I purchased a new iphone 11 pro Friday 11/25/2019 from VERIZON with my trade in iphone 6s. My sales person brought the phone out to me in the box, no shrink wrap on it like new phones have (Silly me didn't think anything of it until later) holding it in her hand. Did not take it out of any shrink wrap. She didn't tell me it was a used or return phone. Said it was the only iphone 11 pro 512GB they had and if I wanted a smaller GB or different color they would have to order me one. It was what I wanted so she proceeded the sale. Switched over my photo's and contact info to the (what I thought was new) phone. If I had said "No thanks" I wanted smaller GB she would of sold that used phone to someone else.
Fast forward 2 days. I've been busy this past weekend preparing for Barktoberfest. Only used texting and took photo's. Didn't use any apps or messaging, nor Facebook until Sunday. I went to post photo's on Facebook and oops, there was someone elses email address on Facebook log-in I've no idea who it is.(rlcameron9335@yahoo.com). That told me someone else previously owned the phone and must of returned it to the store. And they sold it to me without my knowledge it was a used or returned phone.
I went to return it Monday 11/28/2019 explaining to them and they told me they don't sell used or return phones. So, I explained to them the situation with the log-in for FB and no shrink wrap when taken out of the box. Even one of their sales reps said they always come with shrink wrap as a new phone. Red Flag! Mine did not! And how would another persons email be put on my new phone unless someone else used it or owned it? All they would do is return the phone, charge me a restocking fee and order me a new phone. Why would you charge a restocking fee for a phone you sold as new when it clearly wasn't? Or charge a restocking fee in this case? Or even charge me full price as a new phone for a used phone. Fraud! I just wanted to exchange it for a new one vice their used phone they tried to pass off as new. So, I asked them to return my iphone 6s since my sales rep. Friday took it with all my log-in password info and said she would lock it up in the office and if I decided I didn't want it by Monday, they would give me my cell phone back and refund me. Well, the manager told me they couldn't return a trade-in, even if I returned the iphone pro 11. Which is total bs. They got their phone back, my old one was paid for and MINE. And they charged me a restocking fee. GIVE ME MY OLD PHONE BACK. If you have Verizon, they won't honor a wrong and make it right. Just charge you for their mistake on their end. I am contacting corporate, Apple, BBB and letting those on social media aware of their bad business practices. read more
