I placed my order on September 23 and completed the entire checkout process, including providing all of the requested information and making the payment. During the order process, I also designated another person as the authorized pickup person because they were supposed to pick up the item on my behalf. What should have been a quick and convenient one-hour pickup turned into an unnecessarily complicated process involving multiple verification steps. Instead of simply processing the order and allowing my authorized pickup person to collect it, the order continued to be delayed because of additional verification requirements. By the following day, September 24, the order still had not been completed or made available for pickup. At that point, the entire purpose of choosing "one-hour pickup" was completely defeated. I understand the need for security and fraud-prevention measures, especially when someone other than the purchaser is picking up an order. However, if Best Buy allows customers to designate an authorized pickup person during checkout, the process should actually work smoothly. Customers should not have to go through one verification step after another after the purchase has already been submitted and paid for. The most frustrating part was the lack of efficiency and clarity. If additional verification was going to be required, that should have been clearly communicated from the beginning. Instead, I placed the order expecting a simple one-hour pickup and ended up dealing with an extended, inconvenient process that carried over into the next day. For a company as large as Best Buy, I expected a much more streamlined system. A service advertised as "one-hour pickup" should not turn into a day-long or multi-day verification process, particularly when the customer has already provided the requested information and identified the authorized pickup person. Overall, this experience was a complete hassle and far more complicated than it needed to be. What was supposed to save time ended up wasting significantly more of it. The first time everything seemed fine, then I found that Siri wasn't working and nobody could hear me on speakerphone conversations. After research I found a forum suggesting improper placement of an adhesive strip where the microphone for Siri and speakerphone conversations is. This wrongful placement of adhesive was done by the MANUFACTURER of the replacement screen. All that was done to rectify this issue was the technician removed the adhesive with complete disregard for the adhesives purpose...rather than re-aligning the adhesive or finding a replacement screen that didn't need to have the adhesive re-aligned. Management was notified and I was offered a 50% discount to have it replaced again. WHAT??! That's bananas! This store doesn't care for the quality of product they sell and very clearly doesn't care for its customers or reputation.
