spent 2 hrs on the phone with agents losing me I really suspect hanging up on me, or just sitting and listening over and over sales messages. If by a miracle I get someone, that person can't help me and tries to transfer. I must use Cox Cable for my tv and internet service because there is no other choice here where I live.
