Manager is a straight up douchebag. Stood around and messed with his tablet while customers waited for literal hours. This was a slow day, I waited to become an account manager to upgrade, and after all that they didn't accept my phone for early trade in because of a "scratch" that was so small, they needed 3 sets of eyes and magnifying glass!!! If theydve told me my phone wasn't eligible, I would've been in and out in 5 minutes. Instead I talked to customer service for 45 minutes with the manager played Tetris and stood on his high horse. I was noticing the low reviews for this location as I was looking for locations and hours to take care of some new phone business, decided to check out what others were saying, as I too have had "situations" w/them. My wife does most of the routine business of the household that involves paying bills so I had minimal encounters before... The first big issue was with my mother, first as a customer and then when she passed. Prior when she was living she had dementia, another sibling had taken her to Verizon, she had similar upselling and charges, for things she wasn't capable of using. I had to get involved there to get that reversed so all she had was a flip phone so she could make calls. Also got autopay going.... she couldn't remember to pay bills.... .That was a BIG mistake. Following her passing, multiple months trying to get the service and bills stopped. Even w/POA and Executor documentation, I could not get into her account to see status or do anything. They kept insisting on a PIN... Local store said there was much they couldn't do, online they wouldn't talk without a pin from her account. Even to the end, the store was saying I still had to pay some of her bills even for months after she had passed and couldn't use the service. My wife set up Verizon service for us some years ago, mostly because I was doing a lot of travel in remote areas of Idaho and Verizon served that area. Most recently, I was looking for a new phone. I went to this location twice... FIrst, to check out general options as my phone was starting to have problems. The guy very obviously was after a sale, but he at least gave me what I needed...He couldn't let me see account info or specific numbers because my wife opened the account so was account manager status, even though one of the phones on the plan was mine, payment by our joint account. But I understand why there is caution giving out account info and he got me what I needed... approximate likely cost/potential promotion options for me to replace my phone. A week or two later I came back with my wife.... to get me account manager status and to discuss together which phone to get as the phone really needs replacement.... Basically I asked exactly the same as the first guy prior to ensure those promotion offers were still accurate and I would know about what it would cost me..... but it turned out to be a nightmare. He kept trying to frame the conversation to his way of selling on features I might need, etc. He refused to give me comparative prices or whether the promotions were the same and if we were eligible. He said he would have to work up an individual quote. Back and forth, over and over, I did not know which individual one, it was between several partly based on price. He kept insisting I ID one phone to work up a quote. Finally, I was angry.... no yelling or profanity, but really tired of this guy and his refusal to give me basic comparative numbers... I told him I wanted quotes on this, this and this... three different phones. Period. He walked back into that locked employee place in the back.... Was gone about ten minutes... During that time my wife and I decided we did not want to do business with this guy. My wife suggested we tell the manager we wanted someone else, but I was done w/the place. Both of my parents passed away recently. My father died last october followed by my mother just recently. I waited for her death certificate to arrive and then began tending to her affairs to get everything canceled and deactivated, one of which is Verizon cellular. The morning of 9-24-25 0915 hours i was at 2603 Superior St, Lincoln, NE, 68521 bright and early to shut off her phone. I was instructed to have a seat and wait which i did. Eventually the supposed manager came out and i informed him i needed to shut off service to her phone because she is passed away. The manager started diddling in his tablet PC, first he asked for the death certificates which he never looked at, then he asked for my name which i gave him and informed him i am their son. At that point he asked for "my" personal email. Mind you i am "NOT" a verizon customer and I would never do business with verizon. I told the manager i dont give out my personal information, i will provide you my state issued identification and nothing more. At this point the manager says "we need your information in case we have to contact you and yada yada". I told him again "my" personal information is none of verizons business, i am not a customer, at which point the manager told me to leave the store with the false claim that "i wasnt being professional". I then went home and called verizon customer care and spoke to an individual named charles. I informed charles of what had transpired and that i do not give out my personal information to anyone that i am not doing business with just because they ask for it and that i have no intentions or obligation to give out my personal phone number and email to someone i am not engaged or contracted with to do business. Charles put me on hold several times and finally came back and stated that he had made me an appointment on my behalf at the O street store anytime prior to 2PM and that he had made notations in the computer and that their would be no issues getting it taken care of at the O street store. I loaded up the dog and away we went to "5141 O St, Lincoln, NE, 68510" Upon arrival i was greeted and i explained charles at customer care scheduled an appointment for me for the purpose of canceling my deceased mothers cell phone account. I also informed the employee that charles made notations in the computer and said that you need to review those remarks before we begin. I gave the employee my deceased mothers cell number which he entered in his computer, he then said i will be right back and excused himself to a back room around the corner. After some delay he came back out and stated we have to have your information in case we need to contact you. Again i told him i am not your customer nor am i obligated to provide you with anything other then a valid state issued identification to verify my identity and i am not giving you my phone number or my email or anything else, i am not a verizon customer. At that point the employee refused to shut off the phone service and stated i cant help you. Verizon only gets one star because it isnt possible to leave ZERO stars. I have now turned the matter over to the Law firm that is handling other matters for the family and requested that it be filed in court as a civil matter so that verizon can be versed on what is required by law and that their policies are NOT law..!!! I hope the sales reps are aware that the staff member upfront scheduling appointments is hindering your commissions. We walked in the other day with full intent to upgrade, at first she seemed cool with it, and said there was one person in the queue ahead of us, but also felt the need to remind us they close in 20-some minutes. We are in a joint account, so had to call the account holder to request access, which only took a few minutes. During this time she made a point to basically say that we will not be helped today and wanted us to schedule an appointment for another day, kept rambling to me about how they all have to be out at a certain time due to security reasons. That may be true, or she just wanted to leave. Either way it came off rude, you can tell she didn't really care if we were helped or not. If I was the one getting paid commission for someone coming in before close, I'd sure as hell want that and not want someone limiting it. We will go to another location with better customer service to upgrade. read more

Verizon website says the store closes at 7. We arrived shortly After 6 and the doors were locked. Sat in the car & tried calling customer service. Couldn't get through the automated system to talk to someone. At 6:30 7 people walk out of the store & say they closed at 6. Tried saying website says they are open til 7, employee responds "Google is wrong". Attempted to say it's not Google, it's the Verizon website" & one of the employees says "I'm not arguing with you, Bye!" I was having trouble activating my new Verizon Wireless Prepaid phone and didn't have another phone to call customer service so I went to the Verizon O Street location. It was close to close, half hour to 6. I was the only person there and the man that greeted me at the front CLEARLY had no interest in helping me. He 1st told me that maybe it wasn't a Verizon phone.. weird.. since I got it out of the Verizon section of Walmart and it says Verizon prepaid on the front of the box. Then he told me my phone might be faulty and handed me a flyer with the 1-800 number on it to call. Obviously I can't call the 1-800 number since my phone is not functioning and in my hand. I went home, waited 24 hours, did a hard reset and everything worked fine, no thanks to Verizon wireless. I've been a customer for over 5 years and that service was pathetic read more

Devonte was a Rockstar with my mom, who, let's face it, is like everyone's 72 yo mom: not great with technology. Her phone was locked up and he worked with her to fix it and reset her pin and her Gmail password, and he was charming the whole way through. He's the epitome of great customer service. This isn't the closest Verizon store to her home (the one that IS the closest has garbage CS), but she's coming to see him if she ever needs help again. read more

5 year loyal business with 7 lines and tragedy from multiple deaths causing lost wages to cover 1 small 250$ payment arrangement and needed extension to keep phones on to ensure business and entire family had phones in time of crisis and was told that only allowed 2 days and reason given was due to multiple agents saying confusing inconsistent things as to why no further extensions allowed and saying reasons or policies I've never heard of or had issue about before and like they make up different rules or rebuttals to do anything they can to deny the customer service and help morally wrong for any company not to and Verizon had done for customer previously over 5 years and now I won't be able to get lines turned back on especially with additional reconnect fees for 7 lines, and business will have no phones or family while tragedy of multiple deaths &reason needed extra extension that was denied ultimately causing my business to end and my family to not even have phones having to plan funeral and no way to afford ever getting turned back on so took thousands of$ over 5 years and ruined my life over one payment needing help when tragedy stuck me. they should be shut down for moral reasons and customers being lied to, scammed and robbed at this point when never how this company innitialy ever treated a customer ever ever at all in all the previous years until lately it's run by so chats and call centers that barely can understand when actually speak with that only read of screen and can't explain or actually fix or help beyond what computer allows and intentionally set up that way so customers can't actually ask questions or complain or get explanations about things they are upset about or overcharged for or scammed with Unknown fees etc. there recent treatments of customers just on a moral level alone is disgraceful and to make it as difficult as possible too even speak to anyone that's not a robot chat or reading from a script in another country that don't have any answers to anything anyways, and never explain what charges are from or what fees mean in order to continue to rip off customers and nobody can question it or prove it that way! I was looking to hard reset and factory reset my phone which was obviously easily done since all it takes is a computer and the phones in need of resetting. The manager didn't want to listen to a word I had to say. I wasted 30 minutes to be told I was wrong, yet YouTube can instruct us better. Everything he told me I needed to do, i'd already done minus the stuff on the computer. Didn't know they can't use their computers there!? The manager was racist to me since I was white, and then when my African American boyfriend came to help defend me the manager there, Dom, called him a bitch. WOW GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE SO HELPFUL. I can't believe the audacity of some companies. I'm seriously considering another service... My best friend lost her husband in November 2016. It was a very tragic and unexpected event, and he was only 45 years old. They have a young family, and as you can imagine, this has been extremely difficult for her. She has had to pay for his cell service this entire time!!! It's ALMOST JULY!!!!! By probably mid-December, or certainly early January, she began the arduous task of closing accounts, switching things over, etc. VERIZON is the only company that refuses to close his account, and had continued making her pay for his phone and phone service. At first, they needed to speak with him. HE IS DECEASED. Were they not paying attention? Then, they needed a copy of the Death Certificate. Understandable. She brought it in to the store, and still, they told her that they couldn't help her. IT HAS BEEN MORE THAN SIX MONTHS SINCE HE DIED--SIX!!!!! WHAT IN HEAVEN'S NAME DOES A PERSON HAVE TO DO TO CANCEL A CELL PHONE WHEN SOMEONE DIES?!?!?!?!? Please help!!!! read more

This is my opinion and as such should not be seen as slanderous behavior: ********************THIS IS NO WAY TO TREAT A VETERAN******************** I only bring the veteran status into this because I have PTSD and do not handle stressful situations well. I have made Verizon/Altell aware of this on several occasions. I had a phone with them and asked them to suspend my service for three months, they agreed and when I went back to reactivate my account they had given the number to someone else. I asked what I needed to do to get another number and was told I had to enter into a new contract. I asked if I would owe anything on the old one and was told no. I asked if he was sure because I did not want any surprises down the road, he assured me I had nothing to worry about so I signed up for the new account. I took my new phone and went on vacation and about a week into it I get a call from them telling me I owed over $300 for an early termination fee and if it was not paid immediately they would terminate my new service. I explained to them what I was told and they cut my new service and then sent me a bill for early termination for both services. I refused and again called them to explain what had happened and they refused to do anything about it and sent it to collections and now a bad mark on my credit report. I have thought about picketing outside the store until they agree to clear this up. Very bad customer service, I would never suggest these idiots to anyone. I had always paid my bills so this was ridiculous. UPDATE: I have been on the phone trying to clear this up and keep getting the run around. I was told that Verizon and Altell are two different entities. If this was true why would Verizon still have all my information on their computers? Verizon gave me a number to an Altell office that is specifically for handling cases of removing errs from credit reports. I discussed this with the lady on the phone and she said she could not do anything about it. I asked her who could and she told me Altell but she didn't have there #, what? The first thing this lady did when I called her was to represent herself as an Altell employee. I told her I might picket the store until this was resolved. She said I had that right but it would not get me the number to Altell. My family does not want to see me picket the store so I came up with the idea of posting this on every Altell/Verizon page I can in several major cities. The store I originally signed up with is @ 5141 O Street in Lincoln, NE 68510. But the customer support numbers they give you to deal with is the same. Note To Verizon; I have lived with this on my credit report for five years and have tried to resolve this for as many years. So do not think that contacting me with empty promises only resulting in more dead ends is going to convince me to pull this post. I've dealt with this for five years, now it's your turn. awful service. They make so many mistakes that even headquarters can't fix it now. I came to upgrade my phone. I got a new phone however someones sim card was put accidentally into my new phone.!! I still don't even know how its possible to put someones sim card to someone else device? This problem was too complicated to fix because other person's phone started to act up and my new phone stopped working. Then i returned a wireless charger worth $60 and was paid with my credit card when i bought it. however the return credit never went into my c.card it went to someones account. This is awful.!!! The battery did not hold the first charge. It showed fully charged, rang bells when it was done. Next day at work it was dead - new phone. I took it back because it was within warranty. Whoops, no box and charger. I do over again - 3rd trip since going to buy the phone. Paraphrasing the Verizon technician: All new 4g phones must be connected to a charger when not in use. I came in to get an upgrade on 11/14/15 and worked with Logan. He listened to the characteristics I wanted and recommended the Droid Turbo 2. I was surprised how fast I was in and out of there. Only 45min or so, only because I couldn't decide which products I wanted. That includes picking a phone, picking 5 more items (speaker, case, screen protector, car charger, wireless charging dock), activating the new phone and paying. My total for phone and 5 accessories was only $88! It was a great deal with the $200 off my total. It's the current promo! FYI, don't get an HTC. I had four HTC One's, and their customer service is horrid when you call the manufacturer directly. The quality of the phones matched their customer service. read more

Terrible experience! On 9/26/15 I went in to see what plans Verizon had to offer. I spoke with Jeremy who told me that they like to get information so they can keep in touch with individuals inquiring about switching to their company. Being in marketing, this made sense to me. He got my address and phone number and asked to see my driver's license to verify my identity. When he handed it back he said something like we will see here in a minute if you will need to make a down payment. I asked him if that meant he was going to run my credit. He said yes. When I told him, "I do not give you permission to run my credit" he got really irritated and didn't seem like he wanted to talk to me any longer. He pointed to the wall and said that's pretty much the plan and you can look at the phones. On 10/12/15 I got a letter in the mail stating that I had submitted an application for wireless service on 9/26/15 and that my credit was checked through Equifax. I repeatedly try to call the store and every time I was routed to the customer care center. The rep said I would have to talk to the store manager. When I finally got in touch with him he said it was my fault for giving him my social security number, which I do not recall giving to them. I guess I will not be switching to Verizon and have reported them to the Nebraska Attorney General's Office, Better Business Bureau, and the credit reporting companies. read more
