Very disappointed with customer service at Verizon wireless in Hanover. I wanted to add an iPhone 11 to my account the initial purchase went fine. When I attempted to sync the watch with my phone it would not sync. I followed all suggestions and even Google online advice. I returned to the Hanover shop less than 24 hours after purchase and told them the watch would not sync. They told me it was $30 fee for them to sync the watch. I agreed as long as it was not a defective watch. They could not sync it. They told me because it was an Apple product I would have to bring it to them. I insisted I was not leaving without a new watch (purchased less than 24 hours ago). They took the watch out back and claimed to have synced it up to two different phones and insisted it was my iPhone. I asked for them to try a new watch on my phone but they refused. I got a refund went to The Apple Store purchased the same watch synced up on the first try with no work done to my IPhone. I am a long time Verizon customer with many devices on my account. Awful experience today in Hanover location. Rob, who claims to have been there for 28 years (which I heard over and over again) was extremely condescending and clearly aggravated. I let it roll so that I could get what I needed to get done and get on with my day. I was purchasing/upgrading 3 phones and two were Christmas gifts for my daughters which I let him know at the beginning of our session. After we were all through, he informed me I have to return the old phones within 30 days which would be December 22nd. I told him my daughters weren't receiving them until Christmas, the 25th. He basically said that's too bad and I wasted 45 minutes of my time when he could've told me that in the beginning. It was clear they were Christmas gifts. Terrible experience at Hanover Verizon store. My son broke his phone over the weekend. I took it in on Sunday to get replaced at 3:55pm with their closing time advertised at 6pm on maps. They told me their phones had all been away for the night as they were closing at 4 and I would need to come back the next day. The next day after work I went to the store at 5:40 and was told they were closing at 6 and they couldn't help me. Customer service was horrible and clearly they do not care about helping people. I went to Derby Street and their salesperson stayed open an extra 30 minutes to make sure we were taken care of. Would recommend going to Derby Street if you need anything. read more

Stacy at Verizon in Hanover was my hero this morning! I was multi-tasking and somehow pressed the reset button on my phone while talking on the phone and pulling my walnut crusted chicken with brie and honey sauce out of the oven for the library cook book club pot luck. My call was disconnected, my screen turned white and life as I knew it with all my family and friends just a touch away evaporated before my very eyes. It was dramatic. No contact with the outside world, aside from my work computer for 8 hours. I was prepared but disheartened to think I had to replace my phone and re-enter all contacts. I really hoped to keep my 5 year old phone a year or two longer. Haaaa. Thank God for the cloud! That all changed and turned to daffodils and butterflies at 8 AM this morning. Stacy took my phone, worked her magic and I was back in the game with quick access to all my loved ones by 8:11. My adult children were thrilled. Son said "good to know" when he learned we could communicate again. Haaaaa. Can't thank Stacy enough! Had to give her a 5 star review. Note: Tip. Arrive at 8am if your matter is timely. Joel is THE BEST. I had a pretty complicated multiple line transfer of service/purchase and was very nervous it wouldn't go well, but Joel assured me all would be fine and it was! He explained everything and answered all my questions patiently and professionally. I felt very confident he knew what he was doing. I am not sure where to begin. I am absolutely DISGUSTED with the service provided at this Verizon location. I am at a loss for words. The team at this Verizon location is extremely under-qualified and lacks every piece of interpersonal skills needed to be successful in client facing roles. I feel extremely aggravated by the way we were treated each of the 6 times we have been to the store in the past 6 weeks. Note that we have been going to this location for the past 6 weeks attempting to make some changes in the account as well as do an iPhone upgrade - yet, after 6 weeks of going into the store multiple times a week, we have gotten nowhere. The associates at this store do not care about the customer. They simply look for ways to tell you "Nope, you cannot do that here" or "Nope, you need to call this number" or "Nope, cannot help you with that." They honestly go out of their way to make you feel terrible and waste your time. When I ask to speak to the store manager, I get no new information. Everyone is extremely under qualified. This store has every characteristic that shows what is wrong with today's society. I would highly encourage Verizon executives or higher ups to either completely shut down this location, or to bring a whole new team of qualified associates that TRULY WANT TO HELP customers and not treat them like absolute crap. The manager there is rude, aggressive and encourages her employees to treat customers very poorly. In early July I was in the store to purchase a new phone form my son. I arrived at opening. 1.5 hours into the process I was told that they could not complete the purchase and I would need to come back because of some "internal issue" at Verizon wireless. I voiced my dissatisfaction with that response. The then employee asked the manager to help him through the process and she berated him for interrupting her and told him and me that there was nothing they could do and I would need to come back. When I asked her to help him she yelled at me for "telling her how to do her job" and asked me to leave the store. She sets the tone for a bad employee base there and needs to be removed. Do not even bother to get any customer service here. After speaking to multiple customer service representatives on the phone and having received multiple answers, all conflicting, I thought I might have better luck in person. The sales person told me that the best deal I could with my current contract was a free phone. The upgrade, he explained was available due to the new IPhone coming out shortly. He then proceeded to tell me it could only be done on the App and that he would be happy to set up for me himself. I asked him if I could keep my old phone and to keep my current plan which allows unlimited data. I had him go over the numbers with me, assuring that I would see only a minimal increase my bill for insurance due to the increased value of the phone. Wrote it up, had it in the Queue at the store so all I had to do was pick it up an hour later. Picked up the phone, thanked Tyler profusely for all his help. Brought the phone home only to find an $800+ receipt in the bag. Went online and sure enough, I'm being charged for the phone. Called the store, was told to come back in the morning, met an irritable manager who insisted it was my mistake and I must have misunderstood. Then she told me she was going to have to charge me a re-stocking fee. I made her fully refund that. She didn't apologize...what has happened to customer service? Verizon is texting me to let me know that I still need to trade in my old phone, because i must be "enjoying my new phone". Incredibly frustrating and Just unbelievable! Seeing the other reviews, how can VZ not act on the obvious failings of this store? The ASSociate on the week of 7/26/21 at this store was absolutely useless, obnoxious, arrogant and disrespectful. No concept of customer support or client service. After getting a new phone, this ninny did not transfer data from the old phone or spend any time explaining the iPhone platform, which is totally new, coming from an old android. Nice to tell someone with a new phone that you are "too busy", and that "you could come back tomorrow." This incompetent clod had plenty of time to take $$$, but refused to activate an unlocked android smartphone that was provided to replace the old phone, instead insisting that could only be done in a phone less than 2 years old. Blatant BS and lies. After requesting to see the manager at least the transaction was completed, but still service was poor, no attempt to transfer the info from the old phone or provide basics of the iPhone. I asked the manager what they thought about the remodel and they loved it, I disagreed mentioning that there is nowhere comfortable to sit and wait and wait and wait now. The benches are all very low and have no cushion. I mentioned this and the manage insinuated that they like it because fewer people stick around now. So they are intentionally making the store more uncomfortable for people so less come in and eventually they will get rid of brick and mortar stores altogether. That being said... The woman who was assigned to help me was extremely off-putting and was acting like I was inconveniencing her. She offered very little assistance in choosing a new plan and could care less about any of my concerns with VZ since I have been a loyal customer since 2004. Once I asked about what phone I should upgrade to she became even less helpful. She brings me to a wall of phones with no signage or information about any of the 50 devices hanging on the wall. I started asking questions about the memory in several iPhones and she said she didn't know. I asked how much memory is consumed by the internal operating system and she replied: "I don't know 6-10gb?" I then åsked, well which is it? and she said I don't know. The only vibe I was receiving from this person is.... Hurry up, buy a new phone, sign a new contract, and get out and don't come back. After dealing with this woman I will not be returning to this location even though it is the closest to my home. Also, after all the problems I've had with Verizon's rapidly quick downward spiral in customer service, I will be leaving for good. Worst experience EVERY TIME. You always have to plan to be there for AT LEAST an hour!!!! Reps are clueless and don't care about wasting your time. Extremely unprofessional!!! My visit last week was no different total time there 1 hour 20 mins!!! I wanted to activate a new phone with a new line on my account. Not a hard transaction!! Rep was puzzled by something on my account. He disappeared for about 10 mins came back and told me there was a pending order on my account that he had to get cleared before we could add the new line. He said he was currently on hold with someone to fix it. He then proceeded to take another 2 customers. During that time I used the chat option on the website and took care of the "pending order" myself in 10 mins!!!!! When he came back an hour later I asked if he was on hold all that time he said yes we always have a long hold. I didn't bother setting him straight because it would have made for a longer experience!!!! THIS VERIZON LOCATION DOES NOT EVEN DESERVE THE ONE STAR I HAD TO GIVE IT IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THIS REVIEW! I was in today to exchange a blackberry phone that I purchased on line within the month. The phone had major problems with freezing up. I originally ordered the phone on line and ordered it in violet. I never activated the violet phone because I could not see the number pad. Customer service advised me to swap it out at my local store, which is the Braintree location. The black blackberry is the phone with the problems and Braintree advised me to go to the Hanover store to get new equipment. I am almost sure that the employees at this Hanover store take pleasure in trying to stage a million obstacles so that the customer goes home UNHAPPY. In particular, Scott, the sales rep that was waiting on me told me that I had already used my one worry free exchange by switching the violet phone for the black one. Since I never activated the violet one, I insisted that I was due an exchange. Ultimately, I decided to cancel my long relationship with VERIZON and go with a competitor and Scott told me that there would be a $350 early termination fee. I left the store without resolving any of the issues that I went there to fix in the first place. THIS IS FALSE INFORMATION AND I AM MAKING A FORMAL COMPLAINT AGAINST SCOTT AND HOLLY, THE MANAGER. Verizon's customer service line revealed to me that indeed you can cancel your service with no early termination fee if you are within the 30 days, which I am. These VERIZON reps have got to STOP trying to bully and threaten the consumer into remaining a verizon customer by passing out false information. YOU CAN ABSOLUTELY CANCEL YOUR CONTRACT WITH VERIZON FOR ANY REASON IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED AND IT IS WITHIN THE 30 DAYS! What kind of an outfit is this if they use sneaky tactics to try and retain customers? THUMBS DOWN TO THE EMPLOYEES AND MANAGERS AT HANOVER VERIZON WIRELESS. I would rather drive 50 miles out of my way to another verizon store than to be LIED TO AND THREATENED BY SOME SNEAKY SALES REP. Good luck to anyone trying to resolve their issues at this location. Your best bet is to deal with customer service at *611. They are much more willing to work with you. I was sent a brand new (different model Blackberry) so in essense, this really can be done if you have a flexible person on the other end of your problem. This place is always jam-packed and crazy particularly on weekends which is an especially tortuous time to drop in. I can't even believe I ever returned to this store because two years ago my brand new car at the time, was side-swiped in the parking lot by a Brink's truck that was trying to squeeze through a too small space in the overly crowded parking lot. Nonetheless I did return to buy an Android phone (which I absolutely love by the way). The salewoman whose name I've forgotten was clearly in a rush to get me to buy the phone. She could not have spoken any faster or been in any more of a rush to make this sale. I had done my homework on the phone already so I let whatever it was she was saying go in one ear and out the other. I noticed that the phone came with no instructions and asked Speed Talker Woman if I could download them from the web. She said: "No, the Android phone doesn't come with instructions and there are none on-line. You have to sign up for a class and come back here to Verizon if you want to learn about the phone." I let this go in one ear and out the other as well. When I did go on-line I found out that Motorola would in fact send me an instruction book which I quickly received in the mail. Everything about the phone is explained very well. What galls me is being misled and lied to. I don't like being rushed by salespeople and I don't like waiting forever for service in a noisy, crowded and oft-times chaotic environment. Let's even forget about the parking lot mishap; it's still not worth the hassle. The Android phone I'll stick with but I am dumping this particular Verizon store. read more

Woman associate made appointment on her tablet for a new phone for my wife for 7pm Saturday. My wife received a confirmation text for 7pm from Verizon. My wife showed up 15 minutes early for the appointment and that lazy POS associate that made the appointment was sitting on her ass reading a book. All she would say was they close at 7pm. It was 6:45pm and it was she that made the appointment! She wouldn't get off her lazy ass and assist the appointment she made - even with 15 minutes before closing. read more

Honestly, the store is fine, but Verizon as a company has no regard for its customers. My husband and I are long time customers, I'm talking 10+ years. We went in to upgrade our phones, Colleen helped us, she was very informative and friendly (she gets 4 stars). She unfortunately placed the wrong order for my phone, which is a harmless mistake. When we realized we tried to call to rectify, you of course cannot get anyone on the phone, so I went into the store to try to fix this (there are no phones to physically sell, so everything needs to be shipped - again not a problem). After speaking to someone today there is simply nothing they can do, and I have to wait a month to receive the wrong phone, and then begin this whole process again. It's truly unbelievable how zero effort is made to fix a mistake that is no fault of the customer. I left the store and tried again to get anyone from Verizon on the phone with again, no resolve. Truly makes me consider what phone company we should proceed to move forward using in the future. Verizon, you should give your employees some sort of power to rectify issues like this when they arise. read more

Free ringtones of Akon songs? Considering you can buy your Verizon shit online, it's mystifying to me why you'd have a verifiable zoo of people in the store, but whatever. Be advised that if you want to make it out of the store before you receive your AARP card, you need to put your name on the list for service. It makes no difference how long you've been standing there, people who are on the "list" will be served first. It would have been nice if there had been a sign advising people of this, but I guess they assume that you'll notice the large flat screens with the lists of people around the store and figure it out. Maybe I'm slow, but I wasn't expecting the Verizon store to be like the RMV, so wasn't apprised of this and had a few people cut me in line because I wasn't on the list to my great consternation (no cuts no butts no coconuts, people). If you're a VIP customer because you spend a fortune, they'll transfer your contacts to your new phone for free instead of the usual $10.00- make sure to tell them though because they WILL most definitely try to eek that $10.00 out of you regardless. The lady who served us tried to charge the $10.00 and seemed disappointed when we reminded her of our VIP status as if we'd somehow bankrupt the company by getting around their inane policy. It seems Every time I walk into this store I get upset. I feel like i get lied to and get sold a bill of goods every time... It feels like they are "just looking" to make a "quick" sale and really don't care about what you are looking for or what you need. For example, I went into that store the night before the iPhone 7 was to be released. I changed my plan around and told the sales associate that I wanted to upgrade to the iPhone 7 plus. He informs me that they have them to sell tomorrow (which was the release date). I come back the next day, wait in the iPhone 7 line (which was out the door) just to find out they DID NOT HAVE ANY iPhone 7 plus in stock.... None... Zippo... I was told by the Verizon rep that no one has the 7 plus... Not even the Apple Store. But with this store's tract record who knows if they were feeding me a line of bull.... This store wasted my time and what was worse they totally lied to me about what they had in stock.... If other cell carriers had as good coverage as Verizon I would be very happy to bring my phone there and tell them to stick it.... Came in over the weekend to sign up for a new plan. I was greeted at the door soon as I walked in and was put on a wait list and told how many people were before me. I liked this because it made it much easier to gauge the wait time. When it was my turn, a super friendly guy named Jimmy helped me. Id been avoiding going because I was worried they would try to sell me things I didn't need by signing up for a brand new plan. I was so wrong! Jimmy asked how much I paid for my plan with my prior carrier and made sure to find me a plan that was right where I was comfortable paying. He never once tried to sell me anything other than the phone I told him I wanted. He made sure to give me the best promotional offers they had, never ever offering me anything extra other than insurance. Overall I'm so thankful that I finally made the switch and I'll go back to Jimmy every time I need phone help! read more

I went to this location last week with my phone I purchased at the Wareham store a month and half ago. The battery was not holding a charge. I dealt with Melo who was extremely helpful. He agreed that the battery life should last longer. He made a few suggestions and said if the battery still wasn't holding a charge I should come back and I could swap out the phone for a new one. Today, I went back to the Hanover store and dealt with Charlie. I explained to him that I hadn't used my phone all day and although it had started off 100% charged it was down to 53%. He took my phone went to a screen, informed me that my phone had been off the charger for 6 hours so it was perfectly normal at 53%. I then told him how I had been there the previous week and what I had been told (I didn't mention who told me as I couldn't remember the gentleman's name at the moment) and he then told me that I had a "cheap phone" so that is why the battery couldn't hold a charge. Charlie phone shamed me!!!! Sorry I don't have the latest iPhone Charlie, but I'm just not that into phones. Would Charlie's customer service skills have been on point if I didn't have a "cheap phone"? I asked to speak to someone else and luckily for me Melo came out and took care of everything. read more

The sales people will tell you whatever it takes to close the deal and get you in to a big monthly bill but when you return to follow up on an upgrade you find out "that promotion" isn't running or wasn't running when you purchased your phone and you have NO recourse. Just came from the Verizon store in Hanover. Was not looking forward to going there because of the awful reviews, but it was the closest one to me. What a pleasant surprise! I was greeted by a friendly woman who noted my reason for being there and I was told to take a seat and someone would be over soon. In about 5 minutes, Tim, a knowledgeable young man, greeted me and in 10 minutes my phone was fixed. He explained the problem, demonstrated the solution and that was that. I've been a client of theirs since 2004. I went into the store November 2010 to upgrade to an I3. I had everything ready to purchase when the sales person said two things I didn't care for. The first thing was that I hadn't paid my bill for last month yet. I told them have I ever not paid my bill. Her reply was no and your a preferred customer. She then asked me to pay for my car charger. I would have been okay with this until I told her that I have never paid for a car charger and I have 5 phones on this account. She said," Well, let's just see about that!". "Yes you have.....you paid for one, but it was discounted. I placed the new I3 and all the accessories down on the counter and said I'll be right back. I went to AT&T and have been there ever since. The crazy thing is Verizon never called me to ask me why I left? Hmmmm Business must be good. It's now May 2012. read more

As with the other review-ers, I too, have had multiple less than thrilling experiences here. The parking lot is a mess... there is no hope of ever maneuvering into a spot out front and youre lucky if people even park in the lines in the back. Once youre in the store... the waiting time can range from 5 minutes to upwards of an hour. If you know youre going to be busy... why not put more staff on?? Ive gone in on a slow Monday night before and there were at least 4 staff members there... on a jam packed Saturday I saw maybe 5-6. They now have upgraded to tablets to work through their sales which is very convenient, if the tablet can do everything they need it to do. I needed to switch my Moms contract into my name which the tablet "couldn't do yet". Both the register computers were being used and I ended up waiting even longer for a 5 minute process. The staff is definitely knowledgeable but they lack common courtesy and politeness. They are always in a rush, don't care to ask if you have any specific questions and will seem to do anything for the sake of a sale. I have worked in sales before and understand the guidelines and quotas, but the lengths the company has them going to is really unacceptable. Im a longtime customer of Verizon, and will probably stay because they have the best signal in the area. However the fees and charges they sneak in are outrageous. As soon as another carrier can offer better signal around here, I will be switching. read more

I had a good experience at this store this week when I needed to buy a new phone. You should know that due to Covid-19, the store is limiting how many customers can be inside. They had clear signage on the door explaining the policy, so I understood the situation and waited outside until it was my turn to go in (about 10 minutes). Once inside, I was helped by a young man who answered my questions and got me what I was looking for. He was polite and patient with me. The store was set up to practice social distancing as much as possible, with clear markings on the floor suggesting where to stand, etc. I was dismayed to learn that they couldn't transfer data from my old phone to the new one I was buying, due to their Covid restrictions. When I told the rep that I didn't know how to transfer data, and was positive that I wouldn't be able to do that on my own, he suggested that I check Youtube. I really don't think he was trying to be rude; he sincerely meant for me to look on Youtube for help in finding a tutorial. So I took a deep breath and decided not to take my disappointment out on the young salesman. When I got home, I watched a couple of videos, made some mistakes, started over, tried again, swore, etc. But in time (about an hour later) this 63 year old woman was able to transfer my data at home by myself. If I can do it, anyone can! Anyhow, the negative reviews for this store do not match my experience. I believe that the other reviewers were too harsh, and almost had me go elsewhere. My actual experience was absolutely fine, and not at all at the level of terrible that previous reviewers would have you expect. The store is clean, the staff was helpful to the extent that public health policy allowed them to be, and the product (my new iPhone 11) is beautiful. went here with my brother to get the galaxy s5 on its promotion deal. Had great service from, Kyle, if I remember his name right. However, they didn't have the color I wanted in stock so they mailed me my phone instead. Here's where things go to shit. They sent the phone to my mother's address and not mine even though I indicated that it should be sent to my address. Then, I could not activate my phone in time to register for the lifeproof case warranty and here's the fuck why: They sold me a USED PHONE AS NEW. I took my phone to the verizon store in charlestown and they found that my simcard was fried and that's why it wouldn't activate. They said it must be because they sold me a used phone as new. Now it has been a couple weeks and my phone was frozen today, causing me to sleep in and miss my classes. This should not be happening to a brand new phone, and that's because Hanover Verizon sold me a used phone and said it was brand new. read more

Amazing customer service! I came in raging because I was upset about my phone not working they fixed it for me and then when I was pulling out they ran out after me to tell me I had a flat tire. While waiting for AAA they gave me water and invited me inside. Sometimes dealing with phone stuff can be horrible but the they definitely made it more bearable! read more

My husband just got off the phone with this business. We wanted to make an appointment to switch to a business account and had been told BY VERIZON to make an appointment with the business rep at our location since I also wanted to look at phones. We had visited a Verizon store in Denver when his phone broke and had an excellent experience, and this is where we decided it might be smart to switch to a business account after a conversation with the young lady there. The man he spoke with at this location (our home store) said we didn't need an appointment and could do it over the phone, which I do not want to do. This person did not care at all when my husband said he'd rather do it by appointment and not be kept waiting...did not step up and make an appointment. I have been a Verizon customer since 1995 and instead of wasting my time setting up a business account over the phone, I think I'll shop our business account elsewhere since they all have pretty much the same coverage area these days. DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS STORE, doing their actual jobs is too much for them. read more

Awful store. Sales asociate failed to mention their HOLIDAY PROMOTION (getting 64 gigs for the price of 16). When I over heard one of the sales associates mentioning it to their customer, I kindly asked the lady helping me if that was valid for my purchase. She agreed it was but said that since she already opened the box nothing could be done unless we want to pay an additional $50 restocking fee. Unreal. She wanted us to pay for her mistake!
