purchased a Frigidaire upright freezer 6/2024. charged $119 for delivery. delivered by a third-party. Really just a drop off and run. Few months later the interior light went out. under warranty and Schafer's repaired it by installing a new door. After that the internal fan started making a noise like plastic parts hitting. now on 5/27/2026, the unit no longer is functioning. called Schafer's and didn't even care. It's out of warranty. So after 30 plus years of buying appliances and electronics. We are done. Not even a conversation about trying to do something or discussion of maybe discounting a new product. Guess what? Sales rep Melanie was very helpful when purchasing a gas stove over the phone. I didn't have time to come in and look over appliances. I needed a new one for a rental. After installation, one burner did not work. I contacted Melanie, it was agreed upon that if it needed parts, I would have the option of replacing it with a new one. After a technician came out, it was replaced with a new one which was installed the next day. Two things stood out prompting the 4 stars - the installation was done by a third party which surprised me since they emphasize local personal services. - when the stove had the problem, It seems that all the departments work independently. It was frustrating to repeat the situation always being transferred from department to another. But overall I appreciate the work Cecilia did coordinating the replacement of the stove. read more

I bought a washer machine from shaefers in 11/23 it's literally a year and a half old and I have maybe used it maybe 20 times this is not my primary home. . Are you all aware that most of the washing machine machines have a year warranty on them? I was not!!! I picked this company, because I thought they stand behind their product . Guess not!! Disclaimer: I don't like leaving bad reviews for any company. In no way am I implying intent, or saying that anyone working at Schaefer's is a bad person. But I had a really bad experience, and I think it's important to share experiences like this in hopes that it encourages accountability and better business practices. As a middle class customer my wallet carries very little power, so all I really have is word-of-mouth honesty. Long story short, we bought a faulty Asko dishwasher from Schaefer's in 2022 for around $1100 with a 2 year warranty. It would work fine for several months, and then stop working at random. A service tech would come out, try different things, and get it working again, and then it would stop working again a few months later. This was the pattern for 2 years and the issue was never fully resolved. While we appreciate the efforts of the service techs, ultimately the dishwasher stopped working again just a few months after our 2 year warranty ended. Now there's nothing else that can be done for us. When I called Schaefer's (calls service and sales departments) to discuss options, we were given sympathy for our bad luck but told that our options are to either pay for another attempt at repair and new parts or purchase another dishwasher. I was told that others are having problems with the model we bought and it's not even on their sales floor anymore. They said "they don't things like they used to" and recommended I get the extended warranty next time. Wait, what? Why would you be selling products that you know are going to need an extended warranty? How is it right to sell appliances that both sales and service acknowledge are unlikely to last? I'm supposed to risk eating the cost of faulty products you chose to put on your sales floor? If you know this dishwasher is faulty and you're not even selling it anymore, you can't provide me with a credit to replace it now? When I said that I'd have to be shopping elsewhere based on this experience, they wished me good luck with my next purchase and gave no effort to retain me as a customer by finding a solution to our problem. The people at Schaefer's are kind and easy to work with, but this is a 1 star review because they failed to sold me a dishwasher that did not work and failed to resolve the problem. After spending $1,100 dollars and 2 years of hassle I'm back to square one - shopping for a new dishwasher. read more

I purchased a Washer and Dry in the show room. During the sale I asked what the return policy was in case we did not like the LG washer and Dryer. I was told there was a 7-day satisfaction guarantee. We had the equipment delivered and it was not drying our clothes completely. They said it was due to the long run of the dry vent system in our home (our previous smaller older dry worked better). For $4,000 I expected more and scheduled a return. I was told during my phone calls with customer service that there would be a up to 25% restocking fee (they included tax in their fee) plus the cost to deliver. I was charged about $900 for the return. I offered to purchase a refrigerator in instead of the equipment I was unhappy with but was told the time for that had passed. The Sales representative should have stated the full return policy / restocking fee noted in the fine print of the receipt. I have purchased laundry equipment and TVs from Schafers in the past with no issues but will have a hard time getting over this costly miscommunication and willingness on their end to work with me read more

we love the individualized attention we get from Schaefers whenever we go in - even if we're just browsing and dreaming. When we have bought from them they are professional and courteous. I love that they keep all our purchase records so if we do have any issues they look up what our model number is and can easily know who to send to help us out. Their prices is always a bit on the high end, but I guess that is probably the trade off from getting the personalized service. read more

We have purchased many appliances from Schaefer's in the past and had great customer service. Recently our refrigerator, which is less than 7 years old quit cooling. We called to have them to have it looked at and they said no one could look at it for almost a week. I understand if I hadn't purchased it there, but I consider that very poor customer service especially for someone who has spent thousands of dollars with them. I bought a fridge in May and immediately had problems with it getting to cold in the fresh food section. Service tech came out and said they didn't even have a part number for the damper valve that needed to be replaced. They were going to exchange it, but they didn't have another one. So I paid a little more and got a Samsung bespoke. When I got that fridge I was told that SAMSUNG was doing a rebate and I would be able to get new glass panels. Which I did order from Samsung. After a few days I noticed things were starting to go bad, checked the temp and this one would t hold the fresh section below 40 degrees, it would also go up to 47degrees for 7+ hours at a time. Called service again, and they ended up replacing it with another one. I bought a calibrated temp logger to keep an eye on how the fridge was operating. The 2nd one, 3rd and the 4th all did the same thing!! Yes I am saying I had 5 fridges in 5-6 months. After I called for service on the 4th Samsung fridge the service manager said they were no longer going to service my fridge and that I need to deal with it because it was "within operating limits" or return it. I opted to return it. Now Good ol Ronnie will not give me the refund check minus the $40 delivery fee "that I agreed to" unless I also return the panels that he didn't sell me. He says they are his because the rebate was used on HIS fridge. And if I want to keep them, he is going to deduct $400 for the panels. I ended up going to NFM and got a different brand, and guess what..... it works like it should!!!! And I can prove it!!!!! I will say they tried to solve the problem, but when i wanted a fridge to keep my food cold i guess that was to much to ask because they just gave up! Stay away from this company, if you have to many complaints or problems they may give up on you also! read more

I bought a washer and I admitted I broke the kid with no insurance. at first they said it was going to be $564 to fix it. I waited until I had the money to order it. when I placed the order they said it was free. Schaffer's called me and left a voicemail saying the had my delivery. When I called to have the replacement fixed they said they had no record of me. I talked to 5 different people that day trying to fix my washer. I am not sure I want folks like this hooking up any of my appliances or in my home. Are a few so called collage hunks which is BS movers qualified in correctly wiring and installing? Who are they? I told Ron thanks for the 35 years plus but we will be moving on! If they can't deliver using there own people. I don't want collage hunks at my home ever especially after reading all the reviews. Please educate yourself first. This is a franchise and will hire whoever can lift a few pounds. Think they care? I have never been impressed with there customer service. Sold my mom a TV with one component and 2 HDMI connections. She went back explaining she had to connect a VCR/Directv/and an Xbox. (She forgot to mention the wii) 2 different employees told her that she didn't need an HDMI cable. I've got the distinct feeling they tried to snow her. read more

I am so grateful for the awesome help I received from Ron and Kevin and the whole team. I originally purchased a washing machine and they reversed the door on it for me. Once I got it to my camper that I live in full time it wouldn't fit through the door! My camper was being moved in 1 day and they let me exchange it with a smaller one the same day and I was able to get it all before my Camper was being moved across the country. A friend of mine, who is elderly, bought a refrigerator and was not serviced well. I'm doing this post on her behalf. She bought and paid for a fridge and the $100 for delivery. The delivery men who showed up were teenagers who weren't able/allowed to enter the home to install. They left the refrigerator in the driveway! There was also an additional charge $100 to install the ice maker that she was not told about. Additionally, the old fridge was not removed. Not even set out in the drive for her. By the grace of her neighbors, and 4 hrs of their time, it all got installed. Schaefers should have taken better care to help her understand everything and send folks who could actually install not just drop off. read more

You can get them to match Best buy ' s add for similar or the same items if the price is different. Overall worth checking out if you need a new major appliance or TV. They usually have free delivery but not on everything. read more

We recently moved to Lincoln from out of state, and wanted to support a local business. Our salesperson Jerry did not pressure us, and did show us many options and gave us good knowledgeable information. We would not have learned about induction cooking otherwise, and we love our new KitchenAid induction range. We bought a KA range, fridge, and dishwasher, a Sony TV, and a Sonos speaker package. All the prices were comparable to Amazon or Nebraska Furniture Mart. The delivery people were friendly and careful. read more

This store is awesome. I was impressed with there tv selection. So many great tvs and they DO price match ! There sales staff was impressive! They told me a little about the history of there store and its pretty interesting. Also i should note how cool there interactive displays where! I have Now purchased one of there Catnapper chairs and a LG smart tv here and i constantly get compliments from people on both. This is Way better than the big box stores and you would be making a mistake to not check them out. read more

We have made several purchases from Schaefer's over the past 25 plus years. Their service is second to none. The most recent purchase was a LED TV. We purchased a LG OLED TV and had it for a few days when I noticed the same TV went on sale for $100 less. They were very quick and willing to refund the difference. While we were at the store we started looking at other LED TVs. We saw a Samsung 65" LED that had a much better picture and it was also on sale. Schaefer's made the exchange and they didn't charge us any additional delivery charges. The sales people are very friendly and knowledgeable. read more

Purchased a new house 2 years ago. All the appliances from Schafers! I also purchased their extended warranties. My frig and freezer stopped working on Sun. a week ago. Couldn't send a repairman for 5 days, then had to order parts which didn't come in..had to reschedule. I will be 2 weeks with no firig or freezer. GREAT SERVICE...NOT!! read more

We waited for about 10 minutes for a sales rep to ask if anyone was helping us. We said no, and we have a couple of questions. He looked around like he was trying to get out of it and said "well, I'll try." We asked if a sofa came in different fabric and he said he didn't know. My husband said he wished he knew if the fabric was made of leather or faux leather. The sales person said, "well, you know what they say ... you can wish in ONE hand..." Then big laughter. We didn't laugh. The rest of the saying is "...and $hit in the other." He tucked his tail behind his legs and said he could go look it up. He headed off to the computer and we waited. And waited. And waited. We finally got up to leave and he was standing with the other salespeople in the big hub, just laughing and talking. Yeah, we won't be going back to Schaefer's. Turns out, they're the most expensive option in Lincoln, Nebraska anyway. Talked with a store representative to gather additional information. She in turn talked with the sales manager. He followed up with a phone call to explain the details of the warranty.
