The apartment community (it's a series of many different buildings) has their own feel and localized personality. I have taken a look at other apartment complexes when it's time to renew my lease (I'd be stupid not to!), but I keep renewing here. So, why am I reviewing Parkway? I genuinely like the staff. Ed, Heather, and Greg all do a pretty good job keeping this place going. They are all happy to help out with an issue, and usually get things resolved quickly. So... here's a quick rundown of Parkway: The good: Staff, pretty nice pool & separate play area for kids, a decent fitness center, quite a few buildings have a laundry room, safe & relatively well-lit, Easy/close access to Colonial Williamsburg, W&M, I-64, US-60, & VA-143. FREE COFFEE!!!! Needs improvement: It tends to be slightly more expensive than other communities in the area, but you get what you pay for. I've never had an issue with bugs. Parkway is one of the older complexes in Williamsburg, but they do a good job keeping it looking nice. The fitness center needs both a new TV and a mirror or two. The TV has a warp in the picture, and the fitness center was remodeled last year and they took down the mirrors. It's difficult to see if you have good form without them. I believe that there are two washers & dryers in each of the laundry rooms and they can get busy. My building has two, I'm not sure about the others. I'm rating Parkway 4/5 only because I can't give them 9/10. They probably deserve a five, but I'm stingy. :)

This was most troublesome when a repair left the toilet no longer secure against the ground. To which maintenance who came in had no solition, as the ground was not level. The people I've met who are part of management and maintenance are pleasant and kind when met in conversation; however the amount of personal is severly lacking for the size of the complex, rooms are extrememly pricey, even for williamsburg, and do not ultimately deliver on the quality expected.

No one wants to be there but because of this economy we are. All of the other tenants talk about when their lease is up moving out. You have NO WINDOWS THAT OPEN! It is a hotel. If you have pets and use the restroom or cook those smells are there in your room and you have the old HVAC system to try to circulate air. The building has water dropping off the roof and primarily impacts the closest enterance to the parking lot. The people who manage the propertry are doing a job but for the price you pay, and the whole no windows thing, it was just a poor decision. It is in a decent location but if you want to walk to one of the few restaurants nearby or located near the interstate, but again. This place is maybe half filled. I will wait until I move out to share all the stories I've developed over my time here. FYI, the local police love to hang out here all the time. You have to pay $25 a month for the Valet Trash Pickup. Pickup is S-Th and you have to wait until 5pm to put trash out and it is picked up after 7 and then you need to bring your trash can back in your room by 9am the next day. You cannot opt out of this even if you never put your trash out for this service, it is mandatory.

Depending on your needs the rooms can be for a single person needing privacy or a large group of 15. I was taken to the second location, Old Towne Road location. This location is much more modernized than the Penniman location but more smaller rooms. This location is a one level location and have a full kitchen access.
